It will be a great tragedy for Pakistan to ban PTI. It is a movement, though built around a personality cult, much like Modi's, but people of Pakistan are tired of the same old faces.

The term 'personality cult' is a derogatory term used by the Old Guard to challenge any revolution. All significant revolutions in history were led by a single charismatic individual in every case. Was the freedom movement behind Gandhi a personality cult? Behind Jinnah? Behind Lincoln? Behind Lee Kuan Yew?

It was refreshing to watch Murad Saeed, Zulfi Bukhari, Hamad Azam and many more articulate policies of their ministries. I am hoping Imran Khan 2.0 will be a more humble and politically smarter person and wouldn't make mistakes like stubbornly keeping Usman Buzdar like people despite many warnings about Buzdar.

Zulfi Bukhari, Moeed Yusuf and Usman Buzdar were all disastrous choices by Imran Khan which proved to be albatross around his neck. Can you imagine the top national security advisor of China or Russia or Germany or France who holds an American Green Card?

But Imran Khan goes too far in challenging the Establishment of Pakistan then should know the fate of ZAB, Nawaz Sharif, and Benazir Bhutto who too were very popular leaders.

The establishment is an integral part of the Old Guard. Everybody and their grandmother knows that. Imran Khan had a difficult job to change a system which has entrenched itself for 70+ years. Even if he gets a 2/3rd majority (which the rigged system will never allow him) he faces an uphill battle.

The more they deny it , the more they stop him , the popular he will get. If they are not careful , this may lead to their own demise. The army is 0.58 million Pakistan is 220 million. This is a classic statement of what happens when people with guns try to stop people without guns. Bangladesh is a key example. See how the Pakistan army had to surrender to the will of the people.

If the jalsa on Saturday across Pakistan is successful it’s all over. I heard najam sehti and he was thinking that imran will come back to make a deal and negotiate. I disagree I think he will come back to take over. They have a short window till eid to announce elections after that he may switch to whole scale revolution!
