All Pakistan Textile Mills Association announces closure of 200 mills from tomorrow

The number of mills/ business that closed in Faisalabad during NS rule was also a shock to the nation yet many didnt even blink?

He knew that private businesses needed to be subsidized and bailed out?

Mr. industrialist ki wi hi bhukat rahay hain hum!

Yes, if you can't fix it, you say you inherited the problem. This will remain the mantra of PTI for next 4 years.

Reason to support businesses is that there wont be rise in unemployment , whats the use of schools , colleges when u dont have job opportunities or favourable business climate?
Yea but if these businesses arent profiting...Why should state support them?

Whats wrong with that? Didnt Shabaz Shariff say change his name if he wont fix electricity in 3-6 mths? He couldnt fix it either...

It is a very very deep problem being dragged for too long and now the cancer is spreading and effecting other sectors!

lolz...Private sector didnt die overnight! It has been dying for awhile....

Our bijli didnt become like this overnight nor our gas! I mean didnt NS sign some tankers that never arrived?
Didnt Bhutto raja's people not allow dams for hydroelectric power? After destroying Pakistan from more than 1 corner...these traitors now join hands without shame?

The past year has been bad for private sector whether you accept it or not, and for the economy too.

Unfortunately both seem to be happening simultaneously!

PM says we are at cross roads.

Now what i am protesting is there are no uturns ahead anymore but people get so sensitive when i say Pakistan has to SELECT the right Exit

Government should gradually decrease subsidies and simultaneously focus on improving business climate likw good infra , logistics , easy loans , Electricity , less red tape , tax benefits
If focus is on these areas , profits will automatic increase and then they wont need subsidies
Why do u think the Chinese provide such huge subsidies to their business?this is like a mother helping a toddler till he learns to walk on his own

Now you're just pointing fingers. I have no interest in arguing anymore.

The facts are the following:

- GDP growth under PMLN was much more.
- NS is an industrialist. Private Sector was a lot better off under him.
- After PTI, Rupee went from 100 to 165.
- After PTI, inflation is high, people are struggling, businesses are struggling. Loans upon loans are being taken.
- After PTI, the economy has gone to the gutters.

Figures speak, and what they speak is that we shouldn't have elected an eff'ing cricketer to the position of a Prime Minister.

Great explanation mate...

Your clearly clueless about this and looking at it from a very normie angle. Just search online how other countries support private businesses.

In fact, when a person is looking to internationally make an investment, he first and foremost, even before looking at market, looks at political atmosphere and government policies.

You don't understand that these private businesses ultimately benefit the state.

Reason to support businesses is that there wont be rise in unemployment , whats the use of schools , colleges when u dont have job opportunities or favourable business climate?
Also if businesses bloom , purchasing power of the employee increases thus more consumption by him thus support to domestic market and this cycle continues

At what costs should we support failing businesses? For decades by your own admission these businesses have been propped up by the taxpayer. What benefit did that provide? Did they use the opportunity to modernise or evolve thier business model to a profit making one? Did they even pay taxes?

Only in banana republics are businesses and industries supported by the taxpayer. Or where there is a political benefit to it.

British farmers are subsidised by the state because they only vote for parties who support that. Taxpayer money goes to farmers who are still operating at losses and closing down. Why bother? They should be let to die and the portion of the rural economy propped up by farms modernised. That won't happen because they vote Tory.

The coal miners voted Labour, Thatcher wiped out the industry in the UK because it was uncompetitive and was being propped up by a state running low on cash. It put entire towns and villages even some cities into economic ruin. It didn't matter - those people always voted Labour anyway, it would impact her support base.

In the developed world taxpayer money only supports industries to win votes. They have the economic luxury to do that.

Pakistan does not have the economic luxury to support failed businesses to win vote. That time is gone.

China, Bangladesh, India, Dubai, Turkey, Half of Europe are banana republics then.

Go and update yourself. China is also now providing you subsidiaries / special status. You should say thanks to current govt for that. No one is stopping Pakistani exporters to penetrate into China market now.
except china

What you are not understanding is that our Government policies play a huge role in the end products of private businesses. Bangladesh has that right which is why many foreign investments are coming through.
if that is so right why are their workers exploited?

The businesses are going there because of cheap labour that they cant find anywhere...the other input is a bonus coz of the currency difference no matter what the electricity and gas bill is, it will be less than the West!

However, in Pakistan due to subsidies we were unaware of the damage that our policies (which didnt happen overnight but have been the same) have been doing!

Our export has always been less mind you, so why the surprise? Ankh say pardah jo uth giyea and you see reality?

MOST of Pakistanis are used to eating like kings not producing while indians and BD are the opposite! Hence, the fault is the people's also! OWN IT!

I have seen very few people who actually bother to put back profit into the business most goes to their greed...over the long run it destroys businesses!

As I stated before: not foresighted! and MOST in Pakistani business sector want a quick bite today not invest for a tomorrow!

Which budget do you suppose we cut to give subsidies to wealthy businesses?

Health? Education? Defence? Infrastructure? Maybe default on some loans?

China and Dubai, Saudi Arabia and votes? Lol. **** off.

Yeah, because we're in the same economic bracket as those countries right?

Every discussion with you brings this to mind.
