It was. PAF was only trained to defend Pak sector. Pak army was not very offensive. We could do some bt in reality it was not success. Now PAF and Army is openly explaining that the war will go into India. And the Indians know it.

looking at their inventory they are relying on single engined lightweight fighters.

To attack india which has over 600 planes SPREAD OUT on 60 airbases with the depth of their current and future air defense/survalliance SYSTEM PAF WILL; to reinvent itself into HUGE strike force.

Twin engined MULTI ROLE fighters that can carry large loads vast EW suites and have enough fuel to go upto 500km into indian air space. Ideal candidates RAFALE OR J11 from China.

Nite attack capability to avoid being swamped by hundreds of BVR IAF fighters.

Numerical superiority. Currently the ratio is 1.7- 1 in india Favour. To go into india and take an air war surely you need to either out number IAF or have far superior tech edge so PAF wins based an more lethality eg Israelis always win on having AWACS support better BVR/WVR missles and better American fighters.

In my opinion a future PAF consisting of 100+ Rafale/Typhoon

150 FC20 & 250 JF17/F16 = 500 PLANES would and could take the air war into india. The basis being the Typhoon/rafale would provide the tech edge and the FC20/JF17/F16 wud give the tech parity and nos match up..
