Oh you didn't........I don't know about Zardari. But right now, your military's budget depends on what NS does. I think its been made very clear by the US, the EU AND the Chinese. NO interference in the Civilian rule.
GO through a thread on here called "Development projects in Pakistan" and see for yourself how much work is being done. In the mighty Army's 45 or 50 year's rule, jack squat was done. In fact, the terrorism was spread, from Karachi gangs, to Talibans and everything else. The SAME fukking "Strategic Depth" has cost you over 60,000 soldiers so far and easily many billions in losses, not to mention terrorism across the country. How many new dams or energy projects or efforts to produce IT labor or jobs or Hospitals or Highways or Trade routes did the "mighty generals" start? A VERY comfortable "0"!!! Speaks volumes.
I'd rather have civilians rape civilians and go through the democratic cleansing process and courts and work out these issues just like anywhere else like India, the US, etc. And the system will progress like it is today, showing tremendous opportunity for a country like Pakistan, than create another terrorism force somewhere else as a Strategic Depth and then fight with it for over a decade, wasting precious lives, loss of billions and trauma all across a country. The military belongs to the barracks or the border or when they are called upon by the President or the PM, depends on which ruling system your country is in. The military keeps its nose out of politics, salutes the civilians and gets their paycheck from civilian government. On her own, your military can't get a few mortars on its own from civilized countries, let alone doing large business. Its the civilians that make those things happen, EVEN in the case of China!
