You guys will claim that India could have achieved all this by itself, and that may be true over the long run, but the US greased the wheels in the above cases.
No. I claim that each was a quid pro quo.
1. Cancellation of pipeline with Iran.
2. Purchase of American equipment worth
billions - yes billions - of dollars was
guarenteed to US in exchange for it.
And what advanced weapons tech has India purchased from US that was
not available elsewhere?
C-130 planes?
C-17 ?
Boeing P-8 ?
Because these are 90% of all that we have bought from them. And each is on offer to a dozen countries around the globe. Heck if Pakistan could afford it, its all open to Pakistan as well.
So far India has not bought even
one cutting edge battlefield or offensive battle equipment from them.
Free rein in Afghanistan.
Yeah. Real free. Except that apart from the Pakistani narrative, India has done nothing much apart from ramp up surveillance apparatus in Afghanistan to monitor Pakistan, again in return for which we have given
billions of dollars in recontruction aid to Afghanistan.
China, India and one more country had waiver from this. Are you telling me US was being nice to China as well?
The fact of the matter is that our(India and China) oil consumption is so large that if we stop from Iran, no one else can fulfill our requirements including KSA(with their current commitments). Our purchase itself exclusively from KSA would cause a
massive spike in oil prices that the world could not afford. We were give a pass because of these reasons.
Inclusion in talks with Japan (against China)
Are you joking here? Inclusion in
talks is a freebie?
Turning a blind eye to Indian outsourcing, while whining about Chinese outsourcing.
etc. etc. etc.
Are you aware that there are laws which govern outsourcing. Bitching about one country and not about the other makes
zero difference on the ground.
Corporations could outsource to both China and India because laws allowed them to do so. that GoUS whined about China and not India makes zero difference. Heck the most iconic products of US are made in China(from Iphone to xbox) while all India had was the far less valuable service outsourcing.
And you do know
why we had outsourcing right?
Why it did not go to Pakistan or Vietnam or Poland? Because of economic and demographic and market factors. The
same reasons why factory jobs went to China and not to Vietnam or India or Pakistan.
Corporations look to maximize profit and ease. They found the perfect combination of this for manufacturing in China and for services in India.
