At this point its international news of the current racial tensions or rioting here in the States. Once again a White Police officer has killed a black man *Have we seen enough* already. There is deep resentment between the European and African descendants of this country for close 200 years now due to African slavery and subsequent discriminatory policies by American political and economic institutions tho in the 60s there was gradual you could say "truce" due in part of the fear of Soviet influence in the third world and "Communism" by the "Civil Rights Movement" that truce is now already cracking its been like that since the early 90s but its been getting worse by every decade.Ok now what about us Pakistanis and Asian folk in general,I know many us do sympathize with the plight of Blacks in America due to European colonization and brutal racism endured but lets be quite honest most Blacks here view us the same as whites in general we own the stores in the ghettoes and most robbers tend to be black also the ones looting and attacking stores here are owned by non white immigrants who send money back home to our countries besides Asian immigration unlike Hispanic and European immigration was always spotty throughout history from the 1880s-1920s there was upswing of immigration from East Asia and also South Asia mostly East tho but in the 1910s and 1920s fears of such waves lead to racial quotas that were in place until the late 1960s when the Immigration and Naturalization Act ended them the modern trends of immigration began from there and most Pakistanis started coming in trickles in the 70s my dad immigrated here in 1980 and the flood would start from there on anyways we dont have much history here as other groups have prior to 1965 its small trickle from the 1900s but most history is not well known as much.Pakistanis and Asians should just stay neutral at best we should strive to protect ourselves once stagnation in the near future might turn into something worse and if worse comes after we should pool in resources to improve our own countries

I would agree with you but reality is if we let these thug rioters destroy, loot, and burn businesses, it is going to impact a lot of Pakistanis who own these businesses as well as other Asian immigrant groups who depend on these businesses to make a living. It also includes the Pakistanis and Asian immigrant groups who shopped at stores that have now been looted so they cannot get what they need.

Burning grocery stores, robbing banks, looting small shops and businesses, and blocking major highways is completely unacceptable, and there should be zero tolerance for it. These rioters need to be dealt with firmly with an iron fist. Gov't should send in National Guard to control this situation and make it clear that physical property damage is not allowed in any circumstances for any reason.

I think you are basically expanding my point, is we will be attacked by both sides White and Black as we neither and yes its ridiculous that response in some parts of this country have been sub par so much for America being a "beacon of security"

very dumb take, there is no such thing as neutrality, and there seems to be a very shallow understanding of solidarity.. the same ones who are right wing bigots who hate muslims and advocate for "bombing the shit out of those camel jockeys", are the same ones who are backing the police in their brutality. When Trump proposed the "muslim ban" the first people to swing to action were from the African American community. The civil rights era which was led by black people is what led to the passing of the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Immigration_and_Nationality_Act_of_1965 which removed the ban on immigrants coming into the US from non european countries..

Good Point In The Few Months I Spent In USA I Found Blacks Much More Sympathetic To Muslims

Maybe It's A Nation of Islam Thing

I think Asians (South Asians included, because we're in the same boat on this one), should both condemn police brutality against Black men which is a real issue, as well as condemn the mindless expressions of rage, violence and looting that has occurred (and these have been committed by those of all races). Eventually the violence will come back to haunt Asians both from the LEFT WING AND THE RIGHT WING. Many Asians are small business owners in the inner city and their businesses will be targeted by looters and rioters. While many Right Wing White nationalists hate both South and East Asians racially and will target us for racial violence when they want to vent.

Both East and South Asians (Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Pakistani, Korean, Vietnamese, etc) are united on this together. Y'all my brothers in this.

Exactly, agree 100%

Finally somebody gets it

as Americans, regardless of origin, we are duty bound to participate and make things right. It was wrong of the cop to have killed that black man; and it is wring of the mob to riot & loot.

Problem is that even though most people are rational and fair, these are forces way bigger than us. So yeah we can put our 2 cents in and say and do the right things in our lives but ultimately these things are beyond our control. There are organized groups in society with deep resources and they are vested in fomenting chaos and division, they profit from it.

So if you are a real American, go practice your second amendment rights and arm up. You might need it. https://www.kimberamerica.com/media/catalog/category/Micro9_2Tone_TILE.png

We cannot stay neutral in the face of police injustice.

But we also cannot stay neutral when our cities are being looted, burned, and destroyed by thugs.

This is domestic terrorism. Let there be no two ways about it.

I stand alongside people who demand justice for George Floyd who was murdered by a police officer choking his neck. I have zero tolerance for this. But I also have zero tolerance for thugs taking advantage of the situation to hijack peaceful protests and turn it into violent riots that destroy our country. I condemn both police brutality and criminal thugs.

Only dummies can only think in Black and White.

Supporting justice for George Floyd /= Wanton looting and destruction of people and property completely unrelated to the incident

Especially as Asians, both East and South Asians, we can't pretend to be color blind and not realize that this incendiary and combustible environment puts us uniquely in a very dangerous situation.

I understand the looting part. However his death proves that peaceful protests haven't worked.
