There was a time that a bomb blast was a big deal. Unlike today where bomb blasts are a common occurrence. The part that I agree is we both have spies and non state actors and we should tow a line between not getting in the middle of it like the emotional people we become just to blame each other with newspaper articles. He was unjustly killed and murdered. That was something that should not have happened. He should have been hung and given his last rights.

The point here is

1) Pakistani never ever convicted any Taliban fighter even though the evidence is clear, the judgement delivered here is also some what questionable, The evidence in his case was not a clear either.

2) In the mean time he served 2 life sentences in Pakistani Jails.Considering that the punishment should have been less on the humanitarian grounds.

3) This is clear tit-for-tat action from Pakistan.

On Surjit Singh, yes he was a spy but not a terrorist . He was an informer of the army and intelligence agencies.

The witness Saleem Shaukat whose father and relatives were killed in the bomb blast alleged to have been caried out by Sarabjeet later retracted from his statement saying he gave his intial statement under police pressure. Why would anyone speak in support of a man who has killed his father and relatives ?????

He may or might not have been a spy but he almost certainly was framed for bomb blasts he did not commit. She did have a lawyer. Earlier a British lawyer Jas Uppal but she failed to appear for the hearing and the case was dismissed by pak supreme court. later she hired a pakistani lawyer.

You people also believed that Surjeet was innocent.

Going by your logic, if you knew he was guilty, you wouldn't have asked for his release, but in reality Surjeet admitted at Wagah that he was a spy.
