I don't have any info on that but will update you when I get any but KLJ-7A has been developed.

Frankly i dont care about this topic but the only thing that strikes me is the highlighted part. I have read this "help" to chinese from russia in many fields.
Why does russia assist china in so many high tech areas when it knows that the chinese are going to undercut them ?
2ndly why does India not normally get such assistance from russia ? We dont try or we get better tech from the west ?

And according to your article there were 14 teams involved in the development of RADAR for JF-17 so they definitely fast tracked it.

There were many PAC team visits to those facilities for this development and this whole development happened at a single place thus it was a very focused effort.

14th institution is the cradle of China airborne radar system. If the radar tested in Pakistan is KLJ-7A, it means the radar is combat-ready.

I have no info that KLJ-7A was tested in Pakistan today the ground based new RADAR of NO.14 was tested today in Pakistan. The KLJ-7A is being tested of FC-1 in China I have confirmation of that.

Yes this could be it. Because this is the RADAR that fulfills the statement of continuous tracking with exact measurements. Plus today's missile target was a stealth design.

Yes I have read that this RADAR can also help Chinese existing anti air systems to track in coming missiles and have a better lock on them.

Pakistan started JF-17 as a cheap and affordable fighter but the upgrades that are going to take place under Block III are making it some king of super fighter. I don't know what will be the end price tag with the new engine RADAR and armament but it is becoming the most deadly bird that will fly south Asia.
