Anti-India Anger in Nepal as Flow of Essential Supplies Dries Up

I propose for an underground tunnel with oil, gas, internet and electricity facilities. It can be a transit for vehicles and trains as well. Which will be later connected with Chinese highway and railway through Nepal.

I think Nepal has lots of eco-friendly Hydro-Power electricity generation potential. Bangladeshi businessmen can invest in those provided electricity transmission to Bangladesh can be assured through the chickens' neck. Stringing fifty miles of 233 KV electricity transmission line is simple here in Bangladesh. We have done this in less than a couple of months.

In return - we can provide them all kinds of export-quality items (not the least high-quality winterwear, mountaineering shoes, white goods, small appliances etc.) at very reasonable cost. In fact I believe Bangladeshi products are already cornering some small niche markets in Nepal. This was done AFAIK without any govt. to govt. involvement.

I remember seeing lots of Japanese cars in Kathmandu. Are those imported through our Mongla port or through Kolkata?

@Viva would you have any idea?

Sorry but its not us who brought in China card. It is india who is obsessed with china.

Thank you for calling us smart.

There is a lot of articles in your tip if you click in google ,articles written by eminet intel officials like BRaman about the Indian intel reach in SAARC nation including Nepal.
Nepal authorities knows all that yet they demonstrated audacity to itch us .
When we visited the Vietnam for oil exploration they also see that with concern.Because every major nations cares about their national security. If you played with that you played with national security .
Noonations cant tolerate that.
Remenber what happened to Ukraine when they unwantedly scorned Russia for some benefits from EU.Neither West nor Russia suffered but Ukraine.

You can call obessession or whatever you want. But this is the reality.
Your leaders earned a lots of bribes from China and caused this menace to your people.

The investment is not the issue the transmission line however is.

The transmission line needs to pass through chicken neck.
Nepal uses only kolkata port. It however started doing homework on using Bangaldeshi ports but the chicken neck is creating issues.
Yes bangladesh cottons are being used by Nepali brands. Maybe bangaldeshi electronics too can have a good market. Japanese cars, Korean cars are all imported through kolkata port.
Only if we could build overhead highways to connect Nepal and Bangladesh. We could really work together. Nepal could sell BangLadesh vegetables, milk, cheese, butter , herbs etc. It would be wonderful journey together. No bullying but just mutual respect to each other .

Wow so you openly support Russia for crimea? And maybe America for bombing afganistan and iraq too. Ukraine is an independent countries and it is free to take descision on its own. Not listen to some big bad bully. And Russia thought it could easily get away with it, but the world is always watching. If Ukraine took a descision as an independant nation that Russia dint want then I donot think its Ukraine's mistake. Russia is still dealing with losses it had to suffer as the world chose not to keep quite and act.

Nepal had issues with India exploring oil mines in Vietnam? Did Nepal have any concern when India developed Nuclear missile?

You know how many articles we read about what India wants in Nepal and yet we chose not to care or listen to it until now. We thought these are mere commies obsessed with India. But how India placed an embargo made things crystal clear.
And again I am tired of explaining that to everyone that even non protest areas have blockades.
And stop insulting the great man by using his photo as DP and having thoughts like these. Where you encourage bullying and not respect the countries sovereignity. I advise you to read APJ Kalam's beautiful and subtle quotations.

Is Bangladesh route is cheaper?

For future work with China to get access to CPEC which will allow you another route for supplies specially oil and gas.
Tracks to China oepned yesterday morning and India apparently officially called off unofficial blockade yesterday evening. I dont trust them so easily.
There was time when we so grandly welcomed Modiji on streets and today even a 2 year old kid is saying #backoffindia .

Very appropriate - mutual respect is the key word. We will stand next to our Nepali brothers and sisters in happiness as well as in times of need. A hearty Namaste to all Nepalis from Bangladesh...:-)

The blockade whether official or not was a major case of lapse of Judgement on behalf of Indian Foreign Service. No ifs and buts. The situation has been rectified to some extent, I believe.

Nepal is a sovereign nation and it is to our benefit that Nepal has close ties with India. We should not mistake the closeness borne out of strong cultural ties as a license to interfere in Nepalese issues, hopefully the same has been absorbed by Indian polity and bureaucrats responsible for present state of affairs.

It takes decades to build a trust, respect and friendship and all but a moment to destroy it. I hope Nepal would consider it as a blip in what has been a fruitful relationship and would not let this affect our ties borne out of centuries long mutual camaraderie.

Regards

CPEC LOL!

Anyway it is pretty clear now that there is no blockade from India's side and its the Nepalis who are unable to control their own ethnic divide and only blaming India to further vilify the Madhesi people.

Nepalis should man up and clean up their mess instead of blaming it on India. Their politicians and govt are famously incompetent, so blaming others is the natural reaction.

Give whatever long delusional and distorted "facts" you want to give.

But don't forget, Nepal still holds the trump card. One visit from president Xi to Nepal and India will be begging Nepal to accept all those trucks and what not!

This is the only way for the smaller nations like Bhutan, Myanamar and Nepal to bring this out-of-control bully to behave like a civilized country!

This is a Pakistanis wet dream..

lets hear what China and India has to say about it....

India asks Nepal to solve crisis, warns against ‘China card’ | india | Hindustan Times

we know who is in charge,so are Nepalis. The whole world is not Pakistan's wet dream.if it was,Bilawal Bhutto wouldn't have to yell,"Lavenge Lavenge Kashmir" nearly after 70 years..:rofl::rofl:

India have nothing to do with CPEC why poking your nose in it? If another country can benefit from hit then why you are burning?

Could not agree more.

Why don't you use CPEC to resolve the crisis in Syria? Isn't that more urgent than Nepal internal political dispute?

I'm not poking my nose into CPEC, but just throwing CPEC around as if its Dumbledore's wand makes you look very ill informed on just about everything.

BTW CPEC goes through occupied Indian territory :)

What is the latest situation in Nepal now?

Has the bully (India) come to her senses yet?

In longer terms Nepal really has to diversify the communication links, it can not let India bullying it forever!

And @Indians (at least some of them) who are bragging about RAW presence in other neighboring countries who would not let any country in the region decide something that goes against Indian interests, go §$% yourself!

Indian cross-boder terrorism is a major problem in the region, it is absolutely condemnable and not something you should take pride in!!

No not yet. Yesterday they told Nepalese ambassador that they have already asked officials at customs to halt unofficial embargo. And today 60 Nepali oil Tankers went to siliguri to fill up their tanks through non protest kakarvitta route and they allowed to fill only 6 tanks. NOC replied right away that we want petrol to run economy of this country and not to spray a perfume and refused to import 6 oil tankers.

Very unfortunate!

We stand by Nepalese people. These hard days will finally pass. Standing for just cause will reward Nepal in the longer term!

Wish we could do something to help the population (and no, not due to some sick politics, but purely on humanity grounds).

Right now we are in no position. But inshallah brother we will work together someday.
Pakistan and Nepal use to have closer ties before but today we missed out on our way.
Peace and love.
