Air Force version of ‘Akash’ missiles test-fired

I am struggling to understand what do we mean by airforce version. What will be different? Sam is always surface to air missile.

I am struggling to understand what do we mean by airforce version. What will be different? Sam is always surface to air missile.

There is a difference in the launchers.
Airforce launcher is based on a Tata(?) truck wereas Army launcher is based on BMP Chasis.
Mobility of system is not a top priority for airforce version as they are used to defend airbases.
For Army version,mobility is a top priority for obvious reasons.
