Yes just trying to panic India a mutual Sazish by Rusi - Pak, Pakistan will never buy Russian fighters which have serious issues in fly by wire system and need extensive repairing and more on above Pakistan should not trust Russian may they stop spares in height of any tension between India and Pakistan.
They are still living in the cold war era of pre-1980 but the world has moved forward since then. USSR has disappeared and Russia with a very different mentality has risen from the ashes of USSR. Pak-Russia never had any issues. 60% or more of indian weapons are Russia origin thus any blackmail can from the latter to the former and not the vice-versa.

Russia always prefer money and stacks are more on Indian side so we should beware of the fact. I personally thinks PAF will not buy any double engine medium or heavy fighter and will keep buying F-16 until F-35 in our range.

We should look for used F-15 & F-18 instead of Russian junks, it is quite economical approach.

Thanks but no thanks to further dependencies on US military equipment.

As a PAF source answered my query in diplomatic tone.... ''It was the Russian minister and a Russian source who disclosed and carried the news.... no Pakistani official made any statement to that effect.
Presently PAF is content with the overall situation, it's JF-17 programme is progressing well, Falcons have been upgraded , Vipers are operational with more likely joining them, no doubt in due course PAF will hunt for more Falcons and bring them up to grade.... it's also a strong contender for J-31...,.smooth sailing.
As for SU-35, wonder where there's smoke, there's a ''chitta'' burning.

What needs to be realized over here is that JF17 is not the solution for everything. JF17, F16 & SU35 is what PAF should look like in the future, so I dearly hope PAF go for SU35 & also increase the number of MI35 as MI35 will serve really well in PA.

JF-17 program is progressing well MashaAllah. Block-II is successful and now our engineers are working on a 4.5th Generation JF-17 Block III aircraft which will be able to challenge any high tech aircraft of our adversary. F-16 fleet if supplemented with more Block-52s and MLUs can be reached to the numbers higher than 100.

4th Generation F-16s, 4th Generation Block-IIs & 4.5th Generation Block-IIIs of JF-17 will surely consist of 300 aircrafts in PAF's inventory. J-31, Su-35, or any other jet of a different class will be numbered from 40-60 in PAF. ACM Qamar Suleman's statement is in my mind in which he said that PAF will maintain 3 types of aircrafts in its inventory (multi-role inventory).

Its duty of defense planners to select that "3rd" aircraft. In my personal opinion, it can be any high-tech aircraft from any country i.e. Russia, China and even West. Pakistani government and PAF can manage to arrange funds for 24-36 Rafaels, Typhoons or Gripens. We are capable to surprise our enemies.

We have to go for twin engine heavies one way or the other. It might be SU-35 or any other platform, its not yet decided but heavies are coming in PAF. The sooner the better.

Su-35 is unlikely .. if Pakistan has cash to buy its toys, i would rather go for more f-16 block 52's or M2K's from UAE ..
and if we got lucky than buy a sqs of F-18 Super hornet ..

relax it wont happen ... we buy F-16's for a reason . they wont stay in hangers during any conflict in future ..
either we like it or not, US still have the most Advance Fighters in the world .. if we are able to get more F-16's block 52's lets assume for 36 , than by 2020 , you will have around 120+ F-16's , out of them 54 will be Block 52 which is still one of the most Advance Fighter in South Asia ..
and if we are lucky enough to get F-18 Super hornets , than it will be a great punch

.
Nobody belived we had nukes..until one day we decided to explode them...same speculation will happen over SU35...if there is a real operational need and money is available..it will be happen..

Buying F-18s may be a possibility but there is a big question mark on maintaining them such as spares in case of sanctions or conflict with india plus the possibility of kill switches in US made equipment. In case of F-16s, we may get spares from Turkey, but in case of F-18, it may be difficult.

IMHO, Pakistan should start work on double engine variant of JF-17 which obviously will be a new fighter altogether with somewhat larger airframe and we may name it JF-18 :-)

.
really!!! this again! sorry to burst your bubble guys but its not going to happen.
