American Pakistanis and Asians should be neutral in regards of the rioting and protests in America

Colored people must unite. I say let the 'Hong Kong virus' spreads to every city in America. America has its work cuts out for itself, they don't have the time to mess with other countries and that's good for the rest of the world.

Easy for you to say, you live in Malaysia or Canada. I live in the US.

I am 100% in support of justice for George Floyd. There is no doubt in my mind that he was murdered in cold blood and that this is not just one incident, but emblematic of systemic racism against Blacks by law enforcement.

At the same time, Asian individuals and Asian businesses are just as likely or more likely to be targeted in the ensuing chaos by rampaging thugs. Asians are seen as economically well off and more privileged than other minorities, even though we actually have by far the least political power and media representation in this country. The only reason why we are ahead economically is because of the cultural values that our immigrant parents passed down to us. But that makes us a target.

So I think Asians need to watch out for their own backs from both the far left and far right. We might get a bullet or a beating from both angry Black thugs or angry White nationalists.

The guy who owned the store which called the cops on George Floyd for passing counterfeit money was Palestinian. So I'm sure there were also other store owners in the area like him.

$20 counterfeit is jackshit compared to having your business looted and burned.

Ask any business whether they'd rather be out $20 or have their store set on fire and you'll get the same answer every time.

I can try to stay natural until they burn down the market down my street. I support reigning in the police but the burning and looting has to stop.

Agree 100%

You either support racism or you don't - there isn't a middle ground here.

Most White Americans are not racists.
Most American racists are white.

Most racist Americans in positions of power are nearly always white.

#blacklivesmatter is not about stopping Timmy joining the klan, it's about making sure the judges, police officers and state provided attorneys are not klan members.

Anyone who isnt a white man and thinks this treatment is reserved for black people only will likely get a reality check. They just haven't gotten around to you yet.

Agree 100%

Regardig businesses destroyed - does not insurance cover most of the losses ?
Eventually it is far better for everyone to develop their own countries rather than live as minorities somewhere else. china appears to be doin a great job. you no longer hear about japanese migrating outside - there used to be lot of koreans migrating before but i think it would have come down a lot now.

Looting and destruction of private property under the guise of protest should be unacceptable in any corner of the globe.

After the Charlie Hebdo cartoon stunt and the ensuing protests, I had the first-hand experience in Peshawar when rioters took advantage of the situation (mostly Afghan refugees) and wreaked havoc. Consequently, the common people had to suffer the most.

How many American think like you and tower9 in the matter that justice for George Floyd is one thing, while burning and looting is another? In my experience, we have a great deal of HK people still support the riot due to the disinformation and their hatred (this is the main reason why the HK riots last that long).

The majority of Americans think like us

Yea this will simply pass. African americans have not been able to organize in a sustainable way to get their demands met. And all these rallies or even havoc does not really effect american economy or busineses. The costs are socialized as insurance (profits though will be kept by bussinesses :) ).
And no one in the country - neither republicans nor liberals are truly interested in solving anything in this matter. They just react keeping in mind their electoral prospects.

How do you solve the problem? There will always be some cops who harbor racist tendencies and are violent. The high crime rates in the inner city continually creates opportunities for these cops and Black people to interact, which will ensure that incidents like this keep happening. I mean I guess you can punish cops who have had several instances of overly aggressive behavior more harshly and that will reduce these types of incidents but in a huge country of 325 million, it is inevitable that incidents like this will happen again. There are vested interests who control the media and government that want society to be divided and want to create this toxicity to ensure their own control. That's way both sides will just become more entrenched, distrustful and hostile to each other.

Yep, need to spread to rest of China. Problem is that the media is tightly controlled, China is thinking ahead.

Naw man, the whole system is corrupted. Cops almost never get prosecuted for the crimes they commit and even in the rare cases when they do, never convicted. Cops need to be held accountable. Your "few bad apples" argument fails when most "good cops" protect the bad ones.
