“On hearing that the victim [Singh] died at the hospital, outraged people started demanding the police to kill the accused [Rain], who is undergoing treatment there. Following this, the matter escalated and angry locals broke open the gate of the emergency [ward],” reported India Today on October 5, 2019.

How many times do the locals demand to kill/come in support of one rowdy sheeter against another? There wasn't a communal motive but the locals and the Jai Shree Ram chanting hindu goons did make it communal.

D. Raja is right.

Mohan Bhagwat is being ridiculous in saying that news of mob lynchings in India are a Western conspiracy. The lynchers are not coming from Germany specially to lynch Dalits, Muslims and women. I included women because the women victims are being lynched on suspicion of kidnapping children or doing witchcraft. Seven decades after Independence, many in India still believe in superstitions such as witchcraft. Nehru would be turning in his grave.
