Meeting under PM says no compromise to be made on country’s solidarity, dignity; action
against miscreants to be expedited; Nisar contacts UK officials for action against MQM chief

ISLAMABAD: Participants of a high-level meeting presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said here on Tuesday that those who speak ill of Pakistan will have to pay for it and their apology will not be accepted.

Without naming the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain, it was stated that someone living in a foreign country would not be allowed to destroy peace in Karachi. It was decided that no compromise would be made on the country’s solidarity and dignity and the operation against miscreants will be expedited.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on National Security Nasser Janjua briefed the prime minister on the meeting of the National Action Plan (NAP) implementation committee that was held a day earlier. Janjua also briefed the prime minister on various tasks that had been given to the relevant institutions.

Nawaz Sharif, during the meeting, praised the Rangers and law enforcement personnel for maintaining law and order in Karachi. The prime minister offered full cooperation on behalf of the federal government to the provincial government for maintaining peace in Karachi.

Participants of the meeting agreed that no one should be allowed to disturb the peace ofintegrity and security will be protected at all costs. They agreed that those who speak ill for Pakistan will have to pay for it.

The meeting’s participants included Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, ISI chief Lt Gen Rizwan Akhtar and Adviser to the PM on National Security Nasser Khan Janjua among others. On Monday, Altaf Hussain had instigated his supporters to attack offices of TV channels via his address from London. Altaf Hussain delivered an anti-Pakistan speech and called upon his followers to break TV channels for not providing him due coverage.

Altaf Hussain’s speech and the subsequent violence was criticised by Pakistan’s leading politicians including Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, CM Sindh Murad Ali Shah, PTI chief Imran Khan, PSP chief Mustafa Kamal and others. Nawaz Sharif had stated in categorical terms that nobody will be allowed to harm the national security and its prestige.

Responding to the controversial statement of the top MQM leader, he said in a statement that the inflammatory remarks made in Karachi against Pakistan have badly hurt the sentiments of the entire nation. “We all rose from this soil and would also end up in it. It is a must for us to safeguard the dignity of the country along with its territory,” the prime minister stated. -- Agencies

Shakeel Anjum adds: Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan contacted British high officials on Tuesday night and exchanged views regarding Monday’s speech of Altaf Hussain and incident of inciting crowd to agitation. He urged the UK government to take action against its citizen Altaf Hussain for inciting violence in Pakistan.

The Interior Ministry sources quoting the minister said that use of British soil by somebody against integrity of Pakistan and action against peace is highly condemnable. He said Altaf Hussain used derogatory language against Pakistan and Pakistani institutions which not only insulted the whole nation especially the Urdu-speaking people, but he also committed a serious crime. He said the British government should assist in bringing into ambit of law a person who was involved in a serious crime.

Nisar said it should be ensured that no miscreant escapes from the law and dare to harass the peaceful citizens. He asked Director General Rangers Sindh Major General Bilal Akbar to ensure security of all media houses in collaboration with police in Karachi, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry said.

The minister phoned the DG Rangers and expressed satisfaction on the overall law and order in Karachi and Sindh. He appreciated the performance of Rangers and police to maintain law and order in the province, especially in Karachi.

. . .
If you cannot name and shame him .............. then keep rest of your chest thumping to yourself.
Agreed. This is mere chest thumping by this pathetic excuse of a government. If they are so fucking serious why not summon British Highcommisson and launch a strong protest with him that why UK is allowing their country for anti Pakistan activities? This is all lip service and nothing more.

If they bring this shaytan to pakistan we all should stone him to death

Pakistani politicians are shameless baboons, had Altaf not made zombies to repeat his slogans or had his zombies not attacked the media houses nothing much would have happened, it would have been just another day in Pakistan's politics like all the previous anti Pakistan, anti Army slogans and statements went unheard.

You are right. Didn't we saw what happened to Achakzai? Absolutely nothing. Even with the military complaining directly to the pm. Imagine what kind of a PM he is and it so happens that people like Achakzai are his partners.
Is it a coincidence that the day pervaiz Rasheed met with MQM, this happens? I don't think so.

Its a golden chance to rid of evil of MQM for good. The strategists should not worry that much about the repercussion of banning MQM as majority of their leaders and voters would be absorbed by PSP.

The intolerance being exhibited for a person of Pakistani origin who is being hounded by so-called Pakistani nationalists is really ripe coming as it does on the back of same Pakistani folk lecturing us Indians on our so-called intolerance towards the JNU and Arundhati Roy types and other assorted anti-national vermin that crawl out of the woodwork and talk smack about the country. PDF in that way does provide this nice shiny mirror to look at the reflection of your own outward pointing fingers.

The only irony I see here is that a stronger political party is attacking a weaker political party for the same fundamental wrong-doings. Go figure...

JNU or Arundhati Roy don't hold enough power to shutdown a major city for days or they cannot even think of getting somebody killed overseas. The person under debate has and can kill 1000s and burn and shutdown city.

Keep your luli out of this there is no comparison here.

Listen my little bharti friend, we call ourselves an Islamic Republic, whereas your nation is deemed as a bastion of democracy and secularism by your own people. You Indians love to rub our faces in your secularism, but have a hard time playing the game because, when it comes to the rules of being a secular/liberal nation, you people have no will whatsoever. There is no need for a comparison with Pakistan, when your basic ideology is 180 degrees different from ours. Drawing comparisons at this point makes you bhartis and your nation look bad. We weren't the ones chest thumping, but you guys definitely were. Think about that for a second...

And if the British tell them that no British law has been violated (as they've kept this murderer there for a reason), what do you do? Go to War with the UK? When the problem is inside your own home? How are the fu*king people so crazy to listen to the violent calls and go do violence whether its Altaf or Imran? There should be a law banning all violent activities, whether through sit-ins or otherwise. You can't be fooling public and the public shouldn't act like total fools either.

Did the people in Karachi and in IK's failed sit-in not realize these are anti Pakistani activities? Many of you supported storming and taking down the National TV and your Parliament during IK's sit-ins. Today, the same people are bi*tching about it, how stupid and hypocritical is that? You the PEOPLE have to use your brains and reject calls to violence that these childish and small-minded, self-centered and selfish politicians do!!
