Akinci & Aksungur and Turkish Unmanned Fighter Aircraft Program

Then there is no way this will stay in air for 24 hours. Same source Yusuf Akbaba claims that this Akıncı will be 4.5tonnes (1.5 tonnes of that is payload). MQ-9 Reaper's MTOW is 4.76tonnes, MQ-9 carries 1.8 tonnes fuel to feed 900hp engine...

... Now they claim that Akıncı's MTOW is 4.5 tonnes, 1,5 tonnes of this payload, what's left? 3 tonnes. Either way those 3 tonnes are fully fuel (still cannot feed 2 TS-1400 engines for 24 hours o_O ) or there is no way it will stay in air 24 hours.

PD170 will be use on Akıncı not TS1400.

. . .

If made by TEI utilising knowledge and experience gained with TS1400 engine, something along lines of Honeywell LTS101 Engine.

TEI TS1400 engine

Honeywell LTS101 Engine looks similar but with less compressor/burner stages. Also such engine would be perfect for light utility helicopter project

Who says TS-1400 engines will be used on Akıncı ? o_O

Ehh

Two TS-1400 turboprop engines

By "TS-1400 turboprop engines", i meant the turboprop engines that will be built based on TS-1400. Not "TS-1400s will be used as they are" o_O I named them as such since there is no official name for the turboprop engines that will be based on TS-1400s.

He doesn't say "will make it's maiden flight" but "delivery will start in 2020". If so, maiden flight would be done in 2019, and that means entire concept desing or even detail desing are already done.

Hmm, yes that's a good point. Either the endurance spec must be wrong or a much smaller engine than the TS-1400 will be used. Doesn't say TS-1400 on the official chart anyway. I guess maybe TS-1400 derivative might be used but I doubt it, not enough time if it will be delivered by 2020.

He also mention that it will be very maneuverable UAV, "like half the maneuver of a jet".. It must have a good power..

Turkey should start exporting these air vehicles.. lets say if they produce 30 vehicle a year, they must export at least 6-7 of them as they might loose those customers if they keep them waiting..

Baykar Makina's latest armed drone hits production line
611

Leading unmanned air system manufacturer Baykar Makina is developing a new heavy armed unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) called the Akıncı, the company's Chief Technology Officer Selçuk Bayraktar said.

The twin-engine, medium-altitude, high endurance Attack UAV System (Akıncı) with 24 hours of endurance at 40,000 feet is in production. Bayraktar shared an image of the first fuselage via twitter, saying: "A large flying fish entered the production line. It is on its way. Stay tuned."

Images of the Akıncı, previously announced by Minister of National Defense Nurettin Canikli, were released for the first time. With a service ceiling of 40,000 feet, the Akıncı will weigh five tons, have a useful load capacity of 1.5 tons, have 24 hours of endurance and be equipped with a turboprop engine.

Turkey, which has taken important steps in the domestically developed and armed UAV systems, has completed a significant part of the design process in the larger Akıncı following ANKA. Set to make its first flight in 2020, the system will carry 900 kilograms of ammunition. Delivery is expected in 2021 after a one-year testing period. Baykar Makina has been delivering combat drones to the Turkish military since 2015. Bayraktar TB2 armed drones support the fight against terror, while providing effective surveillance, reconnaissance and fire support to security forces in Operation Euphrates Shield and Operation Olive Branch in Syria.

The Bayraktar TB2, developed and with domestically produced electronic, software, aerodynamic, design and sub-main systems, stands out as the world's most advanced UAV system in its class with its flight automation and performance.
