AI robots to patrol India borders soon, How is Pakistan countering?

Indian scientists have reportedly been working on all-terrain AI-enabled robots that might be used to patrol international border of the country. The Bengaluru-based Central Research Laboratory of defence PSU Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) is working on developing a prototype for such a robot by December this year, The Times of India reported.

The BEL robot will be equipped with sensors and programmed to communicate with the control centre, the report said. In addition, it will also be able to work in situations like the recent Easter blasts across Sri Lanka while conducting surveillance, it further added.

The primary objective of the border patrol robots will be to save the lives of security personnel deployed for border surveillance. The estimated cost of these robots will be in the range of Rs 70-80 lakh for small orders. This price tag could go a lot lower if the army places large orders, the report said.

Of course only Indian can master the technology with the great vedic knowledge while everything Pakistan has or does is somehow from China. Wake up and smell the coffee (in Indian case smell the cow urine)

About a decade ago around 2008 or so there was news that Pakistan was one of the few country that will be developing military robots. I cannot find the link as it was on another forum which I cannot access.... so I cannot verify that news.

However, we (as in human) race is some long distant away from development of robots to replace human soldiers in particular killer military robots.

Such sarcasm with little substance. If Pakistan is one of the leading countries to make military robots in 2008 itself, you would not be hard pressed to find similar articles on the same in 2019. So I would suggest you to wake up and smell the coffee( or whatever weird thing you like to smell).

AI is the future. It may not replace human intelligence just yet but it can greatly add to that intelligence.

You read my disclaimer? I have been playing forum forum for over 15 years. I am hard pressed because you will not hear much from Pakistan until things are up to scratch and revealed. Like when dhottis fell off in 1998 when Pakistan conducted Nuke tests.

Prior to that India under BJP was talking about rivers of blood in Pakistan.

There is a difference between adding to human intelligence which can be achieved by computers with better processing techniques. While robots are distinct in their nature.

What Indian is developing can be achieved but placing high capacity cameras and other sensors on towers along the length of Border which are relayed back to a nerve centre and the data is processed and situational awareness pictures can be formed.

You can than have rapid reaction team to counter any activity.
