Apache down-selected for Bangladesh attack helicopter requirement

An excellent choice. I hope the deal is inked soon.
I hope now the BAF goes for the Superhornet, Boeing would be very partial to that and throw in things.
Make Bangladesh strong bros.
Post #87 elaborates below some important points on Apaches and future 12 units of twin-engine fighter planes from the US source:

"To start the process, Bangladesh agreed to sign two critical agreements with the US, the Acquisitions and Cross Servicing Agreement (ACSA) and the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA)".

"It will take up to four years to negotiate and sign both agreements, though it is possible that preliminary negotiations for major defence equipment could occur concurrently".

"It should be noted that the GSOMIA and ACSA serve an essential role in supporting US security interests in the Pacific Ocean. Thus, the importance of the US’ negotiations with Bangladesh on these fronts should not be underestimated, it could amount to significant procurements through the 2020s. So, in addition to attack helicopters, might it look to Boeing for a new multi-role combat aircraft as well? It is worth noting that the Bangladesh Air Force’s (BAF) initial new fighter requirement (set under a tender in 2017) was for up to 12 twin-engine fighters".

Super hornet is much better choice compared to flanker, they are more robust and had excellent record for all rounded fighter.

https://www.businessinsider.com/isiss-plan-to-destroy-american-helicopters-2014-10

The link above says the ISIS compiled an instruction manual on how to destroy American Apache by a shoulder-held MANPAD. Is it true that an Apache can be killed by a novice who knows how to handle MANPAD. After all, Helis flow very low making it an easy target.

I hope, our defense experts have taken notice of this possibility.

ISIS in Iraq and Syria had been pounded into oblivion by sheer airpower and numerous precision attack by MALE UAV.

Attack helicopter like Apache is geared toward near peer adversary, to blunt their armored attack with casualties bound to happened surely, thats why US Army operating great number of almost 800 units.

But will also need pilots to be trained more and utilize use of more strategies because its inherently less maneuverable than sukhoi 30s

Super hornet is better as it has more reliable engines, better radar/avionics and missiles. Sukhoi wins in terms of range and payload. Russia cannot be trusted in terms of conflict with either India or Myanmar and so pointless buying from them.

US weapons are more reliable and better than Russia's as well.

Not to add that even if Russian weapons are cheaper, they tend to become more expensive in the long term due to high maintenance costs, not to add the scarce and difficult availability of spare parts Russia provides. Many armed forces who buy Russian weapons are experiencing this.

It is not like BD likes USA weapons because they are more reliable and less maintenance platforms.... It's commonality of the platform being worked out between India and Bangladesh as they are strategic allies .... Apache is a start of this... Next step MIG 35 from Russia... :enjoy:

Will you stop bullshitting about this strategic ally crap on every single thread. We are not allies not even friends. India is a potential enemy and the bigger threat comparing to MM!!!
And as I said in the BAF thread going for Russian MiG-35 will be the absolute mistake. Also right now there is a higher chance of getting western platforms than those nightmarish Russian birds. I'm not saying they are junks but service life cost will far exceed what we will have to pay for western birds. Russia is also known as unreliable supplier concerning spares and maintenance. This fact is all the more true regarding BD because Russia is already in MM camp so to speak!!!

Are you attached to the US and Indian intelligence agencies that you know so many confidential matters? But, unfortunately, you are not aware of how allergic our armed forces are with the Indian forces. Our forces have so far not bought one screwdriver from India. Your credit money is rotting in your own bank vault.

The USA certainly knows it well. So, do not dream of a strategic alliance between BD and India. America has directly involved us with their strategy. It is not because of you though we sometimes give you some lip service.
