Long ago I put up this documentary. And by next week he was blaring 'Yugoslavia Doctrine'. Defence Analyst my @$$. All he does is come to these sites and use it cook shit up.

I actually quite like her views. She is a strong view lady and even though not everyone would agree with her ideology, the way she presents her case in debates is quite remarkable.

NDTV is a place where you can actually have a meaningful debate, and not hyperbolic verbal terrorism! That channel is still more watchable even with their Congress bias, 'we the people', 'The buck stops here' are good. Arnab doesn't let anyone speak, his program is good to watch only when he is bashing some corrupt politician.

Probably because of Dr. Roy, the channel still is one of the few watchable Indian news channels. You can see their tilt towards congress, but they don't overdo it. Plus their news anchors are far sober and behave maturely, quite pleasing to ears in these times of 9'o clock cacophony.

She was good at the tsunami time also.

She was my Hero for the work she did during Kargil reporting back in 99. But since then, well she hasn't remained the Barkha Dutt i adored.

So, did Gen VK say something wrong that the Media especially Arnab Goswami, went after him and lambasted him with a ton of bricks?

Its not what its cut out to be from the sound of it. Knowing she has the power of God over you come exam time ensures the hands stay firmly in place ......

Actually it's much less to do with the consumer segment ( in this case being semi-literate w/e ) but more to do with the deeper needs which people felt they needed.

For instance, growing up we guys would have seen politicians shouting in the senate/debates even when they didn't make any sense and more so if they had to suppress a logical voice which punctured their stand on any issue.

Times basically captured that sentiment where people wanted to have vicarious fun while watching TV i.e. someone who as people's voice would shout on the politicians back. Like scolding them.

I can bet the network must have had a meteoric rise and what do we have now ? A shout fest on prime time that's all.

7 years top english news channels in a row(they say.. who knows), but nobody tried to copy the format yet. The media house this channel belongs to, is known for promoting tabloid journalism. They are here to make money.. but among few media house that does not have obvious political leaning.
