For indo pak we have movies like border and LoC
both are quite good

Try LOC Kargil. Historically accurate to a large degree and the Pakistanis are shown properly.

There is a movie on the India China conflict, but can't recollect.

I'm a more up untill the 19th century kind of history buff but thanks for suggestions.

Indian movies are all about dancing singing and emotion. No real stories. Based on fiction only.
Have a look at movie "Border

"

Not action movies.Historical war movies. If i wanted action movies i could see Expendables 3,lol.

The issue with Indian movies is that they can hardly make a movie without romantic bullshit so for any war movie you watch, the chances are you are going to watch a romantic movie on top of a war theme. That being said, Bollywood does make good movies in other genres.

I think Asian Red Cliff would be a good choice?

I was reading on that period so i wanted to know if there are some good war movies.
Indians don't love such genre, historical war would be wrapped around a love story and presented with healthy dose of dance numbers.

There are dramas set in those period about wars but I don't think you would be interested in those.

When I was a kid I saw a piece of that movie while switching channel. I can guarantee that this must be the most messed up action movie of the history of Bollywood.

.
I saw The Patriot ,a few times.Fetih 1453.....maybe tonight,if i'm on 13-15 beers level but i even doubt that.It's crappy/
Kingdom of Heaven was good. Fetih did make things too 'romantic' at times. But Saladin was cool.

Haqeeqat?
Perfect. :D

Yes, it showed the desperate situation quite well.

Hungry, undersupplied soldiers fighting a hopeless battle against insurmountable odds and finally failing with all hands lost. It was good considering the time.

Well you should watch this movie called Ashoka. Decent movie, bollywoodised history though. Period set is in b.c.
The other movies are mostly movies from 70s set in regional language not perse war movies. You can look up on this movie called Mangalore Pandey, deals with 1857 first war of independence or the sepoy mutiny. Have not watched it myself but I heard its good.

If you want indo pak war movies then Border is heavily bollywoodised but based on true events. Other decent movie is Lakshya , one of my favs its about kargil war. Personally my favor Hindi movie.

PS- very very very very. Very rarely you find Indian movies without singing and dancing lol

I watched it and was going to recommend it but the issue is some fictional love story was inclided on top of the real story and it ended up making the love story as the main theme.

Well, about Fetih,if even Turkish members say it's crap than you know to stay away from that one.KoH was good, but i saw it like 5 times, including the extended version.Same for Braveheart,Patriot,Gods and Generals,Tora Tora Tora,Patton, the Fall of the Roman Empire,Gladiator,Cleopatra,El Cid, Last Samurai,Kagemusha,A Bridge To Far,etc

Saw Red Cliff.I'm usually very dissapointed when they focus on romance while pushing history under the bus.I got dissapointed like that in that movie about the British Sudan campaign...."four feathers",i think. What a turd !

Plus, wth Chinese movies you get those over the top fighting scenes.Don't like those.
