India is an energy deficit nation. In spite of proximity to persian gulf, our imports are very fragile. Saudis are friends of Pakistan, they have cooked up every kind of support to Pakistan one can imagine, have bought enough that Pakistanis named a city after their King. We cannot rely on Saudi Arabia entirely on energy, Iran has relations with India historically and the current regime does provide energy not only to India, but to Japan, South Korea and even China.

Israel cannot offset the energy assets of Iran, they can give technology but the fuel has to come from some where. Friendly relationship with Iran are India's hedge for flow of Oil and Natural Gas.

AJC would do itself greater good by understanding India's energy concerns, but they have their own agenda which is narrow.

We know, UK, US is not happy with us coz of MMRCA. Russia may be coz of US arms deals. After all its business.

Just need to not take side in any conflict and just oppose violence in any form in any conflict. That is the core of skillful diplomacy.

Dude, slow down. American Jews know this relationship is commercial. We need Iran's oil and Iran needs a growing economy to boost its markets. China and us both are doing that. We don't trade weapons with Iran that will be a threat to Israel. I fail to see how buying oil will affect the nuclear program.

If we don't buy, China will buy double and the game will continue.

With all due respect to our relationship with Israel, our ties with Iran are bilateral and have nothing against Jews.
