Another Indian shot dead in US

You are welcome to your opinions buddy.

The only Indians jumping to defend the Americans are the ones living there or having business there.

It's clear that the US taps the net. And such Indians are mortally terrified of getting added to a watch list database.

No such fears here for this Indian. We live here and do our business here.

Cheers.
Everything I said was fact not opinion. You can believe whatever you want.

I just wanted to point out that India is not the center of the world and Americans are highly unlikely to fiddle around with their judicial system at the beck and call of India. If you want to fool yourself that's your prerogative.

Ciao!

You are talking about facts. Fine. I am talking about facts too.

A large part of the Indian community in Seattle (especially the surds) is not new fresh off the boaters. They've been American for over a century.

Enough time for the local redneck to know who they were and where they came from.

These same Indians have been complaining of increasing intolerance targeting them as INDIANS.

They live there. You saying they are lying? Being paranoid conspirationalists? Making things up? Overreacting? Unnecessarily playing victim?

This is a 110 year old community.

And I've been to and lived in Seattle over the past 10 years. Many times ...

This is a race and job resentment thing morphing into an ugly beast suddenly given freedom in the new political climate.

Much like the ugly black Hindutvawadi pustules in our own country.

Cheers. Or as a paindu would say, Kudos.

They maybe a 110 year old community, but they look out of place because they still wear their medieval clothing. Surds main problem is that they are frequently mistaken for the Taliban by the general public. Again, as I already said nobody knows anything about Sikhs, they do however see the Taliban in their tv screens everyday.

The Amish have been living in America for considerably longer than the Seattle sikhs and they still get bullied because they plain look weird. People are mean to them simply for the fun of it. They too insist on wearing centuries old clothing and living a life that people do not understand. Their fellow normal modern Swiss meanwhile have no problem blending in and living with other modern peoples.

Much like the ugly black Hindutvawadi pustules in our own country.

Don't be an idiot. You are not exactly a salman khan look alike yourself!

. .
You caught the right point mate..There are few reasons. They are not pretending to be Indian but are just accepting the simple truth that we all are Indians , one people bound by blood and history.

a Pakistani is a citizen of the Islamic republic of Pakistan , but an Indian is anyone from the species indo sapiens .

If you see the history of the civilisation and the recent history of the subcontinent you can see how absurd the "2 nation theory" is . you may argue that at the time of partition they were under the british divide and rule influence and had serious communication gaps , but let me remind you this : there were some muslims who migrated from the going to be Pakistan region due to patriotism but there were no hindus , sikhs , jains or parsis who migrated to going to be pakistan.

so does that make followers of the 2 nation theory narrow-minded , intolerant ignorant bigots ?
from my point of view : YES

now , do the people of the subcontinent(not the ignorant ones) consider each other their brethren ? : YES

Is the Indian cultural Identity confined to only the Republic of India ? : NO

So technically , is a Pakistani/~ origin person eligible to identify themselves as "Indian" ? : YES :D

Nice post sir.

Beware of sanghi backlash.

Amish don't get shot. Couple of dead Indians last week were not sikhs but among brown nations they stick out like sore tumb which is good enough reason for racists to kill them. Iranians on the other hand blend in better then Indians.

12,000 murders take place in USA every year. A single killing out of 12,000 proves nothing.

How when they are told to go back to their country before getting shot?

Let me tell you a few home truths. Don't take my word for it, check with any US person.

Americans are a very insular people. The average American will not be able to point out Germany on the map let alone India.

That's a popular stereotype, and as with all stereotypes has some validity, but it's hyperbolic and exaggerated.

Here: India in blue including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, but excluding disputed territories, and Germany in Green.

worldblank_bw.jpg

Want to play another round? And yes we Americans are very insular, like the rest of the world. We care most about our nation.

India gets absolutely NO news coverage whatsoever in the US.

You get the coverage you look for. We have a vibrant media landscape with outlets covering every nation, every slat and every viewpoint. From RT to CCTV, The Guardian to Breitbart, Al Jazeera to NDTV. We offer whatever you want and yes, India gets coverage. It's just up to you to find it.

CNN, MSNBC, Fox News, that's not the depth of the US media landscape. If you want coverage of India, there's an outlet willing to accommodate. The major outlets do cover India too, BTW.

If you ask the average person where India was they would assume it is somewhere in Africa or South America.

South Asia actually. Pakistan, Sri Lanka, the Maldives, Nepal, Bhutan, Afghanistan and Bangladesh round out the South Asian sub-continent.

Would you like me to highlight them on a map too?

Another home truth, they have rule of law in America, you can't just cover up stuff.

It's not the rule of law, but the vibrancy of investigations, a distrust of government that makes people question the official narrative, a culture of leaks - as Trump and Obama had grappled with that outed everything from the mundane to the criminal - and people's interest in information. The rule of law is often trumped by personal ethics, especially in regards to governmental leaks, such as those of policy drafts, conversations and the like.

139618654.jpg

Chelsea Manning leaked information to WikiLeaks out of ethical concerns for cover-ups in the military, as well as leaking mundane diplomatic information. It wasn't the rule of law, but ethical concerns.

The rule of law sentenced Manning to prison time, while the rule of law also pardoned her.

Cover-ups happen too, often for years before some journalist, concerned government worker, happened passerby or government looking to clean-house leaks the information or comes clean. I'd wager cover-ups are ongoing as we sit here and write, and they'll be made evident one day too... or maybe not.

Feel free to believe whatever conspiracy you want to but Try not to live in that puffed up make-belief world like a typical south Asian frog in the well.

I'm an American citizen, educated in the United States at both a primary and collegiate level, a product of the infamously terrible US education system, the world you're offering is not representative of "most Americans". It is, in your own words a "puffed up make-belief world"

True many of us simply don't care one way or another about outside concerns, like Hinduism, and I'll profess an ignorance on the matter, but that doesn't mean we haven't heard of it either, we have our interests. I doubt you could give a qualitative rundown of our government, which is a matter of interest to many Americans. It doesn't mean that cover-ups don't happen because we have evidence to the contrary. Or we're really that bad at geography, we even make helpful maps to soothe our short-attention spans while simultaneously educating us. Helping us remember where countries are, and reinforcing our stereotypes about them.

00zeIky.png

But your views are hyperbolic. Instead of offering another to ask Americans on this forum to confirm your views, why don't you ask Americans on this forum and see if your views match with their reality?

You'll find we're more well versed then you'd otherwise think.

I think this violence is against Indians because they are Indians.

I don't buy the stories of mistaken identity and statistics floating around.

Kudos.

Its not mistaken identity. Average jobless see Microsoft CEO being Indian origin and ask wtf is macaca doing there, I likely can do better job then him.

Average American isn't that stupid, they just blame moozlim after shooting Indians to get less backslash. There is jealousy factor involved, they see Indians with H1B visas direct threat to their jobs. They are also not accustomed to see so many black *** people in rich areas where whites used to dominate.

HOw about do better in life instead of being jealous-message to dumb red neck retards.

PS: Indians normally celebrate and dance with joy when something happens to an Arab or a Muslim in USA. You see these clowns thinking they have joined the White club.

ere: India in blue including the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, but excluding disputed territories, and Germany in Green.

You are not the "average American" . No average American would be wasting time on an esoteric site like PDF. my guess, you are either a student of international relations, politics or such or somehow related to defence or the state dept in some way. I did not say NO American knows where India is, I said the AVERAGE man on the street does not.

I have had the good fortune to travel a little through the US. I was constantly mistaken for Mexican, including even by Mexicans themselves, who would approach me in friendly Spanish babble. I would have happily gone along with it, except that I do not understand a word of Spanish. They were often affronted when I told them I do not understand because they thought I was putting on airs.

Several times I explained I came from India, only to be met with blank stares. When I explained it was a country "near China" they got it. China , they had heard off. Maybe from the backs of all the goodies in Walmart. Once in a pub, I was approached with "so what is a Muslim like you doing in a bar? " I assume they though I was Muslim because I was brown. The only time I was recognized as Indian was in Dallas, because they have a huge Indian population there. I know this is personal anecdotes and not statistics, but I only have my own experience to go by. I am not saying that Americans are more insular than any other population, believe me the average Indian couldn't tell the difference between the Sudan or Mongolia either. All I am saying is that most Americans don't know much or indeed anything about India or Indians.

It's not the rule of law, but the vibrancy of investigations, a distrust of government that makes people question the official narrative, a culture of leaks - as Trump and Obama had grappled with that outed everything from the mundane to the criminal - and people's interest in information. About rule of law.. yes, I do understand that the law is different for different people in America. The poor black man does not receive the same justice as teddy Kennedy...

However, we are talking on a different scale altogether. In India, the main leader of our opposition is a lady who stole $2 billion from the exchequer over a period of a decade. We voted her out, but there is no likelihood at all that she will ever face justice.

On our streets, when you get in an accident with some random young man, the first thing he says is "do you know who I am? ". Meaning " dude my dad is rich and well connected , you can't touch me"

While the very poor and the very powerful in America may have different justice systems, the scale is vastly different in India. The gentleman I was talking to meant "cover up" as in what happens daily in India if you are well connected. I don't think it is so simple in America.

You'll find we're more well versed then you'd otherwise think.

SOME of you are very well versed!

Most everyone sticks to CNN and FOX.

The guy who most people listen to on radio...I forget his name...but some fat guy on drugs with several wives. He was very popular I remember in some parts of the country. I listened to him in some road trips...got to say...that man killed a lot of my brain cells....he was an amazing propagandists of the most bizzare ideas...I'll have too google to find his name...totally forget now.

But the point is variety maybe available but the vast majority have no interest.

Yep, same experiences here. An average American is less likely to know about stuff that don't directly affect them or anything that their mainstream media doesn't cover on a regular basis - much less about India or about Indians. That is clearly not an affront to them since even an educated Indian is likely to know less about stuff that doesn't directly concern him - let alone the average, barely literate Indians.

I don't even blame Americans for that - their universe is so big, diverse and complex that it takes up all the airtime.

I've been saying essentially the same thing.

There is no mistaken identity. Or us getting mistaken for Arabs or Iranians.

This is a racist and job resentment cum general economic frustration underswell that has been there and has been building up in the Obama years.

Like the antipathy towards Indian Muslims in the UPA years in India.

The BJP coming to power in India made it ok for ugly black pustules to crawl out and be seen.

Trump coming to power has done the same for ugly red pustules.

It's uncannily the same path being followed in both countries.

Just that Indian Muslims have always been native Indians. But are seen as outsiders.

While Indians in America are actually outsiders. But in a nation where essentially all are or have been outsiders.
