The real truth is Ukraine never had a real military. Their military has always been an extention of the Russian military. That is how they have always operated. Without Russia, its advisors and its military equipment ukraine is nothing militarily.

If Russia got involved in this war in earnest, you would have almost the entire ukrainian army switch sides instantly.

Now as to the specifics of your question. Ukraine sent in the few special forces and trained soldiers it had into Novo Rossiya in the beginning. They were annihilated. Now they have conscripts that get a week of training if they are lucky and they are not fed or equipped. The little equipment they do get is usually from private donations. I mean its really pathetic for a standing army.

The rest of their fighting force is made up of volunteer battalions that are basically private armies paid for by the oligarch governors that they junta installed. These are very poorly trained neo nazis mostly from western ukraine. They are worthless in battle and dedicate most of their time to attacking civilians.

The ukrainian military is falling apart and crumbling before the worlds eyes. They cant keep this up another two months and then winter starts and then its over. You think being ill equipped is bad, try fighting in one meter of snow in -30 degree weather without thr proper equipment. Its going to be very painful for those facists.

I personally hope the ukies lay down their arms and go back home, take care of their dictators in kiev and start rebuilding whats left of their country. But they want to do things the hard way. Let them get baked then.

That is, they will not get preferential status of combatants, and in the case of injury army will not pay for treatment or prosthesis. Officers steal money and products that send relatives to forcibly mobilized soldiers. Officers and their "business partners" are selling to their soldiers fake body armor.
