American and Philippines demographic engineering against Moro Muslims

Although the majority of the northern Kingdoms in Luzon were animist, they were becoming gradually Islamicized. Rajah Sulyaman of the Kingdom of Maynila was a Muslim and a relative of the Brunei royals and although the Tagalog people did not know Islam well it was being spread until the Spanish conquered it and forced everyone to convert to Catholicism.

Flipinos are the only non-Muslim austronesian, southeast asian people who practice circumcision (Tuli). Other non muslim austronesians in Indonesia don't do it. It was introduced probably by Muslims before the Spanish conquest.

The Spanish imposed their (King's) name on you, their religion, surnames, customs, and the Americans came and did the same, and you are perpetuating their colonially imposed identity on Mindanao without the Spanish even needing to be present.
Actually it's a good thing that the Philippines today became a Christian country and not a muslim. About our names so there's nothing wrong with that because mostly muslim countries used common names of their prophet based on islam.

Maybe your TALKING about China? (Japan, S.Korea, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, India, Mongolia etc.)

We have a good relationship with Malaysia and Vietnam whether you like it or not and we're just part of one family (ASEAN)

We just don't like greedy neighbors like China and Taiwan.

Japan has disputes with all of its neighbors - Russia, South Korea, China, India is hated in all countries surrounding it like Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Bangladesh, China. There is no dispute with Mongolia.

Well if Chinese didn't exist there's no problem in the world today. Your just a desperate one trying to vent your frustration on the Americans and Filipinos even to those countries that are against your greedy fellow. If historical evidence are considered, the final verdict may end up UN awarding Formosa (now Taiwan) to the Philippines. But who are the original inhabitants of Taiwan? It was the Austronesian people, and they are the same people as the inhabitants of Batanes, Philippines and not of your kind.

Delineations in determining one's ethnicity is varying depending on the political, social and cultural contexts that govern such identity. For the case of the Philippines which is very multiethnic PLUS with hairsplitting political and historical complications (or should we say fabrication), religion and languages are strong determinants. You can be Tagalog as long as you primarily speak the language or be any of the Christianized lowland indigenous peoples (Visayan, Bikol, Ilokano) as long as you are Christianized notwithstanding if Catholic or not. However, due to historical complications, you can TECHNICALLY (take note of this as it's less likely to happen) take claim as a, let's say, Cebuano-Visayan or Hiligaynon/Ilonggo-Visayan even if you are a Muslim just because your parents, or your, most vivid memory of your heritage or lineage is being able to speak of such. But then, pure Visayans have long been considered Christianized or root from Hindu-Buddhist precolonial identity as always delineated from the Muslims. It is only recent history that a sizeable number of Muslims can speak these Visayan languages but then probably just as a second language, therefore, the linguistic aspect is also a weak basis.

All in all, it's a matter of self-identification given that we all are from one genetic pool, without very salient differences in physical characteristics (probably with slight nuances on impressions with complexion, nose structure per region but these haven't been genetically supported unless someone conducts further study on this facet)

Great. According to your logic since British and Irish share Y Chromosome R1b, lets deny that English and Irish are seprate ethnic groups, and let the English take over Ireland and dump tons of Protestant English colonists on Irish Catholic land. Its a matter of self identification.

There are three mainstream factions, MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front), MNLF (Moro National Liberation Front), BIFF (Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters).

Abu Sayyaf is a separate Al Qaeda linked organization.

MILF is backed by Malaysia and is the one involved in a ceasefire and peace negotiations with the Philippines government. They sold out and are agreeing to the peace deal with the Philippinese government over autonomy only in the Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao. Malaysia has in short pressed the MILF to come to a peace agreement.

BIFF's Ameril Umbra Kato was angry over the MILF giving up the fight so he formed BIFF to continue violent resistance against the Philippines government.

MNLF is led by Nur Misuari. They, like MILF are involved in a ceasefire with the Philippines government however they are pissed off at being excluded in the peace deal and their negotiations with the government has gone nowhere. They are actually angry at both the Philippines and Malaysian governments, possibly over MILF at signing the peace deal without them. On their websites and in public they spoke out against Philippines and Malaysian government's colonialism (referring to Malaysia's control over Sabah) and Nur Misuari has asserted the Moros claims over Sabah against Malaysia. They keep making noise against the Philippines government and Malaysia and were possibly behind the Lahad Datu standoff.

So the MILF and its supporter, the government of Malaysia and Philippines government are on one side now since they have signed the peace deal over the Muslim autonomous region, while the MNLF and BIFF are very angry over being left out. MNLF sent its men to Lahad Datu to fight the Malaysians over its negotiations with the Philippines government and hijack the peace agreement and BIFF is engaging in hostilities against the Philippines army.

The MNLF led by Nur Misuari and the Sulu Sultanate (Jamalul Kiram III) are very angry over the peace deal and are against the Philippines government, Malaysia and the MILF for selling out the Moros and only agreeing to the puny autonomous region. They also want Sabah back from Malaysia. The MNLF and the Sulu Sultanate sent armed men to fight the Malaysians at Lahad Datu in Sabah. They are involved in a ceasefire with the Philippines government but no permanent peace deal and they have not given up their arms. The MNLF and Misuari have been verbally attacking the Philippines and Malaysia over the media recently.

BIFF led by Ameril Umbra Kato are against the peace deal and are engaging in armed resistance against the Philippines army.

If China goes to war against the Philippines, as bdslph said, the MNLF and Misuari might join China and rebel against the Philippines government since no permanent peace deal has been signed, only a ceasefire is in place and they have all their armed men availible. MNLF is angry at being sidelined and want a better deal and also Sabah back from Malaysia.

Nur Misuari: 'We had to fight for it' - Talk to Al Jazeera - Al Jazeera English

At stake could be the peace deal between the government of the Philippines and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front’s (MILF) leader Murad Ebrahim. The deal was designed to bring peace to Mindanao and allow the fighters there to build a semi-autonomous Islamic state, to be called Bangsamoro.

The party that brokered the deal was Malaysia. Its Muslim-dominated government used its influence with the Islamic fighters in Mindanao to bring the parties together. But now, there are allegations that members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF), the original Islamic insurgency group, feels sidetracked and has allowed some of its men to fight the Malaysian government presence in Sabah.

WHY KUALA LUMPUR 1974 5th ICFM
COLONIZE THE MOROS?

By Prof. Daim Abadi
BMNews
Zamboanga City, Mindanao

How the Bangsamoro people lost their homeland –Mindanao and Sabah- and divided into two colonies by two Southeast Asian neighbors, Philippines and Malaysia, is a historical non-fiction!

While Philippine colonialism usurped the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi and Palawan islands (MINSUPALA) in July 4, 1946, the Malaysian Federal Government cunningly annexed and gobbled up the island of Sabah in a mocked referendum in early 1960s. Malaysian colonialism stage-managed a semblance “referendum”, utilizing and bribing some Moro leaders from Sulu and Tawi-Tawi to represent the “political” interest of Sabah and Mindanao per se to legitimize the mockery.

It’s clearly recorded in history that Sabah (East Borneo) was gifted by the Brunei Sultanate Government to the Sulu-based Bangsamoro Sultanate Government and in turn eventually was merely leased to a British company by the Sultan of Sulu in 1876. When Malaysia regained her independence from British colonial rule, she simply colonized Sabah, but continued up to this day paying rental to the family of the Sultanate of Sulu.

Compounding the problem over the Sabah issue, the Philippine government, which illegally and immorally incorporated the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao in 1946 with the tacit collaboration of the American government, arrogated shamelessly upon itself to claim Sabah during the administration of President Diosdado Macapagal in early 1960s.

This so-called ‘claim’ awesomely frightened the Malaysian colonizers, who couldn’t think of parting away with their priceless colony. Thus, Malaysia wholeheartedly supported the establishment of the first Southeast Asian regional grouping called MAPHILINDO (for Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia) with the judgement perhaps this would avert the decolonization of Sabah.

However, this diplomatic maneuver did not prevent the Philippine government to pursue her immoral “claim”. Under President Ferdinand E. Marcos, who shrewdly induced Sulu Sultan Ismael Kiram II to authorize his dictatorial government with the “claim”, the Philippine military undertook secretly to mobilize, finance and train hundreds Moro youth to invade Sabah. Because the Bangsamoro people commonly know that Sabah belongs to their Sultanate Government and many of their kindred reside in the area, the recruited Muslim trainees mutinied against the Filipino military officer trainors once they found out the evil objective behind the clandestine project merdeka.

The historical episode ended in the massacre of more than two hundred Muslim trainees, who were cold-bloodedly machine-gunned to their ugly death by Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Captain Romeo Battalla in the island of Corrigidor. Subsequently, the corpses were thrown to the deep ocean from Philippine Air Force (PAF) helicopter gunships to be devoured by the human-eating sharks. But the tragic nightmare did not end there for a wounded Bangsamoro, Jibin Arula, survived the heinous crime. He painstakingly crawled to the island’s ravine and swam from Corrigidor to Cavite shore, whereupon the poor fishermen found him and brought him to the house of Governor Alfredo Montano. Then the world came to know about the shocking Jabidah Massacre of March 18, 1968. This tragic historical event sparked the Bangsamoro people’s revolution against Philippine colonialism.

The sad fate of the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao and Sabah could have ended a successful fait accompli for the Filipino and Malaysian colonizers, but freedom is in the blood of the colonized Moros.

The Southeast Asian Filipinos, Malaysians, Indonesians and Bruneians experienced this natural gut feeling as well as the Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis and Afghans of the Asian Subcontinent, including the Arabs of the Middle East, during their liberation struggle against megalomaniac western colonizers! And too the Central Asian Muslim states, Azerbaizan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrghystan, and Tarjikistan, which regained their complete national freedom once the artificial Union of Socialist Soviet Republics (USSR) miserably collapsed!

Thus, the contemporary struggle for self-determination and independence of the Bangsamoro people against Philippine colonialism was launched by the MNLF on March 18, 1968 to regain their most cherished national freedom. Significantly, this was merely a continued liberation struggle of the oppressed Moro race against the piratical Spanish and American colonizers starting 1521.

However, Malaysian colonizers from the start maneuvered to stifle the national sentiments of the Moros for total freedom. Taking advantage of the controversial Jabidah Massacre debacle and the kindness of Sabah Chief Minister Tun Datu Mustapha Harun, a fearless Bangsamoro guerilla of the Pacific war during WWII, Malaysian colonialism invited MNLF Chairman Prof. Nur Misuari and 89 cadre officers to train in peninsular Malaysia for obvious reason. Consequently, the Malaysian Federal Government had 300 Bangsamoro freedom fighters trained in the island of Banggi, Sabah. Apparently, the tactical move was to control totally the MNLF leadership to enable the federal government to dictate the tempo of the Bangsamoro people’s Jihad Fi-Sabilillah..

Thus, transitionally to keep at bay the gains of the Bangsamoro people’s struggle for complete liberation of their homeland, Malaysian colonialism also conspired with Philippine colonialism to forestall any diplomatic recognition for the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) in the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC). This was through the courtesy of the 5th Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM) held in Kuala Lumpur in 1974.

Clearly, the final touch to the conspiracy would come later and this may unfold during the 10th Islamic Summit of Heads and Governments of the OIC scheduled for the first time in Kuala Lumpur sometime year 2003.

MALAYSIAN HIDDEN AGENDA VIS-A-VIS THE MNLF

From the beginning, it was very clear that Malaysia’s sinister motive was to deprive at all cost the Bangsamoro people to regain Sabah from their colonial clutches. And conveniently also used the Bangsamoro people to shield them against the adventurous design of the Philippines to claim Sabah.

Deceitfully aiding and spending for the MNLF freedom fighters, whom the Malaysian Federal Government did never wish to get the upper hand over the Filipino occupation forces in Mindanao, the Malaysian Special Branch (SB) played its card well to weaken the military capability of the MNLF. On the diplomatic arena, Malaysia maneuvered to limit the recognition of the Bangsamoro struggle for complete independence.

In the first ever Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers in Kuala Lumpur in 1974, the Malaysians orchestrated behind the scene to recognize the Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao as an “internal conflict”, deserving merely an “autonomy within the territorial integrity” of the Philippines.

On the other hand, knowing that Filipino leaders are most corrupt, the Malaysian Federal Government also worked out to dissuade the Filipino presidents from Corazon C. Aquino, Fidel V. Ramos, Joseph E. Estrada to Gloria Macapagal Arroyo to abandon the “preposterous claim” for hundred million reasons. The basic strategy was to buy off the Filipino presidents with the money accumulated from the natural riches, including oil and timber, of the colonized Bangsamoro territory of Sabah.

Only Philippine President Estrada did not partake of this attractive slice because Malaysian strongman, Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed, did not favor his friendship with the ousted Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who was unceremoniously sentenced to jail for 20 years over frame-up charges by the Malaysian kangaroo court.

Thus, Malaysian colonialism only bided for time to sabotage or halt completely the Bangsamoro people’s struggle for total liberation. The most auspicious time came under the crisis government of President Arroyo.

Equipped with the full knowledge that the lady Philippine Vice-President was in dire need of campaign funds to bolster her presidential election for 2004, the Malaysian Federal Government had quite an easy time pursuing its ugly scheme. Mrs. Arroyo accidentally became Philippine president due to the so-called Edsa People Power II leading to the forced resignation of President Estrada.

Thus, it would take only a good excuse for President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who had to be expediently accompanied by her “legendary money-making machine” husband, Atty. Miguel “Mike” Arroyo, to ball roll the strategy. The great opportunity came during the signing of the preliminary agreement on September, 2001 between the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines (GRP).

The Malaysian Federal Government under the Machiavellian ruler, Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamed, conveniently invited the MILF, which strongly advocated for Islamic independent state of the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao, and facilitated peace talks with the Philippine government to complete the diabolical master plan of undermining the Bangsamoro people’s struggle. And as always to bankroll the whole scenario for it would further contribute to the disunity of the Bangsamoro people with the oft-repeated justification line to achieve peace in war-torn Mindanao.

On the other hand, the Malaysian colonizers started to discredit the MNLF Chairman Prof. Nur Misuari, who accepted to become Governor of the OIC/MNLF-rejected 4-province Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) after the forging of the MNLF-OIC-GRP Peace Agreements of September 2, 1996. They finally exposed their duplicity on the day the MNLF Chairman as usual passed through Sabah in order to proceed to Jeddah to report to the OIC Secretary General on the actual situation in Mindanao. This was immediately after the sudden breakout of hostilities between the MNLF Integrees and the Filipino occupation forces in Jolo on November 20, 2001, resulting in the death of close to 200 soldiers and civilians. Unexpectedly, the Muslim leader was detained for “illegal entry” by the Malaysian Federal Government and turned over later on to the Philippine government for imprisonment. The prominent Bangsamoro freedom fighter now is sharing the same fate with what happened to revolutionary leaders like Fidel Castro, Nelson Mandella and Xanana Gusmao.

Meanwhile, the Malaysian conspirators, including Foreign Minister Syed Hamid Albar and officials of the Manila Malaysian Embassy, plotted cunningly with their Philippine counterparts to divide and to subdivide the MNLF leadership. Of course, the ugly colonial tactic was to simply erase the MNLF cause, and, alas, to remove the revolutionary front from the OIC as “Permanent Observer and sole representative of the Bangsamoro people.” Simply put, the strategy was to replace the MNLF in the OIC by GRP following Malacanang’s treacherous maneuver or the application of the Malaysian deceptive version to replace the MNLF by the MILF.

Thus, the Malaysian and Filipino conspirators conveniently created the so-called 15-man MNLF Executive Council (EC) under ARMM Governor Dr. Parouk Hussin, Cotabato City Mayor Muslimin Sema and ARMM Assemblyman Hatimil Hassan. Subsequently, the Manila government concocted and financed the “MNLF Alvarez-led Central Committee (ACC)” under Assemblyman Alvarez Isnaji, and MNLF Islamic Council Command (ICC) under Office of Muslim Affairs (OMA) Executive Director Mudjahab Hashim and its self-proclaimed Chairman Diego Sangcopan.

Yet, not too long ago in the past, the aforementioned Muslim leaders took pride and pledged to death for the MNLF-ignited Bangsamoro people’s Jihad Fi-Sabilillah to achieve self-determination and complete independence for the oppressed and colonized Moros and other ethnic nationalities of Mindanao. However, sad to say, once coopted by Philippine colonialism they’re now conspiring with Malaysian and Filipino usurpers to perpetuate the colonization of the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao and Sabah. And they’re mighty proud to proclaim this in the OIC!

In the final analysis, both the Filipino and Malaysian colonizers have worked out from the beginning how they can safeguard their colonial interests! How they can institutionalize their exploitative stranglehold of Mindanao and Sabah because both islands are undisputedly rich in mineral and aquatic riches!

Bereft of moral conscience, Malaysian colonialism has from the start utilized the OIC as a forum to legitimize its avaricious greed to perpetuate the colonization of Sabah. In addendum, the Malaysian colonizers have always supported their Filipino counterparts to suppress the indigenous sentiments of the colonized Muslims in Mindanao to regain their national pride and total freedom. Tragically, despite the mass killing of women, children and aged, burning of mosques and sacred homes and countless material losses of Muslims by the Christian Filipino occupation soldiers in Mindanao since the eruption of the Filipino-Moro war in late 1960s. The Mindanao war has to date registered in the killing of close to 300,000 precious lives and the death toll is increasing with the resumption of hostilities between the Philippine military and the MNLF Mujahideen.

On the other hand, despite the conspiracy of both the Malaysian and Filipino colonizers to disintegrate the Bangsamoro people’s liberation struggle. And despite the bribery and cooptation of MNLF and MILF leaders as well as deceiving humanity by using the OIC as a tool of deception, the moral spirit of the Bangsamoro people to survive and to continue their sacred struggle can never be totally eradicated by the greedy colonialist conspirators.

Today, the enlightened Bangsamoro youth generation has awakened to the naked truth that the total liberation of the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao and Sabah has to be pursued by any radical and legal means.

Clearly now, it is their historical legacy! For it has become a glittering idea that is only waiting for the right time to come!

BANGSAMORO HISTORICAL NOTES

PHILIPPINE AND MALAYSIAN COLONIALISM:
AFRAID OF BANGSAMORO FREEDOM?

FROM 'QUIRINO-RECTO COLONIZATION ACT' FOR MINDANAO TO 'RIGGED REFERENDUM' IN NORTH BORNEO (SABAH)
Today in Southeast Asia, the wickedness of brutish colonialism is masked still by Philippines and Malaysia. While Philippine colonialism is still exploiting shamelessly the mineral, agricultural and aquatic riches of the Filipino-occupied Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan (MINSUPALA), Malaysian colonialism is also comfortably basking in the land-grab of North Borneo (Sabah), which historically and rightfully belongs to the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo (SSNB).

Thus, deeply analyzing the colonial situation, how does this impact on the Bangsamoro struggle for freedom against the Philippine government? Apparently now, why is the Philippine and Malaysian government afraid of Bangsamoro freedom leading them to conspire in preserving colonialism in Mindanao?

In November 15, 1935, the proclamation to the National Assembly by the Philippine Commonwealth President Manuel L. Quezon in colonizing and occupying MINSUPALA highlighted in history the gross injustice perpetrated by the avaricious Filipino colonizers against the Muslim and Highlander natives of the Bangsamoro homeland.

The megalomaniac and oppressive leadership character of the Philippine Commonwealth regime exemplified by the exploitative unscrupulous Filipino politicians, such as, Manuel L. Quezon, Claro M. Recto, Elpidio Quirino and other cohorts, translated into the enactment of 'Legislative Act 4197' otherwise known as the 'Quirino-Recto Colonization Act', declaring officially the 'legalized land-grabbing' of the ancestral lands of the Muslim and Lumad natives of Mindanao to be opened and capriciously used for settlements by the exodus of Christian Filipinos from Luzon and Visayas, including the dregs of Philippine society - ex-convicts, prostitutes and violent squatters in Luzon.

Simply put, the colonial design was a duplicate of the US government systematic land-grabbing of the ancestral homeland of the Indian natives of America through deceptive peace-signing treaties and massacring of the different tribal groupings leading to the gradual extinction of the early historical Indian Nation.

To the shameless Filipino colonizers, like Quezon and company, the colonization and occupation of the Bangsamoro ancestral domain done under the pretext of 'development' would presumably solve the problems of the Manila government with the restive freedom-loving Bangsamoro people of Mindanao.

However, the brazenly unjust gluttonous political maneuver shrewdly conceived and executed by the early arrogant Filipino politicians in complicity with their American benefactors proved to be their undoing because this has today condemned the Filipino and Bangsamoro communities to the bloody 4-decades long Mindanao war. Tragically, the Filipino-Moro war in Mindanao has only rendered the 'Catholic Philippine nation' into a showcase of 'war-mongers', 'war freaks', 'political, military and judicial thieves' characterized by impeachment and plunder cases in the Executive, Judiciary and Military branches of government.

OTHER FACTORS LEADING TO THE FILIPINO-MORO WAR IN MINDANAO
In the late 1960s, the Bangsamoro people's struggle for independence and national self-determination was launched by the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) under Chairman Prof. Nur Misuari, Vice-Chairman Abdul Khayr Alonto and Foreign Affairs Chairman Ustaj Salamat Hashim to expose the brutality and savagery of the Philippine Marcos government in waging a war of genocide and extermination against the colonized people of Mindanao. The genocidal war executed by the Marcos regime typified the ugliness of ethnic cleansing similar to the cruel bastardization of the Bosnian people on the dirty hands of the oppressive Serbian soldiers in Eastern Europe. The colonial Filipino occupation soldiers in the Mindanao battlefields executed their version of ethnic cleansing by indiscriminate mass murder of helpless civilians, including salvaging of suspected rebels, killing women and children, raping Muslim and Lumad women caught in the war zone and burning native houses in the villages.

As classic example of the cruelty and brutality of Philippine colonialism was the February 7, 1974 war in the town center of Jolo. The Marcos regime vehemently attempted in hiding the Jolo battle from local and international media, but never did succeed because of the magnitude of the one-day mass killing of Muslim, Christian and Chinese civilians inside the town by Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) bombardments from land, sea and air. The Philippine military occupation soldiers deliberately burned the Jolo metropolis in dislodging the MNLF freedom fighters from the town center, resulting in the mass murder of 'more than 20,000 civilians' excluding the AFP and MNLF combatants.

During that chaotic period of the Filipino-Moro war in Mindanao in early 1970s, the MNLF freedom fighters battled the colonial AFP occupation forces in Davao, Cotabato, Lanao, Zamboanga peninsula, Basilan, Tawi-Tawi and Palawan, marking a full-blown war that the embarrassed Marcos regime could not anymore hide from international scrutiny.

Thus, just like in the past, Philippine colonialism under President Marcos wanted to solve unexpectedly the worsening Mindanao problem that had caught the attention like a running wild fire of the global community of nations, particularly the Islamic Ummah. But this time with the primordial intent to preserve still Filipino colonialism in war-torn Mindanao to lengthen the 'Qurino-Recto Colonization Act' of 1935, the Marcos regime invited the MNLF leadership through the mediation of then Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) to peace talks that led to the forging of the December 22, 1976 Tripoli Peace Agreement.

However, playing a treacherous political game from the beginning, the Philippine Marcos government unilaterally implemented the first MNLF-OIC-GRP Peace Agreement, resulting to the resumption of the Filipino-Moro war all over Mindanao. This was ominously marked by the killing of the Jolo-based 5th Tabak Division Brigade Commander, Brig. Gen. Teofilo Bautista, Sr. and several of the high-ranking AFP officers, who rushed to Jolo to participate and oversee the surrender of the legendary Bangsamoro mass leader, 'Amah' Usman Salih, erstwhile Patikul Vice-Mayor. But instead met their doom in the exact town razed to the ground in 1974 by the brutish AFP killing machine.

In 1968, President Corazon C. Aquino attempted to put closure to the Mindanao war by inviting to fresh peace negotiations the MNLF, which the Aquino family through Agapito 'Butz' Aquino and Norberto Gonzales sought help in safeguarding the voting in Mindanao during the 1996 snap election called by the Marcos regime. After the face-to-face meeting of President Aquino and MNLF Chairman Misuari in Jolo in 1986, the peace talks were conducted in Jeddah, leading to the signing of the MNLF-OIC-GRP Jeddah Peace Accord on April 17, 1987. The agreement clearly outlined the faithful implementation of the 13-province and 8-city 1976 Tripoli Peace Agreement.Nonetheless, this was never meant for implementation by the Aquino government because the GRP peace panel, headed by then Philippine-US Ambassador Emmanuel Pelaez, offered surprisingly the MNLF the outrageous proposal of '10 plus 3 formula' in the implementation of the Jeddah Peace Accord. Clearly, this involved a treacherous turn-around gesture of the non-implementation of both the 1976 and 1987 peace agreements because the superficial proposal would simply mean that autonomy would be initially implemented in 10 provinces, minus 3 provinces, particularly Davao, Zamboanga and Palawan.

Thus, the deceptive political move of the Philippine Aquino government only unmasked the duplicity and insincerity of the Aquino regime to faithfully implement the Jeddah Accord, leading to the eruption of war between the AFP occupation soldiers and MNLF freedom fighters in Labatan, Zamboanga del Sur. The sudden breakout of war in Zamboanga later escalated into a full blown war in the island provinces of Basilan and Sulu.

At this historical juncture, the Philippine Aquino regime fabricated the 4-province Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM), which was offered to the MNLF, but rejected outright by both the MNLF and OIC leadership as merely a farcical governmental entity to resolve the Filipino-Moro war in Mindanao. Simply said, it would only serve a national administrative functionary of the Filipino colonizers occupying Malacanang Palace in imposing and dictating their self-vested interests on the beholden 4-province governors and the Muslim populace in the fake autonomous region.

In the 1990s, as the dark climate of uncertainties gripped the 'Catholic Filipino nation' due to the nagging Filipino-Moro war in Mindanao, AFP-NDF/NPA war in Luzon, Visayas and Northern Mindanao, rising pervasiveness of endemic corruption in all branches of government, escalating of mass poverty and hunger even in Metro Manila, worsening patronage and warlordism politics and other plaguing societal eye-sores within the country leading to political instability and economic meltdown, the Philippines was transformed into becoming the notoriously ridiculed, 'sick man of Asia.' The Philippine Ramos government tried its level best to improve the sagging image of the country by inviting both the MNLF freedom fighters and NDF/NPA rebels to peace talks. The Ramos regime succeeded with the MNLF in forging the September 22, 1996 MNLF-OIC-GRP Final Peace Agreements. But also failed to completely implement the agreement except to establish the cosmetic Southern Philippines Council for Peace and Development (SPCPD), composing of 13-provinces and 8-cities, to supervise per se the zone of peace and development (ZOPAD) in the region without adequate political and financial infrastructure.

In reality, the Ramos regime only ensnared MNLF Chairman Nur Misuari to become SPCPD chairman and ARMM governor, which eventually later was abandoned by the MNLF leadership for being merely palliative and artificial as an autonomous self-government to improve the living standards of the suffering oppressed Bangsamoro people under Philippine colonialism.

In the beginning 2000s under President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who replaced the Philippine Congress-impeached sitting President Joseph E. Estrada, the Arroyo regime maneuvered to hoodwink both the Filipino and Bangsamoro people as well as the global community by discrediting MNLF Chairman Misuari as a failure serving as SPCPD chieftain and ARMM governor. The Arroyo regime created the so-called Moro National Liberation Front--Executive Council (MNLF-EC) group in connivance with Malaysia's intelligence authorities under Prime Minister Mahathir Mohammad to disesteem the MNLF Chairman and further to splinter the MNLF leadership and to divide the Bangsamoro freedom fighters in the ground as well as the Filipino-colonized Bangsamoro people of Mindanao. But as it turned out, the MNLF-EC was exposed and functioned only as 'Malacanang National Liberation Front--Easy Currency' because it was financed and controlled by Malacanang officials, like Executive Secretary Eduardo Ermita and National Security Adviser Norberto Gonzales, in conspiracy with the intelligence group of the Mahathir regime.

The Mahathir government and the Arroyo administration wanted MNLF Chair Misuari replaced as MNLF Central Committee chairman, but the plan did not succeed. Nonetheless, cleverly using the Philippine media being the 'mouthpiece of Philippine colonialism', the Arroyo regime did succeed partially in fragmenting the MNLF leadership and confusing the bewildered Bangsamoro people by rewarding the MNLF-EC with the SPCPD chairmanship and ARMM governorship. It appointed Cotabato City Mayor Muslimen Sema as interim SPCPD chair and anointed Dr. Parouk Hussin to become later ARMM governor and as well appointed other MNLF-EC members in government service. Furthermore, in pursuit of their colonial interests, the Arroyo and Mahathir regime utilized the MNLF-EC group to erase the Chairman Misuari-led MNLF as representative and spokesman of the Bangsamoro people in the newly-transformed 57-nation Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Worse, the Arroyo administration treacherously maneuvered with the help of the Mahathir government in arresting MNLF Chairman Nur Misuari to paralyze him and to silence per se the Bangsamoro freedom struggle, leading to his detention for 5 years under Philippine heavy tight security.

However, both Philippine and Malaysian colonialism never did succeed to marginalize and to demoralize the MNLF Chairman because the OIC leadership intervened to plead for his release being a vital component to the peaceful settlement of the Mindanao war that the Islamic Ummah want to be resolved for the sake of peace and development of the Bangsamoro people in the region. Likewise, the clamor and demand for freedom and independence of the oppressed Bangsamoro people from the exploitative Manila government is getting stronger and louder. Thus, Philippine colonialism has to adopt another strategy to show its willingness and accommodation for peaceful harmony and co-existence with the colonized Bangsamoro people whose sagacity and courage to die for their freedom struggle is to prove that they can never be a Filipino because they have their own distinct national identity, cultural, historical and civilization heritage unique and different from the Christian Filipino people.

Today, the present Philippine government under President Benigno S. Aquino III has taken quite a bold stride to tone down the popular clamor of the Bangsamoro people for freedom and independence by signing the November 15, 2012 Framework Agreement on Bangsamoro (FAB) with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) under Alhaj Murad Ebrahim, who succeeded the martyred and national Bangsamoro hero, Chairman Ustaj Salamat Hashim in 2003. Branding the ARMM as a failed political experiment, the current Philippine Aquino government wanted to replace it with simply 'Bangsamoro' whose government apparatus is to be under the stewardship of the MILF, calling on all sectors of Philippine society, Bangsamoro and global communities to accept and support the political move as it would certainly bring 'just and lasting peace' in war-ravaged Mindanao.

Analytically though, the signing of the 2012 MILF-GPH FAB with the conspicuous presence of the third party facilitator, Malaysian Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, has surprisingly raised some heart-searching questions that need crystal clear answers.

What is the strategic interest of Malaysian colonialism in solely facilitating the MILF-GPH in Kuala Lumpur leading to the signing of the 2012 FAB? Why is Philippine colonialism under the present Aquino government totally ignoring the full implementation of the 1996 MNLF-OIC-GRP Final Peace Agreements signed under the Philippine Ramos government? Is the 2012 FAB just another 1978 Tripoli Peace Agreement, 1987 Jeddah Peace Accord and 1996 MNLF-OIC-GRP FPA that would only buy more time for the Philippine government to further lengthen the peace process so as to delay the implementation of any signed peace agreements with the Bangsamoro people for the paramount purpose of perpetuating Philippine colonialism in Mindanao?

Indeed, if the hidden motive of Philippine colonialism is only to hold lengthy peace talks and casually sign agreements to establish a 'no peace and no war' scenario to maintain the colonial status quo of the Bangsamoro people then this would not at all solve the Filipino-Moro war in Mindanao. But instead would invite continuous blood-letting and more humanitarian disaster scenarios for the Filipino-colonized Bangsamoro people of Mindanao.

Clearly thus, Philippine colonialism is afraid of Bangsamoro freedom because it does not want to be unmasked as an unjust and immoral 'Catholic nation' that nakedly usurped the fundamental human rights of the Muslims and Lumads of Mindanao by robbing them of their pride and humanity as a historical sovereign and free independent Moro Nation (Bangsamoro).

FRAMEWORK OF MALAYSIAN COLONIALISM IN OCCUPATION OF NORTH BORNEO (SABAH) THROUGH 'RIGGED REFERENDUM'
Now, what is the colonial interest of Malaysia in the Bangsamoro equation?

It is a common knowledge that the federal Malaysian government has until today colonized and occupied North Borneo (Sabah) that historically and rightfully belonged to the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo (SSNB). This is evidenced by the simple truth that Malaysian colonialism is paying the measly annual rental of $5,000 to the heirs and family successors of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo since the time the British government gave independence to Malaysia in 1957.

The strict compliance of the yearly rental anchored on the basis of the historical document that stipulated: 'Grant by the Sultan of Sulu of a Permanent Lease Covering His Lands and Territories on the Island of Borneo dated January 22, 1878.' The historical document was signed between Sri Paduka Maulana Al Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo with Gustavos Baron de Overbeck of Hongkong and Alfred Dent, Esquire, of London, who acted as representatives of British Company. Further, the document recorded that 'in consideration of the Lease, the British Company owned and operated by Gustavos Baron de Overbeck and Esquire Alfred Dent were bound by a promise to pay Maulana Sultan Muhammad Jamalul Alam and his heirs and successors the sum of $5,000 annually, to be paid each and every year starting in 1878.'

Thus, taking opportunistic advantage of the historical Lease, when Great Britain granted independence to Malaysia in 1957, the Malaysian government under Prime Minister Abdul Rahman Putra Alhaj continued the contested annexation of North Borneo as part of then Federation of Malaysia to exploit the mineral and agricultural riches, including oil and timber, for the development of the other federal territories of Malaysia, particularly Kuala Lumpur, without consultation with the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo being the rightful proprietor. Yet, the stipulation of the Lease Agreement between the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo and the British Company clearly partly stated that: 'The above-mentioned territories are from today leased...but the rights and powers hereby leased shall not be transferred to another nation, or a company of other nationality...'

However, in the 1960s, to further colonize and occupy North Borneo of the Sultanate of Sulu, the Malaysian federal government conducted a 'rigged referendum' in North Borneo ('Sabah' new name given by Malaysia) with the complicity and participation of prominent Tausug leaders recruited from Sulu and Tawi-Tawi. They were conveniently invited to visit 'Sabah' to legitimize the fraudulent referendum and given money to include changing their names in touring the entirety of North Borneo and also the different states of federal Malaysia.

Therefore, from the beginning of the immoral occupation of North Borneo by Malaysian colonialism, the strategic interest is to let die in limbo this factual historic issue and to erase totally the SSNB-authorized Philippine claim to North Borneo started by the Philippine Macapagal government in the early 1960s. In truth, the Philippine-Sabah claim emboldened the Marcos regime in the closing 1960s to mount an attempted invasion over Sabah hidden behind 'Operation Merdeka', but was only nipped in the bud when it was exposed by the lone survivor, Jibin Arola, who miraculously escaped the mass murder of his fellow Muslim trainees on the dirty hands of the AFP soldiers in Corrigidor Island, leading to the international expose of the heinous Jabidah Massacre.

Thus, to obliterate both the propriety rights of the SSNB and the Philippine-Sabah claim, the Malaysian government have resulted in bribing the Filipino presidents, except President Joseph E. Estrada, to purchase their silence on the controversial issue. Furthermore, to keep in disarray the family heirs and other claimants of the Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo, Malaysian colonialism has perpetrated to divide and confuse them by instigating and financing the proliferation of Sultanate rulers and throne pretenders in competing with each other for false pride and recognition by using and paying Malaysia-based Tausug assets.

With regards to the MNLF leadership, although it is common knowledge that the '90 and 300 cadre MNLF officers' were trained by Malaysian soldiers supervised by the 'Special Branch' intelligence group and deceptively helping MNLF in waging its defensive liberation war against the Philippine government from the beginning 1968 up to the year 1996, the Malaysian intelligence group wanted all along to change the MNLF leadership from a Tausug to a Maguindanao or anybody from mainland Mindanao. Malaysian colonialism never wanted a Tausug leading the MNLF because the interest of North Borneo being recovered from Malaysia is always within his heart unlike anybody else from mainland Mindanao. On this note, MNLF Chairman Misuari could not compromise Sabah status to the Malaysian government.

Thus, it is not surprising why Malaysia has colluded with the Philippine government to destabilize and demoralize the MNLF Chairman through treacherously arresting him while traveling through Sabah, following only his usual underground routine exit and entry point to reach and leave the islands of Sulu, on his way to Jeddah to report to the OIC leadership on the peace process development, including his abandonment of the ARMM stewardship. The Malaysian colonialism also conspired with Philippine colonialism in creating the 15-member MNLF-EC and finally inviting the MILF leadership to establish a family home-base in Kuala Lumpur while facilitating and financing the MILF-GPH peace talks that led to the signing of the 2012 FAB in Malacanang.

In a nutshell, the Malaysian colonizers are totally afraid of Bangsamoro freedom under the MNLF leadership headed by a Tausug like Prof. Misuari because of its treacherous maneuver to preserve at all cost Malaysian colonialism in the former North Borneo territory that the people of Sulu have known as part of their historical Sultanate sovereignty.

Hence, the final question in need now of definite answer is, can both Philippine and Malaysian colonialism keep on hiding the biting truth from the world and humanity about the grave injustices they have inflicted on the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan for many years now?

Indeed, tragic events have had driven the colonized and oppressed Bangsamoro people to struggle, sacrifice and persevere with only a collective prayer as a weapon to survive the tyranny of foreign colonizers and contemporary Filipino invaders.

Surely, in all their collective prayers from today, they can also pray that the gluttony for economic greed and political power of Philippine and Malaysian colonialism shall surely boomerang upon them one day in the future for heartlessly land-grabbing the ancestral homeland of the Muslim and Highlander natives of Mindanao and Sulu. --osm/mnlfnet.com

RECLAIMING BANGSAMORO HUMANITY FROM FOREIGN COLONIZERS

Why Did Quezon Commonwealth Regime Design Eclipsing Bangsamoro Sultanate?

A CASE OF SPANISH, AMERICAN, JAPANESE AND FILIPINO CONSPIRACY

The Philippine-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao, causing massive humanitarian disaster every time the Moro freedom fighters and the colonial Philippine military occupation soldiers engaged in ground widescale mortal combat, has not permanently ended to date. This is despite the efforts of the stakeholders to achieve peace.

Why? Is this due basically to the insensitivity and indifference of foreign conspirators, like Spain, America and Japan with the Philippines, to bring to closure the Mindanao war for the benefit of the colonized and oppressed Bangsamoro people under now Filipino colonialism?

As recalled, Spain, the mother of all piratical colonizers that invaded in the 16th century the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan (MINSUPALA), has still to rectify her colonial blatant injustice against the Muslims and Highlander natives of Mindanao. The sinister scheme of Christianizing the native inhabitants of Mindanao and immorally land-grabbing MINSUPALA, worse, selling the Bangsamoro (Moro Nation) together with Cuba for a measly sum of Twenty Million Dollars ($20,000,000) to the American invaders in the ridiculous so-called Treaty of Paris is a worst inhumane act of gluttonous greed and deception in history. Simply despicable, it only displayed the ugliness of human greed for economic and political power generating clear horrible destruction and robbing innocent and peaceful people of their own humanity.

Arrogantly insensitive to the crimes committed against the Bangsamoro of Mindanao, the shameless Spanish leadership of yesterday and today have had not extended any elementary courtesy of apology to the oppressed humanity they have terribly wronged with their majestic jungle rule upholding "might is right."

What about the case of the United States of America (USA) whose loud propaganda for "dream, hope and human rights" ascendancy is always proclaimed to sound like another Roman Empire on the road to glorious conquest?

Backdrop by the injustice most foul perpetrated against the Bangsamoro people, exemplified by the heinous Bud Dajo and Mount Bagsak massacres in Jolo island, including killings of women and children, and other atrocities in Mindanao, American moral ascendancy is surely weighed hollow and thin because until now the American leadership has remained insensitive and callous to the suffering and misery of the colonized Bangsamoro people under both the past American colonial regime and US government-installed Philippine colonialism today.

History can never erase the fact how America contrived with power-hungry megalomaniac Filipino colonizers, like Manuel L. Quezon, Sergio Osmena, Sr., Claro M. Recto, Elpedio Quirino and notorious others, in colonizing the ancestral homeland of the Muslim and Highlander natives of Mindanao, including the Mountain Province (Cordillera region) of the native Igorots.

Just like Spain, the United States of America have still to undo and correct the gross injustice done against the Bangsamoro people. While the US government has apologized to the aboriginal Indian natives in its own backyard for the naked massacring and land-grabbing events in the past, the American leadership has still to apologize to the Bangsamoro people. If only to prove true the oft-repeated American fairness and justice credo, how can America now under the first African American President Barack Obama help the colonized Bangsamoro people regain their freedom and national self-determination from the American-fabricated Philippine colonialism?

THE TRAGEDY OF ASIAN BASTARDIZING A FELLOW ASIAN

The blitzkrieg invasion by Japanese imperial forces in the 1940s over the Bangsamoro homeland MINSUPALA simultaneous with Luzon and Visayan islands was the worst inhumane act contemplated and committed by an Asian to another Asian. The short-lived occupation of Mindanao by the Japanese invaders exhibited tyranny, cruelty and inhumanity at its lowest level.

Thus, it was not surprising that in Mindanao the Japanese marauders had to suffer their worst defeat and highest death mortality at the hands of the Bangsamoro freedom fighters, who never surrendered to the Japanese tyrants unlike the Filipinos in Luzon.

Thus, how would Japan now rectify the outlandish historical blunder committed against the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao under Philippine colonialism?

As observed, the Japanese government, which has extended its deep apology to the people of Korea for the blind invasion and brutality committed against its neighbor, has still to apologize to the Muslim and other Indigenous Peoples of Mindanao for the tyrannical colonization of their ancestral domain. But is the present democratic Japanese government capable now to humble itself before the brutalized people of Mindanao?

HOW INSENSITIVE AND INHUMANE IS PHILIPPINE COLONIALISM?

On top of all criminal activities committed by foreign aggressors against the peaceful and freedom-loving Bangsamoro people of Mindanao, Philippine colonialism -the proud inheritor of the Spanish, American and Japanese colonizers- has still remained the most insensitive and most inhumane colonizer to this very day.

In its bold capacity to deceive mankind, including the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), the Philippine government continues in imposing its "cursed" Filipino identity upon the colonised Muslim and Highlander natives of Mindanao. ("Filipino" is from the immoral "king of inequities" Philip, who died of dreadful vinereal disease with worms all over his obnoxious body. Originally, "Filipinos" are the Christian Catholic children of the Spanish invaders and later in 1872 identified the Christianized Indios, who were used by the Spanish colonizers in their war with the Moros (Muslims) of Mindanao.)

The Filipino colonizers since July 4, 1946 have used the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to continue occupying Mindanao and terrorizing the Muslim and Lumad natives by launching a genocidal war against them since the 1950s, resulting now to the more than 4-decades Filipino-Moro war.

In hoodwinking further the global community of nations, the Philippine government -from Dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos, Presidents Corazon C. Aquino, Fidel V. Ramos, Joseph E. Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo- had deceptively engaged the Bangsamoro freedom fighters in peace talks, including signing with peace agreements with the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).

However, though there was an international peace agreement forged with the MNLF under Chairman Prof Nur Misuari, the Philippine government never has the political will to fully implement the peace agreement because of its ulterior motive in perpetuating colonial hegemony in MINSUPALA, courtesy of the 1935 National Assembly Legislative Act no. 4197 otherwise known as the Quirino-Recto Colonization Act.

PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION AS POLITICAL WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION

Since the founding in 1946 of the so-called Philippine Republic with the arbitrary incorporation of MINSUPALA and the Cordillera Region, the Filipino colonizers have used the "Philippine Constitution" as a weapon of mass destruction and deception to oppress and to colonize further the Muslim and Highlander natives of Mindanao.

Presuming to solve the Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao, registering to the death of more than Two Hundred Thousands precious lives, dislocation of more than One Million refugees in the islands of Visayas, Luzon and neighboring Sabah and countless material losses, including the burning of civilian houses and public mosques, Philippine colonialism has stage-managed in establishing a farcical Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). But the ARMM, which is just a mere fabrication of the pork-barrel conscious Philippine Congress/Senate legislators, has turned out a syndicated "milking cow" (termed by MILF Chair Hj. Murad Ebrahim) of politicians-turned "political marketers" of Manila and Mindanao. The fake autonomous set-up has only become the "cheating capital of Philippine elections" benefiting only the political animals in Malacanang Palace and their local stooges in Mindanao. Worst, the ARMM has been used by the unscrupulous and corrupt officials of the different national department agencies to steal by hundred millions using it a downloading centre for "ghost projects" because the gargantuan loot is easily liquidated by ARMM officials receiving the right percentage "commission". This Philippine pervasive corrupt practice was revealed by the former governor of North Cotabato.

Thus, the ARMM has only brought shame and ridicule to the Muslim populace being loudly condemned and protested by the Bangsamoro ulama (scholars) and religious leaders.

MORALITY OF ABANDONING PHILIPPINE COLONIALISM

Now hounded or haunted by all colonial, criminal and political circumstances enveloping the forced and illegal occupation of the Bangsamoro homeland MINSUPALA, how can the erstwhile foreign colonizers, such as Spain, America and Japan, help Philippine colonialism under President Benigno S. Aquino III to solve comprehensively and peacefully the Filipino-Moro war in Mindanao.
Is the conspiracy strategy still uppermost in their national interests to continue the inhumane treatment of the Muslim and Lumad natives of Mindanao as colonial slaves of the Filipino colonizers?

How can the foreign conspirators involved in the brutalization and destruction of the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao become humane and fair enough to help the Philippine government under President Benigno S. Aquino III end the Filipino-Moro conflict in Mindanao with "just and lasting" peace formula?

How can today Spain, America, Japan and the Philippines develop a high fortitude to embrace the anti-colonialism dictums, "no to exploitation of man by another man", "no to the law of the jungle that might is right," "yes to peace, no to war", and "Moros, not Filipinos"?

Simply said, the past and present colonizers as well as all stakeholders to the elusive Mindanao peace should clearly understand that the only moral and genuine solution to the Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao is to address the root cause of the problem. That is Philippine colonialism! The rest of the lip-service formula, including military solution, financial and material dole-outs and color-coated others, is only superficial, artificial and cosmetic because all are merely by-products of colonialism.

On this note, how then can the peaceful and conscious humanity, including the peacemakers and peace advocates in the UN, EU, ASEAN, OIC, NGOs and others, play a historic and objective role to help the Muslim and Highlander natives of war-ravaged Mindanao reclaim their own humanity and freedom from Philippine colonialism?

Simply put, can the Spaniards, Americans, Japanese and Filipinos now at the helm of their respective progressive government be truly human beings to hear the silent cry, genuine sentiments and moral aspirations of their fellow human beings under oppression, historic-religious and culture disintegration and colonial bondage?

In the final analysis, can the past foreign colonizers help the present Christian Catholic Philippine Chief Executive to emulate the historic role of Muslim leaders, like former Indonesian President Habibie and Sudanese President Ahmad Bashir, who boldly abandoned altogether colonialism to end the bloody war in their respective countries, giving peace and freedom to the Catholics of East Timor and Christians/Animists of South Sudan?-rrr/bfs

BANGSAMORO HISTORICAL NOTES

REVISITING THE FEBRUARY 7-8, 1974 BURNING OF JOLO

AFTERMATH OF THE BURNING OF JOLO: "The worst single atrocity" conducted by the colonial Philippine military occupation forces in the capital town of Jolo against the innocent Muslim, Christian and Chinese residents resulted in the mass killing of more than 20,000 combatants and civilians, including the aged, women and children, and rendered scores of thousands homeless, evacuees and refugees in other places in the islands of mainland Mindanao, Visayas, Luzon and in neighboring Sabah State.
PROLOGUE

PRAYER AND TRIBUTE

In the name of Allah, the Compassionate and the Merciful.

Thirty nine years ago today, around 20,000 Muslim, Christian and Chinese civilian residents of Jolo perished in the wild inferno of the burning of the central commercial town caused by repeated land, sea and air bombardments by the lethal Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) war machine of mass destruction. They were caught in the cross fire between the two-day battle of the colonial AFP occupation soldiers and the freedom fighters of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) right in the town center of Jolo.

Recalling now their anguish, pain and suffering until their final death on the hands of the Filipino invaders, the Muslims of the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan (MINSUPALA) under still Philippine colonialism appeal to the Islamic Ummah and to the conscious peaceful community of nations worldwide to pray not only for the departed souls of the Jolo civilians, but also to all innocent death victims of the Filipino-Moro war in
Mindanao. May all of them be rewarded eternal bliss in Paradise!

In paying tribute to those who have sacrificed and given up their precious lives for the cause of freedom and independence of the Filipino-colonized territory of Mindanao, may God Almighty grant them mercy and martyrdom.

And may the One Merciful Allah also grant 'just and lasting peace' to the Muslim and Lumad natives of Mindanao, including the Christian settlers. Ameen.

PHILIPPINE MILITARY GENOCIDAL CAMPAIGNS IN SULU

The colonial Philippine military occupation forces genocidal campaigns in Sulu have still to end today.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) soldiers have had in the past perpetrated series of massacres of Muslim civilians, including the aged, women and children, in Pata island, Patikul, Indanan and Maimbung so as to terrorize the Bangsamoro people of Lupah Sug (Sulu) into submission as beholden colonial slaves of the Manila government. But the Philippine colonial government have not succeeded to diminish the revolutionary fervor of the oppressed Muslims of Sulu archipelago to fight for their freedom, survival and preservation of Islam religion

From the beginning of the freedom struggle of the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan (MINSUPALA) launched by the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) in the closing 1960s, the Moro freedom fighters have had openly engaged in mortal combat the AFP occupation soldiers in Upi, Cotabato, and also right in the heart of Marawie City. This was to prove to the Philippine government that the colonized and exploited Bangsamoro people in Mindanao could not be easily terrorized and Christianized by the Catholic Filipino military invaders right in their own ancestral homeland usurped this time by the Filipinos.

Thus, the genocidal campaigns of the AFP occupation forces became more brutal and tyrannical in magnitude if only to subjugate the Bangsamoro people of Filipino-colonized Mindanao.

The single Filipino-Moro war event that exposed to the whole humanity the penchant for the Philippine colonial government to inflict mass suffering and painful misery on the Muslims and other natives of the occupied territory was the February 7- 8, 1974 burning of the town of Jolo perpetrated by the combined AFP war machine of mass destruction. As described by one independent media, "the worst single atrocity" rendered scores of thousands Muslims, Chinese and Christians homeless and refugees.

Worst of all, the 2-day continued Philippine Navy (PN) battleships bombardments from the sea, and the Philippine Air Force (PAF) jet fighter planes, T-28 'Tora-Tora' warplanes and helicopter gunships bombardments and machine-gun firing from the sky led to the burning of the central Tulay mosque, Chinese Pun Tai Kung temple and the entire commercial town of Jolo, killing more than 20,000 Muslim, Christian and Chinese civilians with countless material losses

The April 1986 Third Week Issue of Philippines DISPATCH reported the tragic incident in the following words:

"The razing of Jolo, it now appears, was the worst single atrocity to be recorded in 16 years of the Mindanao conflict. A little over a dozen years ago, the main town of the Tausugs, Jolo, was burned to the ground during a fierce battle between the Philippine government troops and the Muslim freedom fighters of the Moro National Liberation Front. The death count surpassed the 10,000 mark but these are definitive figures."

"Only sketchy reports appeared in the papers and even these were mostly the embellished side of the government. Filipinos (and Moros) elsewhere knew there was heavy fighting in Mindanao that time. Although dead soldiers tell no tales, the mere fact of their deaths provided an inkling of what the war in Mindanao was like: the government casualty list included soldiers from almost all parts of the country. Then there were the stories of refugees, Muslims and Christians, who migrated to more peaceful places: theirs were harrowing and heart-rending tales. And there were also stories from soldiers who were in the thick of the Mindanao campaign? theirs were voices mostly drunken but sometimes tinged with regret."

"This is one story that the Marcos government tried so hard to suppress -- and they almost succeeded."

POST-BATTLE OF JOLO 7 FEBRUARY 1974

Out of the 2-day "Battle of Jolo" between the MNLF freedom fighters of the Lupah Sug State Revolutonary Council (LSSRC) under Chairman Bian Lay Lim (Arnaib Hajal) and Vice-Chairman Bagindah Alih, and the AFP occupation soldiers, leading to the deliberate "pulverization" and burning of the capital town by the Philippine military, the raging Mindanao genocidal war attracted immensely ground coverage by the global mass media. The foreign media even sent their own war correspondents to Mindanao to personally interview the MNLF freedom fighters.

The foreign press exposed the merciless slaughter of defenseless and harmless Bangsamoro civilians and the looting and ransacking of the Moro abandoned houses by the Filipino occupation soldiers.

Thus, soon after, the Bangsamoro people's armed struggle to regain complete independence and national self-determination from Philippine colonialism arrested international controversy. And the Far Eastern Economic Review tabbed the Filipino-Moro war in Mindanao next to Vietnam, "the bitterest war in Southeast Asia."

From then on, the MNLF-launched Bangsamoro people's Jihad Fi-Sabilillah in Filipino-colonized Mindanao always harvested close focusing coverage by the world mass media. Although the Philippine press tried hard to downplay the AFP-MNLF war to domesticize its international repercussions and all the while distorted facts and events to confuse the subservient Filipinos and the urban-domeciled Moros, this nevertheless projected the Moro National Liberation Front and MNLF Chairman Prof. Nur Misuari into becoming the "spokesman and representative" of the Bangsamoro people in the 47-nation Organization of Islamic Conference.

Thus, since 1974 up to date, the "Bangsamoro Question" has always been discussed annually in the OIC Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM) and OIC Summit Heads of State and Government meetings similar to the "Palestine Question."

Hence, spotlighting on the succeeding events when the 1974 Jolo battle between the MNLF Mujahidin and the AFP colonial troops and the other open battles elsewhere in Mindanao became the toast of controversy of almost all the truth-seeking global mass media, the Manila government's black propaganda of "Maoists" and "terrorists" name-calling lost its sting. On the other hand, it became the centerpiece of foreign media's ridicule. No matter how the Philippine government-controlled TV-Radio and printed media skirted the facts about the rooted-in-colonialism Bangsamoro phenomenon, its international impact and magnitude became otherwise inevitable.

All because of the historic "February 7, Battle of Jolo"! -osm/mnlfnet.com
