Well yes. In every single military institutions in the country, the forces are trained keeping India in mind as the major threat to the country. It is how it is and dosent reflect the political inclination the government has towards India. Thats just geopolitics and you have to live with it. But precautions are already taken at military level as you never know who changes their stance against you at what time.

On topic, I said this before and I will say it again - In case of war, India will have air superiority over BD within days. Thats a given fact. They will try to enforce a naval blockade as well but as our navy is growing, it would not be a clear victory but advantage on India. Ultimately India has to put boots on the ground and that is where they or any attacking enemy will bleed and will bleed profusely. Our official troop figure is somewhere around 250,000 in army (accurate number is never disclosed). Add to it, the 80,000 odds in BGBs. Further add to it, the million-strong Ansars and VDPs that fall under army command in times of war, all of whom are trained by the army in peace times.

What is India going to do? Field their whole million-man army here to capture Bangladesh while Pakistan eats breakfast in Delhi? Lol.

Indias Vege eating folks were generally never good soldiers causing the subjugation of India for a thousand years. Sikhs and Gurkhas probably make up the majority of the Indian front-line soldiers
as the vegetarian folks would run for cover at the first sign of hostilities while blaming the Sikhs for not fighting hard enough !

All our armed forces have to do is go to guerrilla mode and then, good luck fighting a war on our terrain. And I didnt even mention other civilian/VIP security forces such as PGR, RAB (70% army members), SSFs, APBs who all receive compulsory commando training from the military.

Above that, good luck capturing a country of 160 million.

Indians have half their army deployed in and around Kashmir and a major chunk against China.

They can barely afford 2-300,000 soldiers to try to invade BD.

Its hard to buy the argument that the geographical entity referred to as India was peaceful, therefore it got invaded. In those days if you appear weak for any reason, you are asking for hostile takeover moves not only in South Asia but all over the world. The central Asians and the folks from Afghanistan certainly thought they had a good shot at it, they were right. The British saw weakness in the Muslim rulers consequently made their moves and came out as winners.
