All set for military operation in South Waziristan Agency (SWA)

Bomb meshdud teritory destroy any and every thing that calls himself mehsud armed or unaramed clean this ***** and destroy it for good.

Wow what a great idea? Bro, try to be rational and agreeable. What do you think that bombing Waziristan can help much or launching an operation this time will help us getting things better? Have we done with Swat? Our resources and forces are still in engagement with Terrorists in Swat, Operation Rah-e-Rast's search and clearence ops are still in progress that means that there still are terrorists hidding in dens.

An operation if urgently launched would be destructive and harmful for the reputation of army and for country. Let us prepare ourselves a bit better and let the Swat ops end so that we concentrate on Waziristan with max resources and solemnly.

Waziristan has more difficult terrain than Swat, things will get more difficult if a similar op is not launched on the other side of the border by the allied forces at the same time when we would be fighting here.

Operation in Waziristan is required, no doubt, but not now. Things are not purely in our side and the world wants to break the boosting morale of nation and armed forces thats why they are forcing us to launch an operation in rush.

It is time to fight tactically not emotionally. We must, for now, use the Govt. allied fighting tribes against TTP. Lashkars are already operating we need to strengthen them this would cause less finances and resources and can give good results. Once we have attained clearence from Swat and other matters are settled, an operation in Waziristan would be easy to manage, plus with an environment where TTP will already be fighting, hence with broken morales maybe. And PA will take a role of reinforcements, so fresh and destructive for TTP.

Usage of PAF is extremely useful as it proved in Swat. A joint op of Army and PAF would be a success inshallah. I think Gen. Kyani, since he got the discreation to decide the initiation an op in Waziristan, would consider every aspect before taking a decision.

Best of Luck to Pakistan Army we are with you, all the nation by your side.

Malik said the offensive against the militants in South Waziristan was no longer a matter of choice. ‘It is not an issue of commitment, it is becoming a compulsion because there was an appeal from the local tribes that we should do the operation,’ he said. –AFP/ File photo ISLAMABAD: Pakistani aircraft attacked Taliban militants in their South Waziristan stronghold near the Afghan border as the government said a ground offensive against the al Qaeda-linked fighters was imminent.

The aircraft struck the militants late on Sunday, hours after commandos stormed an office building and rescued 39 people taken hostage after an attack on the army headquarters.

‘The jets hit and destroyed two of their hideouts in Makeen and Ladha and we have a total of about 16 militants killed,’ a Pakistani intelligence official in the region said.

Pakistani Taliban militants linked to al Qaeda have launched numerous attacks on government and foreign targets over the past couple of years killing hundreds of people.

The military has been conducting air and artillery strikes in south Waziristan for months, while moving troops, blockading the region and trying to split off militant factions.

But a ground offensive, in what could be the army's toughest test since militants turned on the state, has yet to begin.

Interior Minister Rehman Malik told Reuters in an interview in Singapore the offensive was ‘imminent’.

‘There is no mercy for them because our determination and resolve is to flush them out,’ Malik said. ‘They have no room in Pakistan, I promise you.’

Malik said members of the Pakistani Taliban and al Qaeda were suspected to have been behind Saturday's attack on army headquarters in Rawalpindi, near Islamabad, which ended a week when suicide bombers struck in the capital Islamabad and Peshawar, killing more than 50 people.

Malik said the offensive against the militants in South Waziristan was no longer a matter of choice. ‘It is not an issue of commitment, it is becoming a compulsion because there was an appeal from the local tribes that we should do the operation,’ he said.

About 28,000 troops have been put in place to take on an estimated 10,000 hard-core Taliban, army officials said earlier. –Reuters

South Waziristan pounded in attack on Taliban

A major military offensive has taken place in the South Waziristan area of Pakistan.

The Pakistan Air Force, reacting aggressively to a terror attack on the Army General Headquarters in Rawalpindi on the weekend, pounded wide areas of the Taliban stronghold killing at least 30 suspected terrorists.

The jet fighters targeted Taliban hideouts on mountaintops and in caves believed to lead to underground bunkers.

The PAF’s operation came after the 24-hour hostage drama inside the Army General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, where Taliban members had taken hostages.

A military commando operation later routed the Taliban members and left nine attackers dead.

Ten other people were also killed, including soldiers.

lol

baitullah was not loyal to any body but to intrests of his TTP

its just stupid to say or think any body works for any body

yes there are tactical relations on basis of give and take

baitullah didnot participated in Afghanistan for which US was lienient on him and tolerated him in his drone attacks

but when US came under pressure in Afghanistan due to its policies and needed help to save its face, it had to satisfy Pakistani demands , so it killed Baitullah Mahsud on Pakistani intelligence report

this game of REALPOLITIK is not a simple game some time an ally on one issue may be bitter opponent on other issues. Groups and governments tends to cooperate tactically for their own Intrests

brother i think baituallah masood and ttp ahd no link with al qaida means its not a branch but al qaida mission to destroy the peace for which al qaida giving asistance for this.its a terrerist team

I can't believe it. I hope Pakistani troops go in their with pure intentions and that their be unity in the Pakistan army. If they have pure intentions, even Allah will be with them. More important then the fighting is to win the hearts and minds of the people.
