Algeria and Egypt sent their respective air forces to shore up governmental forces against the armed militia

Since yesterday, two huge fuel tanks are the prey of fire "out of control" because of fighting close by the Oil Company.

The Libyan government has called on residents of the area to leave their homes and sought the assistance of the international community.

The tanks were affected by the explosion of rockets during violent clashes between rival militias. Recent intensify their hostilities on the road to the airport from July 13. Clashes that killed nearly 100 people dead.

The violence also ignited Benghazi in the east of the country with at least 55 dead. Not seen since the fall of Gaddafi in 2011.

This insurrectionary climate has pushed particularly the United Nations, the United States and Turkey to withdraw its diplomatic staff from Libya Nations.

Most foreign countries have asked their nationals to leave Libya as soon as possible. Airports that still work are stormed.

Algeria and Egypt have decided to send planes to lend a hand to the armed forces deal with insurgents.

Libyans hope that the new parliament elected in June manage to impose a halt to the fighting, but will he meet in this chaos?

As we are accustomed to, no communications emanated from the Algerian Government. After the deployment of 8000 troops joining the 6000 Tunisians to comb the Chaambi area, this is the second time within a 4 week span that Algerian forces have been sent to Libya.
Algeria AFF was comprised 6 SU24, 6 SU30 and 2 MIG 29s along with tankers are very active in Lybia

Yep, just saw this. All the recent air strikes that have targeted Islamist militants in Benghazi and eastern Libya which so far no one has claimed may have been the work of the EAF. It certainly makes sense after Sisi's visit to Algeria and the attack on Egyptian border guards now doesn't seem random but more of an act of revenge against operations there. It seems both nations are involved much more than we thought before.

not good idea no country should enter in other's mess

Their mess continues to try and infiltrate our borders as well as kill our soldiers. 21 dead Egyptians are not forgotten so easily.

Egypt should have acted long time ago.

Egypt should have acted long time ago.

Possibly, however, it may have been premature to do so. For instance if Egypt were to intervene before Haftar's attack on Islamist militants it may have seemed that Egypt was deliberatly trying to weaken the Islamist dominated government. Now that Libya is in the midst of chaos and civil war there can't really be any negative voices, especially as the crisis threatens to spill over to Egypt and Algeria. So far the strikes against militants has severly weakened the Takfiri forces and put an end to the "Free Egyptian Army". Any militant will think twice before he travels to eastern Libya seeking training or jihad.

You have Libyan people and international support now. Good going. Libya is a perfect example of "Brotherhood" rule.

Who are they targeting exactly?

It's so sad that they pride yourself in killing fellow Arabs. We always boast about killing each other, sigh.

Your last sentence is disgusting, you sound like a Zio-crusader. Don't throw slurs around like that. You don't understand what Jihad is and insulting Jihad is insulting God and his Prophet.

Ansar Alsharia and its offshoots and other smaller militant groups.

I'm neither proud nor sorry. If they had not continued to attack, infiltrate and kill Egyptian and Algerian soldiers and border guards they would have not been targeted by a coalition force, it would have been entirely a Libyan problem. However, that is not the case.

That is what they believe they are doing and they describe what they are doing as such. Whether it is a perversion of the meaning (which it is) or not is irrelevant, they believe it as such and I shall refer to it as such.

Mate, you should reconsider your support for some of these scumbags. These bloodthirsty beasts know nothing but blood, violence and killing. They are NOT what you think they are, and they are different from Hamas too. Just look at IS that you somehow sympathize with them. Those bastards issued a statement few days ago explaining why they are not going to 'jihad' in Palestine to help fellow Gazans. They should 'purify' Muslim world first, and slaughter Muslims to reach their dirty agendas (and we all know that they won't even dare to raise a finger against Israel).

Kudos to Algerian and Egyptian air forces, they should toast them alive, and they should think twice before launching an attack On Libya's main airport, executing numerous suicide bombings targeting people. It has nothing to do with being Arabs. If they are terrorists, they should be exterminated. These bastards are the ones who have have made a monster from Islam in minds of other people around the world.

Doesn't matter. That means they have their own political ideology. Don't drag religion into this. And to be fair to them, they have a point with their ideology against national armies. That doesn't justify their actions though nor will it get them anywhere.

Neither will back and forth attacks.

I'm not expressing support to anybody. I'm not even sure who this is between. ISIL has nothing to do with this topic though. I am against them.

This is larger than you think it is. Egypt has an agenda along with other regional states here.

I am not supporting Egyptian government either, and actually don't like it much, but it doesn't matter. It's what Egyptians wanted, I hope they are satisfied with their choice and prosper under their new government.

But I am specifically against these groups, because they are abusing the situation in Libya and many other countries. launching terrorist attacks around the country, looting, causing unrest and killing security officers and civilians. They should be eliminated at any cost.

You don't understand the situation in Libya. It is Egypt/Saudi Arabia/UAE/ and some locals on the ground trying to advance their agenda.

Algeria has a legitimate concern. It isn't involved in this and was wrongfully attacked.

Hi,

Thank you for the post----that is a great gesture by your country---stop the fire before it gets to your doorsteps---. Thank you.

.
Can you provide any sources?

It is part of the general conflict going on in Libya i.e forces loyal to General Haftar against Ansar Alsharia and its offshoots, there hasn't been any news attributed to Egyptian and Algerian strikes, likely due to the sensitivity of the matter,

Retired general launches war against Islamists in eastern Libya - IHS Jane's 360

Algeria has a case. Egypt? Egypt has an agenda.

Six Egyptian border guards killed: army spokesman| Reuters

21 Egyptian border guards killed by gunmen - World - CBC News

30 dead soldiers is enough of a cause to level every militant scumbag in Libya. Never mind the continued smuggling of arms and people into Egypt.

Doesn't matter. That means they have their own political ideology. Don't drag religion into this. And to be fair to them, they have a point with their ideology against national armies. That doesn't justify their actions though nor will it get them anywhere.

Religion is the their primary motivator. It is their rudimentary and fundamentalist understanding of Islam that in their eyes justifies what they are doing and provides them with the motivation they need to continue fighting. Religion is a massive part of this and it must be addressed if there is to be an adequate solution to militant Islam.

Neither will back and forth attacks.

So we will recognise them as an independent state, allow them to train militants, and sponsor terrorism worldwide. Good plan that.

I'm not expressing support to anybody. I'm not even sure who this is between. ISIL has nothing to do with this topic though. I am against them.

Ansar Alsharia has aligned itself with IS and recognised Caliph Ibrahim (Albaghdadi) as the current/next ruler/leader of Islam and Muslims.

Your statements in the ISIL/Iraq thread say otherwise. They are righteous are they not?

This is larger than you think it is. Egypt has an agenda along with other regional states here.

Everyone has an agenda Sherlock. It still does not negate the fact that Libya is a massive security headache for Egypt and Algeria and if it deteriorates further, the wider region. It is fast becoming another Somalia.
