'Annex part of Bangladesh' commented by a Former Indian cabinet minister

According to Bangladesh home ministry officials there are around half a million Indians illegally staying and working in Bangladesh. These Indians are mostly working in garments, NGO, IT and other sectors. Some even have shops and illegal medical diagnostics and medical practice. Not only these illegal Indians do not pay any tax but they also send millions of dollars worth money to India through illegal smuggling channel.
There are also illegals from Pakistan and Srilanka but they are very few in numbers.
Indians who seeks job in Bangladesh had and are mostly entered abusing short term tourist and on arrival visa facilities. In secretary level meeting with India, Bangladesh had raised this issue in 2007 but for obvious reason Indian side was mum on this subject. According to intelligence agencies, Indians in the Bangladesh has been used by Indian RAW in its subversive activities in Bangladesh.

1. mr. subramaniam is a lot better person ,academically n politically , than most of the ppl trolling here.
2. his remarks were insensitive n improper, esp to the ppl of the young rising nation which happens to our neighbour. talk of annexing wont solve anything but wud deter good relations between two brother countries.
3. illegal migration has been continuing since independence and ppl migrate only when they are faced with great odds in their existing situation. before independence india was poor enough. but its neighbours were poorer. bangladesh got screwed by pakistan for 24 more yrs and now by their politicians (same wit the whole south asia). its natural that poor ppl from BD crossed over to india. First in west bengal (aided by votebank politics) and then assam (again aided by votebank politics). many of the guys need proof in the form of links n documents n other BS, but i am a local of these regions n i saw with my own eyes wats happening there. i dont blame those ppl from BD for crossing over. whn u r hungry u r supposed to find food not wortless nationalism. indians n BDeshis r blaming each other but its india who is to be blamed more. I say, why should BD worry abt these crossings??? they r losing some **** beggars who wouldnt burden their fledgeling economy anymore...put a cherry on top of that, they will always have a porous border filled with sympathetic muslim/bangladeshi diaspora to help them in case of any aggression from either side. Its a double win for them (yeah, u BDeshis r probably laffing ur a$$ off....n probably u shud). But consider wat our country is getting :
@ huge no of illegal migrants with zero assets (except that they r hardworking as hell, i have seen small groups of bangladeshi migrants sttling n farming in remote arunachal valleys whr even the arunachalis dont settle down)
@ drastic change in demographics. (at BD guys...please dont scream abt links)
@ potential security threat
@ grt burden to its already burdened economy. having one of the largest foreign exchange reserves in the world doesnt justify wasting money on illegal migrants.
4. wat should be done by BD is their own matter. but y shud they do anything??? their problems are getting solved without doing anything. if anything has to be done then it has to be done by us, indians. becoz we r the ones on the losing side here. sumtimes some corrupt BSF jawans take money n allow bangla ppl to cross borders. they cross in the morning, pull rickshaws, push thelas, do hard honest labour n get back by the night, eg karimganj , assam, NE india. these guys r sort of good among the bad lot. the bad ones dont return n move to interior parts to avoid getting detected. and thats easy its not like indians are like greeks n u can single out the famished bengalis. steps have to be taken from the political level AND social level to decrease this menace. also indian government shud force the affected states to device plans to distinguish the illegal migrants n put them on a gov list. then GOI shud armtwist BD to take its citizens back. ANNEXING is foolish.
