A 1981 poster to attract recruits to fight Soviet forces in Afghanistan. Such posters were mostly printed in the US and distributed in Pakistan.

Yes.

Uncle Sam is still here.

If he goes we can move on for sure some say

Well Pakistan and US blame each other for the folly they did. The only solution is to acknowledge the own's mistake and ensure that they don't happen again.

Gwadar would hve been an ussr port... and islamabad a most beautiful city of india... rock and a hard place...

In my opinion problem started in 1990s when both US and pak failed to control afghanistan

Yeh kya hai

we cant change the past.. just focus on present and the future.. pak army have only one year to fence the pak-afghan border completely

ISIS ka influence waqt k sath sath increase horha hai afghanistan mai. NATO bhi apni artillery weapons and forces ko increase kr rha hai till next year in afghanistan.. india terrorist organization ko funding krna achy sy janta hai.agr pak ny full control hasil nhi kiya durand line per by next year. there will be a proxy war in pak.. just look at pak borders whats happening on eastern & western borders are the indications of upcoming bad circumstances. and NATO will encourage ISIS against pak if pak continuously delay in fencing the pak-afghan border we will have to suffer alot. enemy main targets are not only sabotage CPEC but also destabilize pak

I am afraid yes we somehow still are!

Rulers of today's Afghanistan, in past were in USSR block but today same warlords are allies of US!
Those who once fought against USSR occupation, were bombed to heaven in first few weeks of US invasion, only pictures of them are left.
Today's we see new demography in Afghanistan.

in case of a full frontal attack the Pak military, which was already several times stronger than the Afghan Army, would have fared much, much better in front of the USSR. plus the USA back then was a Pakistani ally, and would have helped us stop further invasion. Pakistan, could not have and would not have become a USSR territory. it was the militaristic ambitions of Zia and the CIA which lead to the catastrophe known as the Afghan war. should we have let the soviets occupy afghanistan; taliban, isis, al qaeda, boko haram would not exist and muslims would not be ridiculed the world over as islamic radicalism wouldn't've existed.

Unfortunately yes, This was a blunder a debacle by Pakistan (Sorry) but reality is bitter, US became sole super power and ruin many countries just imagine if USSR not fallen they can resist USA on Iraq, Afghanistan and many other fronts but CIA, Charlie Wilson tricked Zia into this making him to believe real objective of USSR is Pakistan which is not true.
