Anti Ballistic Missile Ashwin testfired successfully

After Insas, Akash, Nirbhay, LCA, Kaveri this missile is as usefull as a indian built inflatable dinghy made of cheese

Unless of course they had israeli and russian

No, Barak 8 is effective against Ballistic missiles too if not Barak 8ER will do complete job against AShM ballistic missiles
Barak-8 is not an anti ballistic missile... it have Flight ceiling of apprx. 18km only...
while an anti ballistic missile need at least 30 km Flight ceiling. while our AAD have 30km Flight ceiling, Prithvi defense vehicle have an altitude of 80km and Prithvi interceptor missile (PDV) have 150km Flight ceiling.

No it has very limited anti ballistic missile defense capabilities.

Ah, a wisecrack from a pakistani.
Pakistanis clearly don't have the gall or the capacity to make something themselves but it is okay as long as they can criticize Indians.

Have a good night, maybe you'll sleep better knowing you contributed................to something.:coffee:

In its effort to have a full fledged multi-layer Ballistic Missile Defence system, India on Sunday successfully test-fired its indigenously-developed supersonic interceptor missile, capable of destroying any incoming hostile ballistic missile, from a test range off Odisha coast.

“The test conducted to validate various parameters of the interceptor in flight mode has been successful,” Defence Research Development Organisation (DRDO) sources said.

The interceptor was engaged against a target which was a naval version of Prithvi missile launched from a ship anchored inside Bay of Bengal, taking up the trajectory of a hostile ballistic missile.

The target missile was launched at about 11.15 hours and the interceptor, Advanced Air Defence (AAD) missile positioned at Abdul Kalam island (Wheeler Island) getting signals from tracking radars, roared through its trajectory to destroy the incoming hostile missile in mid-air, in an endo-atmospheric altitude, the sources said.

“The ‘kill’ effect of the interceptor was ascertained by analysing data from multiple tracking sources,” a DRDO scientist said.

The interceptor is a 7.5-meter long single stage solid rocket propelled guided missile equipped with a navigation system, a hi-tech computer and an electro-mechanical activator, the DRDO sources said.

The interceptor missile had its own mobile launcher, secure data link for interception, independent tracking and homing capabilities and sophisticated radars, the DRDO sources added. — PTI

Come back when you all build a Pakistani Truck... oh I forgot.... lets leave that , I will take even a 100c.c. motor cycle... till then don't troll.

our pigeons are in grave danger now

We need titanium or composite armour plating for them, HIT should do something.

Averting the detonation before it reaches critical terminal delivery time.
i don't think barak - 8 is linked to long range radars to provide enough warning time to to launch Brack-8 before the warhead reach the target. at terminal phase the missile warhead is moving at a speed of mach - 15 to mach 20, that means a radar of range 300km will give barak-8 a few seconds to intercept the missile..

lol... look who is talking about titanium and composite armour??:lol:
buddy.. even your so called indigenous Chinese made JF-17 don't have this...

Prove it,

if JF -17 is pakistani, then this missile is Indian as well. If Google or Apple hires engineers from other countries, the product belongs to Google or Apple not to the engineers.
Hasnt India been working on AAD since like 2008 or something? does Barak fit into any of the AAD roles?
I think the Indian thinking is this:
all higher powered and superior fire power would be imported (Rafale, Barak, reapers, T 90, Sukhois so on)
some high/medium fire power to be joint ventures (howitzer type guns, sub based missiles)
most lower end fire power to be local produce (insas guns, LCA, CMs and BMs)

they are trying to move up the value chain.

Man ABM is fully indigenous. No country is going to provide you that type of tech.
Barak is joint venture
T-90 is 90% indigenous including all its armour (Kanchan ) main gun fume extractor etc
Sukohi many parts including mfd is of indian manufacture
No matter how much of local content you add to T 90 or Sukhoi 30, they would remain Russian products. If Foxconn makes Apple iPhones (fully indigenous to China) the product does not belong to Foxconn. Sure, they can sell it, but the brain trust behind making the product belongs to Apple.

T 90 and Sukhoi 30 have been "indianized" but it was built by russia as per specifications given by India.

truly indigenous products need to have design and dev both in house. The Indian Aircraft carriers, Frigates and Corvettes are probably the most "indigenous" in the Indian line up.
