Nobody is against army. Don't hide behind false assertions, please. Where good work of army is commendable, bad work can't be justified. 80% retire as majors. Right? A retired officer must get a shelter and they are getting it in Askari housing. What is the point of allotting one plot each in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad DHAs?

I would appreciate if you tell me about the structure of DHA and how they get lands. DHA Lahore violated Lahore expansion master plan of 1962 which advocated expansion towards South and DHA expanded towards east. Resultantly, all private housing societies followed.

There are alot of things but I don't often discuss. Commercial interests of army needs to be curbed.

Lastly, I didn't start the thread. Merely commented. Prove me wrong with facts, please.

Ask for tanks, guns, artillery, jets, subs but not DHAs please. Askari housing is ok. Don't ask for out of way favors for SCOs in cellular market. And many more.

It is quite hilarious how we expect them to fight a war on terror that even NATO with it's trillions of dollars spent is struggling with, be conventionally prepared to confront the second largest army in the world, fight separatism in a territory the size of Germany, and be called upon every disaster, political crisis or law & order situation while maintaining thousands of schools, hospitals, clinics, and other basic services because the Government has failed to do so on a meager 8 billion dollar budget.

Then we bark at them for being forced to seek out other means of funding.

Bhai I come from army family. Yara, I have seen a lot approaching 40 years of my age. I don't intend to bombard with you information here so as to confuse you people. Information regarding some bitter realities, I think jawans on this forum should get over time so that they may easily and constructively digest. I want to keep it general. Specifics are too much for young minds here.

We should be sure enough to understand the importance of strong army and mature enough to discourage commercial ventures of army without being disgraceful towards army. No further comments from my side on the matter from hereon.
