Gents,

Here is what I was told when I was young: 'A vegetarian is an old tribal slang for the village idiot who cannot fish, hunt, or ride.'
i just dont get the "ride" part

do you ride on buffalos or other large mammals before slaughtering them?
You ride horses. Keep in mind that way back in 'the old days', a horse is a symbol of freedom, strength, power, and last but not least, virility. Whoever with a horse is a man to be respected. A horse make a hunter a superior hunter, more wealthy, the better provider, and inevitably the more desirable by the village chicks.

Veg for allmost 6yrs, tbh non-veg food is expensive in India, my father a lover of food drastically changed his diet after diabetics etc, no alcohal no meat. So my parents told me if you want to eat meat go buy yourself or eat outside with frens. Being lazy and comp. addict slowly I reallized I converted to strict veg. I don't discourage meat eating, I tried bakra few days ago, now my body will take time to get used to non veg.

at the moment . meats and chicken are cheaper than veggies.

But what about right now if someone got a horse, will be still be desirable by the chicks village???....

Any chance you are "Son of anarchy"? ;)
Ahhh...No. Never seen a single episode. I do not watch much TV. Nine out ten movies out there I have never seen, not even ET. Never seen a single episode of Friends, Seinfeld, 90210, 2.5 Men, and so on and on...But I do read a lot.

Dan Brown? Mario Puzo?
Never read them.

What do u like?
When I was young I read a lot of sci-fi. One my of favorites to this day is still "The Mote In God's Eye". I still have hopes they will make a movie out of it. Another classic is 'Ringworld', awesome mental imagery. Not much fantasy so not much of a Tolkien fan. But if you want some 'hot' fantasy reading, try 'Tara Of The Twilight' by Lin Carter, sword, sorcery, and ****. Today, I read mostly non-fiction, mostly history and political issues from the likes of Francis Fukuyama and Thomas Sowell, who are my two favorites.

For fiction, my current interests are Lindsey Davis whose character is Marcus Didio Falco, a smart-alecky 'informer' (private detective) during Imperial Nero Rome, and Laura Joh Rowland whose character is Sano Ichiro, the Shogun's Most Honorable Investigator of Events, Situations, and People, during medieval Imperial Japan. Both men are detectives, one for hire, one a retainer.

I also read a lot of Vietnamese writers as well but all deal with serious issues. Once a year, even though I have a house, I go through my books and give away a few boxes. I read fast so I can go through $150-200 per month in books and magazines easily. There are always magazines in my house, from Linux to The Atlantic to Maxim to Heavy Metal, the adult illustrated fantasy sci-fi, not of heavy metal music.

I even saw it in New York City --- halal meat sandwiches/shawarma are a HUGE thing there.
