Dad age nearly 60
PSA 4.44ng
free PSA 0.59ng
Doctor said need biopsy as PSA crossed 2.5ng ..PSA shouldn't cross 2.5ng ..There is possibility of cancer ... i am worried about it... Is there possibility of cancer ...

What are the cut off level for PSA...

prostate size 5.2×4.9×4.8=63.6gms prostate enlarged collection or distended bowel loops seen peritoneal cavity..as well free fluids..

as far as i know PSA 0-4 is normal,,,,more thn 10 is suggestive of cancer,,,,,,dont know about free psa.....
though size suggests stage 3 BPH.....

yes But BPH is enlarged ... is there any possibility elevated PSA is due to BPH ..I know BPH is non cancerous.. He is almost 60y ears old.. and prostate size is 63.6gms. .. how much possibility is there fr cancer and non cancer...

My Dad had,,Enlarged Prostates,,,

Symptoms were,,,,,,,,,,,,Sudden attacks of shivering, Morning & Evening as if it was programmed to come on that time only,,,
Urine test revealed Infection & only when CT scan was done Enlarged Prostate was shown The reason for all the trouble.

Had to be operated.

It may be just an Enlarged Prostate also,,,Nothing to worry as such in that case,,,
Cancer part no idea Bro..

This doctor making us panicked ... saying possibility is more because 4.44 TPSA.

pain during urination as well heat... indigestion ... now relieved some how... slow urination. ..midnight he woke up 1 or 2 times for urination...
