Well Gripen is a very potent and cost effective product, unfortunately it is no more required in PAF now. PAF has started work on JF-17 Block 2 and a duel seat JF-17b..Now that india has confirmed that it will go ahead with the french rafale.
should we opt for the Saab gripen to counter it?
is it a feasible option for PAF?
PAF can buy more F-16 block 50/52's and get some old ones and MLU those to take on the Rafales.
There is also an other issue still India has not completely shelved the MMRCA or has completely ordered 126 aircraft, so Saab is still a contender. The only thing this deal of 36 Rafales ends the Euro Fighter Typhoon dream.
