That's why the Sultan of Sulu opted to join the Philippines and gave the government the right to claim Sabah right?Anyway that's a different topic. These moro(n) muslim rebels are not really after peace and prosperity of Mindanao, but an Islamic State that they can call their own, dominated and controlled by their leaders. They want to grab control of Mindanao, then once they succeed on that, Visayas and Luzon will be next. Sorry but these terrorist wouldn't succeed so try and pray harder.
You mean after Spain launched a military campaign to seize the Sultanate's capital at Jolo?

RECLAIMING BANGSAMORO HUMANITY FROM FOREIGN COLONIZERS

Why Did Quezon Commonwealth Regime Design Eclipsing Bangsamoro Sultanate?
A CASE OF SPANISH, AMERICAN, JAPANESE AND FILIPINO CONSPIRACY
The Philippine-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao, causing massive humanitarian disaster every time the Moro freedom fighters and the colonial Philippine military occupation soldiers engaged in ground widescale mortal combat, has not permanently ended to date. This is despite the efforts of the stakeholders to achieve peace.
Why? Is this due basically to the insensitivity and indifference of foreign conspirators, like Spain, America and Japan with the Philippines, to bring to closure the Mindanao war for the benefit of the colonized and oppressed Bangsamoro people under now Filipino colonialism?
As recalled, Spain, the mother of all piratical colonizers that invaded in the 16th century the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan (MINSUPALA), has still to rectify her colonial blatant injustice against the Muslims and Highlander natives of Mindanao. The sinister scheme of Christianizing the native inhabitants of Mindanao and immorally land-grabbing MINSUPALA, worse, selling the Bangsamoro (Moro Nation) together with Cuba for a measly sum of Twenty Million Dollars ($20,000,000) to the American invaders in the ridiculous so-called Treaty of Paris is a worst inhumane act of gluttonous greed and deception in history. Simply despicable, it only displayed the ugliness of human greed for economic and political power generating clear horrible destruction and robbing innocent and peaceful people of their own humanity.
Arrogantly insensitive to the crimes committed against the Bangsamoro of Mindanao, the shameless Spanish leadership of yesterday and today have had not extended any elementary courtesy of apology to the oppressed humanity they have terribly wronged with their majestic jungle rule upholding "might is right."
What about the case of the United States of America (USA) whose loud propaganda for "dream, hope and human rights" ascendancy is always proclaimed to sound like another Roman Empire on the road to glorious conquest?
Backdrop by the injustice most foul perpetrated against the Bangsamoro people, exemplified by the heinous Bud Dajo and Mount Bagsak massacres in Jolo island, including killings of women and children, and other atrocities in Mindanao, American moral ascendancy is surely weighed hollow and thin because until now the American leadership has remained insensitive and callous to the suffering and misery of the colonized Bangsamoro people under both the past American colonial regime and US government-installed Philippine colonialism today.
History can never erase the fact how America contrived with power-hungry megalomaniac Filipino colonizers, like Manuel L. Quezon, Sergio Osmena, Sr., Claro M. Recto, Elpedio Quirino and notorious others, in colonizing the ancestral homeland of the Muslim and Highlander natives of Mindanao, including the Mountain Province (Cordillera region) of the native Igorots.
Just like Spain, the United States of America have still to undo and correct the gross injustice done against the Bangsamoro people. While the US government has apologized to the aboriginal Indian natives in its own backyard for the naked massacring and land-grabbing events in the past, the American leadership has still to apologize to the Bangsamoro people. If only to prove true the oft-repeated American fairness and justice credo, how can America now under the first African American President Barack Obama help the colonized Bangsamoro people regain their freedom and national self-determination from the American-fabricated Philippine colonialism?
THE TRAGEDY OF ASIAN BASTARDIZING A FELLOW ASIAN
The blitzkrieg invasion by Japanese imperial forces in the 1940s over the Bangsamoro homeland MINSUPALA simultaneous with Luzon and Visayan islands was the worst inhumane act contemplated and committed by an Asian to another Asian. The short-lived occupation of Mindanao by the Japanese invaders exhibited tyranny, cruelty and inhumanity at its lowest level.
Thus, it was not surprising that in Mindanao the Japanese marauders had to suffer their worst defeat and highest death mortality at the hands of the Bangsamoro freedom fighters, who never surrendered to the Japanese tyrants unlike the Filipinos in Luzon.
Thus, how would Japan now rectify the outlandish historical blunder committed against the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao under Philippine colonialism?
As observed, the Japanese government, which has extended its deep apology to the people of Korea for the blind invasion and brutality committed against its neighbor, has still to apologize to the Muslim and other Indigenous Peoples of Mindanao for the tyrannical colonization of their ancestral domain. But is the present democratic Japanese government capable now to humble itself before the brutalized people of Mindanao?
HOW INSENSITIVE AND INHUMANE IS PHILIPPINE COLONIALISM?
On top of all criminal activities committed by foreign aggressors against the peaceful and freedom-loving Bangsamoro people of Mindanao, Philippine colonialism -the proud inheritor of the Spanish, American and Japanese colonizers- has still remained the most insensitive and most inhumane colonizer to this very day.
In its bold capacity to deceive mankind, including the United Nations (UN), European Union (EU), Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs), the Philippine government continues in imposing its "cursed" Filipino identity upon the colonised Muslim and Highlander natives of Mindanao. ("Filipino" is from the immoral "king of inequities" Philip, who died of dreadful vinereal disease with worms all over his obnoxious body. Originally, "Filipinos" are the Christian Catholic children of the Spanish invaders and later in 1872 identified the Christianized Indios, who were used by the Spanish colonizers in their war with the Moros (Muslims) of Mindanao.)
The Filipino colonizers since July 4, 1946 have used the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) to continue occupying Mindanao and terrorizing the Muslim and Lumad natives by launching a genocidal war against them since the 1950s, resulting now to the more than 4-decades Filipino-Moro war.
In hoodwinking further the global community of nations, the Philippine government -from Dictator Ferdinand E. Marcos, Presidents Corazon C. Aquino, Fidel V. Ramos, Joseph E. Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo- had deceptively engaged the Bangsamoro freedom fighters in peace talks, including signing with peace agreements with the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF).
However, though there was an international peace agreement forged with the MNLF under Chairman Prof Nur Misuari, the Philippine government never has the political will to fully implement the peace agreement because of its ulterior motive in perpetuating colonial hegemony in MINSUPALA, courtesy of the 1935 National Assembly Legislative Act no. 4197 otherwise known as the Quirino-Recto Colonization Act.
PHILIPPINE CONSTITUTION AS POLITICAL WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION
Since the founding in 1946 of the so-called Philippine Republic with the arbitrary incorporation of MINSUPALA and the Cordillera Region, the Filipino colonizers have used the "Philippine Constitution" as a weapon of mass destruction and deception to oppress and to colonize further the Muslim and Highlander natives of Mindanao.
Presuming to solve the Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao, registering to the death of more than Two Hundred Thousands precious lives, dislocation of more than One Million refugees in the islands of Visayas, Luzon and neighboring Sabah and countless material losses, including the burning of civilian houses and public mosques, Philippine colonialism has stage-managed in establishing a farcical Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM). But the ARMM, which is just a mere fabrication of the pork-barrel conscious Philippine Congress/Senate legislators, has turned out a syndicated "milking cow" (termed by MILF Chair Hj. Murad Ebrahim) of politicians-turned "political marketers" of Manila and Mindanao. The fake autonomous set-up has only become the "cheating capital of Philippine elections" benefiting only the political animals in Malacanang Palace and their local stooges in Mindanao. Worst, the ARMM has been used by the unscrupulous and corrupt officials of the different national department agencies to steal by hundred millions using it a downloading centre for "ghost projects" because the gargantuan loot is easily liquidated by ARMM officials receiving the right percentage "commission". This Philippine pervasive corrupt practice was revealed by the former governor of North Cotabato.
Thus, the ARMM has only brought shame and ridicule to the Muslim populace being loudly condemned and protested by the Bangsamoro ulama (scholars) and religious leaders.
MORALITY OF ABANDONING PHILIPPINE COLONIALISM
Now hounded or haunted by all colonial, criminal and political circumstances enveloping the forced and illegal occupation of the Bangsamoro homeland MINSUPALA, how can the erstwhile foreign colonizers, such as Spain, America and Japan, help Philippine colonialism under President Benigno S. Aquino III to solve comprehensively and peacefully the Filipino-Moro war in Mindanao.
Is the conspiracy strategy still uppermost in their national interests to continue the inhumane treatment of the Muslim and Lumad natives of Mindanao as colonial slaves of the Filipino colonizers?
How can the foreign conspirators involved in the brutalization and destruction of the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao become humane and fair enough to help the Philippine government under President Benigno S. Aquino III end the Filipino-Moro conflict in Mindanao with "just and lasting" peace formula?
How can today Spain, America, Japan and the Philippines develop a high fortitude to embrace the anti-colonialism dictums, "no to exploitation of man by another man", "no to the law of the jungle that might is right," "yes to peace, no to war", and "Moros, not Filipinos"?
Simply said, the past and present colonizers as well as all stakeholders to the elusive Mindanao peace should clearly understand that the only moral and genuine solution to the Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao is to address the root cause of the problem. That is Philippine colonialism! The rest of the lip-service formula, including military solution, financial and material dole-outs and color-coated others, is only superficial, artificial and cosmetic because all are merely by-products of colonialism.
On this note, how then can the peaceful and conscious humanity, including the peacemakers and peace advocates in the UN, EU, ASEAN, OIC, NGOs and others, play a historic and objective role to help the Muslim and Highlander natives of war-ravaged Mindanao reclaim their own humanity and freedom from Philippine colonialism?
Simply put, can the Spaniards, Americans, Japanese and Filipinos now at the helm of their respective progressive government be truly human beings to hear the silent cry, genuine sentiments and moral aspirations of their fellow human beings under oppression, historic-religious and culture disintegration and colonial bondage?
In the final analysis, can the past foreign colonizers help the present Christian Catholic Philippine Chief Executive to emulate the historic role of Muslim leaders, like former Indonesian President Habibie and Sudanese President Ahmad Bashir, who boldly abandoned altogether colonialism to end the bloody war in their respective countries, giving peace and freedom to the Catholics of East Timor and Christians/Animists of South Sudan?-rrr/bfs

WHY BANGSAMORO, NOT FILIPINO?

THREAT OF FILIPINIZATION OR CHRISTIANIZATION UNDER PHILIPPINE COLONIALISM
Why is the Christian Philippine government imposing the sinister policy of Filipinization as a subterfuge for Christianization over the colonized Muslim and Animist native inhabitants of the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan (MINSUPALA)?
Is the threat of Filipinization or Christianization under Philippine colonialism really endangering the mental and physical well-being of the Muslim and Indigenous peoples of Mindanao?
What is the morality of the Catholic Filipino nation in perpetuating Philippine colonialism in Mindanao that is causing the bloody Philippines-Bangsamoro war to linger on now for more than forty years, resulting in continuous destruction and humanitarian disaster devastation for the colonized Bangsamoro people?
Why are the Christian Filipino colonizers totally blind to the saddest truth that the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao can never be identified or considered a 'cursed' Filipino and never can become 'Pinoy' or 'Pinay' befitting a Catholic Spanish-born Filipino and a Christianized Indio-transformed-Filipino identity?
Why can't the Catholic Filipino colonizers simply understand that the Bangsamoro people cannot tolerate living or surviving under pervasive contagious corruption, massive poverty, escalating hunger, dirty patronage and warlord politics, pork-barrel system, immoral night-life intensified by alcoholism, gambling centers and prostitution, and other social ills and societal vices introduced, encouraged and tolerated by the secular Philippine government?
Furthermore, can the Christian Filipino colonizers have the heart to adopt the alternative policy of peaceful decolonization or the 'two-nation theory', a truly tried peace formula, to finally end once and for all the destructive nagging Mindanao war? Why can't the Luzon-born Filipino colonizers instead institute lasting and durable peace in the war-torn colonized territory for the sake of the freedom and peace-loving Muslim and Animist natives and as well the Mindanaoan Christian settlers and offspring?
Moreover, why is the usual deceptive language of the colonial Filipino leaders and lawmakers, like 'dismemberment of the Filipino nation', 'rule of law' and 'respect for the Philippine constitution', have to become the unsound basis for solution to the four decades-long Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao, negating or ignoring totally the historical truth that the colonized Bangsamoro people and Filipino-occupied Moro Nation never consented becoming a part or 'member' of the American-fabricated Philippine Republic on July 4, 1946, much less, the Aguinaldo-proclaimed 'Philippine Republic' in Cavite on June 12, 1898, thus, proving that this illogical line of reasoning rests on absolute falsity?
Indeed, in clearly understanding the root cause of the Mindanao war, the above-mentioned startling inquiries, among others, need now to be candidly answered in order to envisage a comprehensive and substantial remedial formula to finally end the more than forty years human conflict in the colonized territory, answering also the question why the Bangsamoro people cannot be considered and identified as Filipinos.
Primarily, what prompted the past Philippine Commonwealth regime Catholic leaders, like Manuel L. Quezon, Claro M. Recto, Elpidio Quirino and others, to have ill-conceived and shamelessly enacted the draconian 'Legislative Act No. 4197' otherwise known as the 'Quirino-Recto Colonization' to endanger the physical existence and mental balance of the Muslim and Animist natives of Mindanao? Is the ugly colonial scheme anchored on leading possibly to their ethnic cleansing or extinction right in their own land of birth?
Is the immoral imposition of Philippine colonialism in the Bangsamoro homeland of Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan being sustained up to date by the oppressive policy of Filipinization or Christianization acceptable then and now to the native inhabitants of the Filipino-colonized territory?
HISTORICAL ASCENDANCY OF 'FILIPINOS', 'INDIOS' AND 'MOROS'
Historically, Philippine colonialism took ugly roots in Mindanao from the beginning of the Spanish invaders in 1521, using the castilian blade and doctrine of Christian Catholicism in forcing and deceiving the native inhabitants of Visayas and gradually Luzon and Mindanao, to abandon their freedom and indigenous religion, thus, serving solely the colonial interests of the foreign invaders.
Nonetheless, the Spanish conquerors, headed by Ferdinand Magellan, encountered stiff resistance from the Visayan natives under Rajah Kulafu ('Lapu-Lapu), who coincidentally was sent to Mactan by the Mindanao-based Sultan of Sulu in securing the tributary tax from the native Visayans being protectorate of the Sultanate of Sulu ('Sultanate of Sulu and North Borneo later in 1798'). In the epic battle of Mactan, Rajah Lapu-Lapu killed Magellan, leading the Spanish marauders to hurriedly retreat back to Spain.
From 1540 to 1560, the second and third wave Spanish invaders pursued their colonial evangelical conquests, naming the occupied islands of Visayas (later to include Luzon) 'Islas del Felipe' ('Filipinas') in honour of the immoral and racial bigot King Philip II of Spain. The aggressive Spanish colonizers further succeeded in Christianizing the Animist natives in Luzon called 'Indios', who adopted in 1872 to be addressed 'Filipinos'. Originally, the so-called Filipinos were the Luzon-born sons and daughters of the Spanish soldiers and friars, who together with the Christianized native Indios consented to become subjects of King Philip II and simply colonial slaves of Spain for about three centuries.
Thus, on this context, the original Muslim settlers of Manila and their co-religionist Muslims in Mindanao can never be identified or considered 'Filipinos' similar to the Catholic Spanish children and Christianized Indios in Luzon and Visayas. It is initially recalled that the Spanish invaders found the big group of native settlers under Rajah Matanda and Rajah Sulayman of Manila and Rajah Lakandula of Tondo to practice the same religion and culture similar to the 'Moors' or 'Maurus' of Mauretania of Iberian peninsula that conquered with Arab support and ruled Spain for 781 from July 19, 711 up to January 2, 1493.
After more than three centuries of colonial campaigns by the Manila-based Spanish invaders, who also utilized the Christianized Indios-converted-Filipinos as servant foot-soldiers, and continued series war resistance by the Moro freedom fighters in Mindanao, it is quite surprising why the Spanish colonizers were able to deceive the American invaders in 1898 to purchase to the tune of $20,000,000 the unconquered Bangsamoro (Moro Nation) domain together with Cuba highlighted in history by the so-called Treaty of Paris. Be that as it may, the injustice most profound was perpetrated against the oppressed Bangsamoro people by foreign powers relying only in the 'law of the jungle' that 'might is right', thus, merely justifying the ugliness of piratical land-grabbing and colonial slavery.
CONTINUITY OF BANGSAMORO FREEDOM STRUGGLE
However, under the imposed American colonial hegemony for forty five years, the Bangsamoro people of Mindanao continued their freedom struggle, registering in history the infamous Bud Dajo and Mount Bagsak massacres in Jolo island, including mercilessly killing in cold-blood women and children by American soldiers. The freedom struggle against American colonialism cum imperialism was also clearly noted in Lanao region with the series of 'cota wars' between the combined American-Filipino invaders and the courageous Muslim defenders.
Likewise, the Bangsamoro people also actively fought for their freedom against the short-lived five years conquest campaigns waged by the Japanese invaders in the 1940s. The imperial Japanese soldiers even registered their highest death mortality rate in Mindanao against the Moro freedom fighters, while the Filipinos surrendered easily in Luzon and Visayas, marking the infamous 'Fall of Bataan' and 'Fall of Corrigidor'. Yet, strangely today Filipinos celebrate this day of surrender as 'heroes day.'
After the end of World War II, the American government and the unscrupulous power-greedy Filipino politicians conspired in further colonizing and occupying Mindanao, Sulu and Palawan together with the Igorot homeland Cordillera Region ('Mountain Province') under the manufactured 'Republic of the Philippines' ('Philippine Republic') on July 4, 1946.
However, the cruel conspiracy of naked injustice committed by the ugly American and Filipino politicians with the arbitrary and illegal incorporation of Mindanao into the 'fabricated Philippine State' has predictably led today to the disastrous genocidal Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao. Tragically, the Mindanao conflict has been dragging on for more than forty years now and, worse, it is certainly showcasing more killings and humanitarian disaster operations in the passing years and possibly in the coming years if not given concrete comprehensive solution.
Also tragically, it is observed that under the Philippine colonial rule, the leading Filipino colonizers, like Presidents Manuel L. Quezon, Sotero Laurel, Sergio Osmena, Sr., Manuel Roxas, Elpidio Qurino, Ramon Magsaysay, Carlos P. Garcia, Diosdado Macapagal, Ferdinand E. Marcos, Corazon C. Aquino, Fidel V. Ramos, Joseph Estrada and Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who are proud being Christian adherents, have had always embraced and unleashed the ethnic cleansing policy of the total integration of the Muslim and Highlander natives of Filipino-occupied Mindanao into the Spanish-inspired and American-crafted Philippine socio-economic political and cultural system.
Thus, the colonial strategem is premised on the blind acceptance by the exploited Bangsamoro people of being called 'Filipinos' or any 'Pinoy-Pinoy' like 'kenkoy' label and presumably to sleep, think and act like them, following the Filipino psyche, 'look Asian, think Spanish and act American', which is truly outlandish and a prostituted cultural belief.
However, truth to tell, in the discerning eyes of the oppressed Bangsamoro people, the Philippine's bullish and oppressive integration initiative against them, exemplified by the defunct Commission on National Integration (CNI) and the 'pork-barrel-conscious' Philippine Congress-crafted National Commission of Muslim Filipinos (NCMF), a substitute of the employment agency model for 'Filipinism' beholden 'Muslims' that was the so-called Office of Muslims Affairs (OMA), is no different from the sinister but subtle process of filipinisation or Christianization colonial strategy. This is similarly patterned after the Spanish and American dirty land-grabbing tactic of the historical Moro Nation by shrewdly pushing for the extinction of the Bangsamoro people through assimilating them into the Christian Catholic Filipino nation to accepting, alas, hook, line and sinker the slavish Christian Filipino identity that is 'cursed from inception', according to Atty. Ely Velez Pamatong.
Nevertheless, it is now a foregone conclusion that how hard Philippine colonialism has undertaken its diabolical policy of Filipinizing or Christianizing the Muslim and Animist natives of Mindanao, it has to pay a dear price of executing a colonial war of extermination and genocide against the ethnic inhabitants of the colonized territory.
On the other hand, the continued freedom struggle of the Bangsamoro people against Philippine colonialism would only prove that they cannot accept being Filipinized or Christianized like the native Indios of Luzon in the past. The simple reason is that they have their own unique religion and distinct rich historic-civilization and cultural heritage, having established their own independent and sovereign nation since 1450 far advance ahead for more than 400 years from the fabrication of the Christian Philippine Republic only in 1946 courtesy of American-Filipino conspiracy.
Thus, within a Catholic Filipino nation, is genocidal war as typified by the Spanish, American and Japanese invasion of peaceful communities in the past the only lasting legacy that the Philippine leadership can proudly offer the next Filipino and Bangsamoro generations and also towards any objective historical research and study in the future?
Why can't a Christian Philippine Republic altogether abandon the ugliness and destruction of war disasters and mass suffering of the colonised freedom-conscious people to finally bring 'just and lasting peace' to the Muslim and Indigenous Peoples as well as the Christian settlers and descendants of war-ravaged Mindanao?
Hence, on the moral side of history, is it possible today for the Catholic Filipino colonizers, particularly the 'straight-path' conscious Philippine leadership under President Benigno S. Aquino III to pursue not anymore the exploitative policy of Christianization disguised as Filipinization or integration, but instead adopt the morally sound policy of peaceful 'two-state formula' or decolonization to finally put closure to the Philippines-Bangsamoro war in Mindanao so as to guarantee permanent harmonious co-existence amongst the Christians, Muslims and Animists of the distinctly and historically separated islands of Mindanao, Visayas and Luzon?
Clearly now, does President Nonoy Aquino, the son of the foremost Filipino national hero and martyr, Senator Benigno 'Ninoy' Aquino, Jr., who openly recognized the national self-determination of the colonized Bangsamoro people of Mindanao, have the true Christian heart to right the historical wrong committed by the Filipino politicians in the past for ill-envisioning the tragic Mindanao war today due to colonial arrogance for economic greed and political power?
If truly possessive of a pure Catholic heart, is it possible for P-Noy to amend the gross injustice done against the freedom-loving Muslim and Animist native inhabitants of Filipino-colonized Mindanao?
Finally, as said by the well-known Indian scholar and thinker, Sayyid Abul A'la Maududi, who helped in conceiving the 'two-nation theory' leading to the peaceful solution of the civil war between the Hindus and Muslims of India:
"A leadership which rests in sin and transgression, in arrogance and trickery, can never win the hearts of people, the most it can do is to take them into outward obedience."
Such indeed is the tragic case today of the Luzon-based Filipino colonizers and the colonized Bangsamoro people of Mindanao. But, in the final analysis, both the colonizers and colonized need permanent peace to achieve full development and bountiful prosperity, like the rest of the Asian nations, not continued war being fueled by rabid Philippine colonialism. -rrr/bfs
