There have been many posts and threads on Muslim and Arab "struggle against" Israel and democracy so I thought I'd start a thread about the other side Pakistanis aren't likely to hear about, the Arab and Muslim supporters of freedom and those who support Israel.
Let us begin with this powerful speech from a website new to me:
PALESTINE POET, WARRIOR, 19
Created on Monday, 24 June 2013 15:00
Palestinian Farah Chamma's "How Must I believe" is a strong and engaged poem on politics, war, peace, and the pursuit of hope in a troubled Middle East. Mind-blowing.
She's only 19, but her poetry exudes the strength and maturity of a veteran activist. Farah Chamma, a Palestinian political science student in Abu Dhabi, writes poetry in English, Arabic, and French. She is one of the youngest members of Poeticians, a group of poets and writers from the Middle East based in Dubai.
"How Must I believe" is a text she wrote for "The Flex" a video-poetry project aimed at showcasing young talents from the Middle East. Her poem has recently passed the bat of 100,000 hits on Youtube. Enjoy!
