Arabs slam Pak stand on Yemen and Call on Pakistani Parliament to Fall in Line

Remittances:

Arab countries to Pakistan - $8.5 billion

Arab Countries to India - $30 billion

UAE alone was source of $15 billion to India.

_______________________________________________________________________________________________

So let me get this right. The Arabs provide millions of jobs to Indian's so they can earn money and send back to India which helps to strengthen India. Whilst so many of my poor brothers in Pakistan are unemployed and desperate for jobs. If they got job in UAE it would mean so much to their children, their parents but instead UAE gives them to Indian's.

$30 billion to India and $8 billion to Pakistan. That's nearly four times more.

You want help from Pakistan? F&*^@ &@!

India's Stakes In The Middle East - Forbes

It is them that brokered peace amongst your leaders, it is them that financed so many of your military equipment or projects (from civil to nuclear). It is them who give you cheap oil, it is them who finance hospitals and schools across your ravaged countryside, it is them who have accepted millions upon millions of your workers, it is them who provide immediate foreign exchange so that your foreign exchange reserves remain stable.

Pakistanis are quite happy to have these things from the Arabs, but want to be treated like how they treat Turkey when the time comes for them to expect returns for what they have done for you.

Thats not how things work.

India's stakes in Middle East are commercial in nature.

This is what the Arabs do for Pakistan:
Best to be aware:
Just simple examples:
UAE-funded school in Pakistan ready to open | The National
UAE opens 40 schools in Pakistan

$108 million hospital for Pakistan from UAE
UAE-funded Dh5.8m medical training centre opens in Pakistan | The National

UAE PAP implements humanitarian projects at a cost of US$ 320 million - Pakistan | ReliefWeb
UAE to start 21 new projects in Pakistan - Emirates 24|7

They don't give aid to India. So it is logical, that they will ask Pakistan for help and threaten Pakistan. Pakistan was surely not complaining when they were accepting all the aid.
You are conveniently forgetting what they have done.

.
I know the ills of my people. But this is a specific issue I've only witnessed with Arabs, not all, but some, generally speaking the wealthy Arabs who have their entire gig paid for them and then some.

I can acknowledge the problems of Pakistanis, I bark about them here all the time. And I accept them. But this specific issue, I have yet to come across in any other people.

Then you should visit a few more European capitals and the US. Then you would realize that such behavior is found among almost any nationality. You know what? It only takes a few google searches to realize that this kind of cheating is used by any nationality and ethnicity on almost every field. There are several firms that specialize in this and where you can order written assignments, papers etc. on every field. Based in Europe, the US, China etc.

Also it's not wise to compare Pakistanis born and breed in the West with temporary students from abroad. What is the situation in Pakistan again in terms of literacy rates? Are there not more illiterate people in Pakistan than people in KSA? If one was really malicious one could also draw many conclusions based on such information and generalize a whole nationality.

.
That is organized cheating! :D

But then, the academic world somewhere, has to catch up to reality existent in the world. It is sad though.

Earning off other people's stupidity is what it is.

I even came across a girl who seemed to have money to burn, too bad her wits couldn't really compete her wealth, she was foolish enough to go telling people that she paid others to do her work, yours truly included.

See that's where you're wrong about Pakistanis, while I wholeheartedly agree, we are definitely stupid enough to do this too. We're not nearly as rich enough, stupidity alone doesn't qualify someone to behave like this.

And maybe you're right, but I'm telling you in my experience, I've not come across it any other situation.

Issues like these are quite welcome because you finally get to see who is who and what is what. I remember when i lived in abu dhabi and when pakistan tested those nukes. EVeryone was celebrating. Arab and pakistani. Then the americans sanctioned pakistan. I remember the saudis bailed out pakistan with free petrol. That made alot of folks happy.

However i was struck by something that just occured to me now. My best friend a pathan from peshawar said the poor arabs giving money and aid to pakistan thinking this all for bhai bhai things are sorely going to be disappointed because pakistan is in this for their own interests. Ofcourse i didnt believe him and argued with him. Told him dont be jealous coz his love afghanistan never gets the same love and attention from arabs.

but it turns out he was right after all. The pakistani folks here have no idea no idea the damage this has caused. To make a long story short the yemen issue started because the ex president saleh wants revenge for being overthrown in 2011 during the arab spring revolution. He figured the only ones strong enough to give him that was the houthis.

Now lets back up. The houthis took dammaj and burned it down. No one said anything. Then they went to amran. Then village after village. People started warning folks about the houthis but he gulf didnt care because they didnt think the houthis would go far enough to he capital. But voila last sept with the help of saleh they took over the capital Alarm bells started ringing. Houthis became a mini hezballah. every single state insitution was taken over. The president hadi was locked up along with his ministers In the end hadi manged to escape to aden.

Now here is the fun begins. The new king salman is a different kind of king. The previous king always relied on amreeka for assistance and support. Now in the old days amreeka would kiss saudi ***. Not obama. Obama will sell his own grand mother to get hug from iran and the ayatollahs. The old king didnt realise that. Which is why iran today controls FOUR ARAB CAPITALS. Baghdad damascus beirut and sanaa, Iranians were confident.

New king salman says to houthis and saleh. Aden is a red line. South yemen is a redline. Iran probably thought this new king is the same old pussy from the old years so houthis said yeah whatever and they invaded aden. It didnt take long for the saudis to respond. Which is why iran is in a shock right now. Have you seen lebanese channels. hezballah iran and all their friends are shocked angry cursing saudis. I mean same guys are busy raping their way into syria and iraq are now upset.

But here's the point. The new king is more proactive. He wants to depend less on america. More on himself and his allies. He saw how the previous king being docile fool allowed iran to encircle saudi arabia. New king is having none of that. Now the saudis thought pakistan were their allies. They chose you guys for a reason. All those years of close economic and military coperations meant something more than just transactional value to the saudis.

So when pakistan said no, the reaction was one of disbelief. Now its been replaced by anger. Common words like sold out, users posers, unreliable are coming out. It's funny though coz one of my friends who lives in saudi says his indian mate is taking the mickey out of him for trusting pakistanis. But for the saudis its not a laughing matter. One saudi analyst said it best. If pakistan would not fight alongside the saudi army against a gang of houthi thugs, then there is no way they could be trusted in a real war with a real enemy army.Already some folks are saying stop giving money to pakistan.Stop giving iqamas and financial assistance etc

I know alot of pakistanis are probably hollering and cockahoop about the whole thing. Jingoism and nationalism are great drivers and nothing gets people more roused up when you stand up to a big guy. But when the whole thing settles down and the war ends and people came back from the emotional high, folks will realise the damage that has been done. I simply cannot overstate the damage done between gulf and pakistan. When old emariti folks are upset then you know you're in for the killer. Personally my best mate, the pathan still works in abu dhabi and i hope nothing happens to him. Why should he pay because some parliamentarians in pakistan screwed up? Unfortunately arab culture places a high price on loyalty and there is no telling what the arabs would do. Especially the emaratis.

Please send all such cases my way. I love extracting money from such individuals.

It only takes common sense to realize that such cases are found everywhere, among any nationality and ethnicity. Cheating is not limited to a certain group of people. I hope that you are clever enough to realize this. As I said then there are excellent students, good students, bad students and then there are people who should not study at all. People in the last group that hail from Arab countries tend to be well off and thus they can try to cheat their way into a degree. Most others just fail after the first month. What is certain is that those groups are found everywhere. With no exception.

Because you met a few clowns (not born or breed in the West) who should not be studying the field they study from the beginning it does not make any sense to make such broad generalizations.

According to this link below then only 55% of all Pakistanis can read and write.

List of countries by literacy rate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Does that mean that every Pakistani is illiterate?

Now apply the same logic the other way around.

You can do better than that as one of the few unbiased moderators Jungibaaz.

But anyway since it's become a fashion on PDF of late to harass, provoke etc. Arabs I will leave it at that before I get banned or prevented from writing in another thread.

That is called below belt. What you guys would have done, if you did not have oil?

Let me educate you that the most important strategic asset a nation can have is to be self sufficient in food production (not having 99% literacy rate). So that it never goes hungry. And we know where you stand in that category. Slightest sanction, will make you go starving to death. It is by graciousness of the world, that you live.

Several Arab nations with little or close to no oil have vastly higher literacy rates.

What would you do without oil and gas? You would be another Tajikistan or Afghanistan. Don't worry about KSA. We have agricultural areas the size of countries. Let alone other Arab countries.

Agriculture itself originates in our lands. Read some history.

The sweet sound of a glorious oil-drenched slap
By Fahd Husain
Published: April 12, 2015

The writer is Executive Director News, Express News. He tweets @fahdhusain fahd.husain@tribune.com.pk

So finally the mouse has roared.

Parliament “desires that Pakistan should maintain neutrality in the Yemen conflict so as to be able to play a proactive role to end the crises,” declares the resolution passed by the joint session of parliament. Whoa!

And then comes the naked, blatant, shameless threat from the rich Arab sheikhs. Speaking to Khaleej Times, UAE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Dr Anwar Mohammad Gargash warned Pakistan of having to pay a “heavy price” for taking on what he called an “ambiguous stand”. He said Pakistan should take a clear position “in favour of its strategic relations with the six-nation Arab Gulf Cooperation Council”

Then this Arab sheikh vomited a gem: “The vague and contradictory stands of Pakistan and Turkey are an absolute proof that Arab security — from Libya to Yemen — is the responsibility of none but Arab countries.” Really?

So here’s the deal: for once Pakistan does not dance to the unmelodious Arab tune, and the oil-spoilt sheikhs blow a top. Well, good for us. The sheikhs can choke on their fury for all we care. This sheikh called Gargash is some non-entity whose threats we should swat like troublesome flies. But this man’s annoying words are a true reflection of the attitude that these tinpot Arab rulers harbour towards Pakistan. Their ingrained racism towards us cannot be disguised by their meaningless rhetoric about Islamic brotherhood. But the veneer of this hypocrisy is as thin as their purported friendship. These sheikhs think they have bought this country of 180 million people like they buy their gold-plated Rolls Royces. Perhaps, that’s why they have the temerity, and the cheek, to expect that we will sell the lives of our soldiers for their oil-drenched dollars. Given a choice, our rulers may have obliged them. Thank God they were never given a choice.

So now our resolution has hit this Gargash man like a stinging slap. That’s 180 million pairs of Pakistani hands slapping this Arab cheek till it turns crimson with fury, and shame. Go threaten someone else, Doctor Gargash — this nation has had enough of the likes of you and your weakling sheikhs. What good are your billions of dollars if you cannot even defend yourself?

The problem with these sheikhs and their razzle dazzle sheikhdoms is that money has not bought them wisdom. These piddling sheikhs have won a divine geological lottery that has catapulted them from camels to Ferraris. They dug their wealth, and never learnt how to create it. They then proceeded to outsource wisdom to the West while they themselves struggle to outgrow their own medieval tribal outlook towards life, the world, and Pakistan.

“The Arabian Gulf is in a dangerous confrontation, its strategic security is on the edge, and the moment of truth distinguishes between the real ally and the ally of media and statements,” Gargash tweeted sarcastically. The UAE foreign ministry retweeted this Gargash’s naked threat. A minister saying something on a public forum cannot be construed as expressing his personal opinion. The Foreign Office of his sheikhdom endorsing the statement through a retweet makes it as official as official can be. Now if a bigger sheikh decides to axe this smaller sheikh for his extremely provocative, irresponsible and poisonous statement, one can assume it was a personal opinion of an errant knave. But if this Gargash sheikh retains his job, we should be clear about the message and its threat from the sheikhs who rule this giant oil well.

A threat is only serious when it’s credible. And can hurt. This oildom can hurt us economically if it directs its petty viciousness at the Pakistanis who work there and transmit precious foreign exchange home. Yes it will hurt if this financial stream is disturbed. But this should also be a wake-up call for this nuclear-armed nation. I mean, how pathetic is this situation where a tiny piddly tribal oildom can push around a hulking 180 million strong nation boasting a standing army of nearly half a million? Yes this is the depth to which we have been flung by shortsighted, visionless incompetent patronage-driven leaders who are used to eating the crumbs thrown their way from the sheikh’s tables.

So why blame nobodys like this Gargash when we ourselves have inflicted economic weakness on ourselves and forced our dependency on these piddly sheikhdoms. We may have the big guns and the nukes that go with them, but butter? No, that’s where warped priorities bite us like a reptile on steroids.

Ask yourself: are we less dependent on these piddly sheikhdoms than we were five years ago? Ten years ago? In other words, are we better off economically in real terms so that we do not have to grovel in front of these oily sheikhs? Have these elected mandarins who sit atop our rotting patronage-based system undertaken any basic structural reforms to improve the economy? Is the tax system better? Have the public-sector enterprises, i.e., PIA, Steel Mills, etc. been restructured and reformed so they stop bleeding billions of rupees? Has a growth strategy been formulated and implemented? Have non-development expenditures been slashed? Will any of this be done any time soon?

The answer starts with an ‘N’ and ends with an ‘O’. With half their term over, the Sharifs are now focusing on winning the next elections. This means the time for tough decisions and restructuring is over, the period for wasteful, inefficient, populist measures has arrived. You want reform? Wait till 2018. At the least. And pray for an electoral miracle.

In the meanwhile, let’s at least celebrate that even empty stomachs can boast of puffed-up chests. The Pakistani parliament has taken the right decision for the right reasons, and if Gargash and his fellow sheikhs don’t like it, they can go jump into their oil wells. Who knows, this may save them the trouble of fighting for their own honour, with their own troops.

You are not wrong in certain ways. This is at its core an Arab Persian conflict... two mentalities that are "bigger" than Pakistan when they think of their stature. There were no "good guys" here either. The Arabs had been screwing the Persians elsewhere, and the Persians decided to respond in kind.. Pakistan was caught literally between a rock and a hard place.. the position the parliament took... was not wrong... but their phraseology was incorrect.

Worry about yourself. You guys had some underground fossil water and used it up to manage a fake agriculture sector for a few years. But those underground fossil water reservoirs were not renewable and are drying up. Fast. After that, you guys will have two choices: Import or using Mammoth nuclear powered water desalination projects to make water for agriculture.

Since you guys do not have any nuclear technology and can not make your own nuclear fuel, import is the only option left. For a population that has grown way above what the land and its natural resources can actually sustain.

If ever you are sanctioned, or oil runs out or for whatever reason you lose the oil income (eg a breakthrough in fusion technology), then your situation will be worse than the infamous Ethiopian famine.

people think arab success is only due to oil. Having resources is one thing. Gotta manage them well. Look at nigeria and venezuala. Blessed with oil and they are both run like donkey countries with shit economies. Oil management is where the arabs became successful

@Daneshmand

You already experienced a famine in the 1920's that killed 40% of your entire population.

Are you joking or what?

Iran is overpopulated, your agricultural techniques are insufficient and ancient, your few remaining lakes are drying out, you have few water reserves left, your climate is getting warmer and more dry etc. You don't live in Congo but Iran. One of the driest countries on the planet.

KSA is way ahead of you and has invested in agricultural lands abroad too for safety reasons and not to overuse what is found indigenously.

Not to say that our population is 2.5 times smaller.

Just stick to Iran. You might have a bigger clue than constantly writing nonsense on Arab topics that you have no clue about.

As hateful as this may sound to some, this is some bitter truth that is widely acknowledged but rarely said. I've seen this first hand even in the UK, the engineering departments of some of these universities were flooded with Arab students mostly on scholarships and sponsorships, some working for RasGas and Saudi firms. Some of them were brilliant, some were very hard working. Others one has to wonder how on earth they made it thus far. I've met the likes of those who pay others to do their work and assignments for them, I even met a guy, some Pakistani kid nonetheless ( foolish ) who did the work for them. Other guys I've seen here, who had never been seen before in the relevant halls, theatres and labs, roll up in their sports cars wearing designer clothes, baby-faced kids driving red sports cars, never graced the rest of those students with their presence in the academic work.

Now don't get me wrong, I came across some really great Arab kids too back then. And an Arab research fellow too. It's not a general statement, but this article is right on the money.

But one thing is true, this comment that seemed a one-off is of serious concern, it should be a wake-up call.
If only there was a way to wake a nation in a self-induced coma.
Well, as much as we disagree with the reaction of certain Arab Sheikhs and their provocative statements i don't think we should use this as an opportunity to poke fun at Arab people.

Most Arabs i have met here in America tend to be very intelligent, hard working, and successful people.
