Huawei has the 7nm/5nm it needs.

Before, China used to import 400-500 billion dollars of chips from the US, Taiwan, South Korea each year.

Now, all those profits will go to the semiconductor companies from Mainland China, and it will be a desvastating blow to the western companies.

Without those profits, the western companies no longer has the capability to research the advanced chips, and China will dominate the semiconductor industry hence the high-tech industry.

The US is screwed by putting all in to strangle China in a chip war.

From what I read, Huawei chips are made by Smic using Asml chip making machines. Smic in turn is under US sanctions. It can buy DUV from Asml but not EUV machines. But it seems Smic found a way to make EUV chips using DUV machines. That’s not a revolution. But congrats. I don’t think the West is doomed my friend.

You are completely missing the point. Who says streets should have intersections that are controlled with red and green lights?

Speaking of streets why do we even need hundreds of uncovered outdoor streets between buildings in cities anymore? Especially with EVs becoming popular.

You could drive indoors. Buildings could easily span across these street gaps taking advantage of the space better. You could drive into a special vehicle area of a hotel lobby and not get wet if it was raining. All these uncovered grids of roads in city centers are an incredible waste of space. It's ridiculous if you sit down and actually think about it. These wide valleys between buildings is a design that is being carried on needlessly.

This is what I mean by why are they following a pre-done path that isn't even optimal. The running joke for the reason train rail gauges are a certain width in Europe was because the old Roman chariots left deep ruts in the road and it was just easy to drop in the rails. Groan!!

This is the fight to death for world domination between China and US, and China will use all predatory tactics to make sure that the US semiconductor/high-tech industry will be completely obliterated in this war.

They have also failed to biding their time to move the chip production out of Taiwan.

Which means that when China takes over Taiwan, and North Korea takes over South Korea, the US will lose 90% of its chips fabricants.

The only major US chip fabricant is Intel, but their chip production capability right now is insignificant compared to TSMC and Samsung.

Most US chip companies are focusing on chip design rather than fabrication process.

Now China is the only country in the world that can master from lithography machine to chip fabrication process then to chip design.
