All Pakistan Textile Mills Association announces closure of 200 mills from tomorrow

in current situation it seems one of the viable option as our public cannot change on their own and govt cannot do much in this regard so we need to rely on china before it is too late
Will people be happy to pay the price the Chinese ask? If you want tech alone you'll have to pay for it up front. Will the billionaire mill owners used to tax payer money, spend thier own money on tech?

If you want it free, the only way that will happen is with Pakistani companies being sold to Chinese firms or the Chinese setting up thier own factories.

those running these business need to figure that bit out! After all BD can compete are you saying BD is tax free?

The price hike for electricity and gas differs for businesses as compared to household usages!

What you are not understanding is that our Government policies play a huge role in the end products of private businesses. Bangladesh has that right which is why many foreign investments are coming through.

the price of gas and electricity is still more compared to BD and now with more taxation on the textile mills will further put more burden on them

.
Because your Government policies have put them there. What people don't understand is that a Government has to produce favorable conditions for private businesses to grow.

They aren't asking for a hand out, they are asking for a little bit of sense from the Government.

Your industry not running hurts your own country more. These private businesses might as well shift to Bangladesh.
You do realize MOST of these businesses WERE getting subsidize from govt?!

NS supporters were supporting him for a reason!

2ndly MOST who were not subsidized by NS already moved to BD ...alot of Faisalabad mills!

1) Our Rs also is devalued...So technically we should still be profiting if selling at lower prices
2) subsidizing everything has always been a pain on the nation and it is still harming the nation!

.
*facepalm*

Did you consider why it is a shit product?

1. Government taxes, inflation, price hike. Companies forced to drop quality and increase product price.
2. Government incapability to promote industry, and incapability to provide 24/7 electricity, gas and water to these industries.

So? You think money that should be spent on the state ought to be spent supporting the businesses of the rich? Money that should be spent on schools, hospitals, education, defence? At the end of the day either the business pays the bill or the taxpayer does. Inflation and currency devaluation is the result of trying to remain solvent. That's more important than the private enterprises of bad businessmen.

It's the very basics of capitalism - you need to be competitive to survive or you die. Businesses die around the world all the time due to changes in economic conditions and thier failure to adapt to them. Tough.

Yes! And that was needed. The biggest issue these mills faced was continuous supply of electricity, gas and fuel which CPEC sought to fix.
Nawaz Sharif was an industrialist. He knew what was needed. Which is why private sector was much better under him and GDP growth was also 2-times better than what this Government has produced.

.
This Government is trash, it really is, no need to thank it. As far as I think, it should step down.

And you simply don't get it. Even with subsidiaries, it is hard for our products to compete due to quality and price, and that only becomes worse with new price hikes.
The number of mills/ business that closed in Faisalabad during NS rule was also a shock to the nation yet many didnt even blink?

He knew that private businesses needed to be subsidized and bailed out?

Your clearly clueless about this and looking at it from a very normie angle. Just search online how other countries support private businesses.

In fact, when a person is looking to internationally make an investment, he first and foremost, even before looking at market, looks at political atmosphere and government policies.

You don't understand that these private businesses ultimately benefit the state.

Reason to support businesses is that there wont be rise in unemployment , whats the use of schools , colleges when u dont have job opportunities or favourable business climate?
Also if businesses bloom , purchasing power of the employee increases thus more consumption by him thus support to domestic market and this cycle continues

lolz...Private sector didnt die overnight! It has been dying for awhile....

Our bijli didnt become like this overnight nor our gas! I mean didnt NS sign some tankers that never arrived?
Didnt Bhutto raja's people not allow dams for hydroelectric power? After destroying Pakistan from more than 1 corner...these traitors now join hands without shame?
