Ahmadinejad to visit Pakistan next week/further talks on Gas pipeline

They already tried to do it, in 80s and 90s while Saudis funded Taliban, Lashkar e Jhangvi etc. They will pay heavily, if they repeat, we specialize in proxy warfare, its a well known fact.

wow, really saudi funded taliban?.....
but why i read on internet ISI pakistan former of thaliban?

need clarify here please.....

Conspiring with a foreign power or propelling an agenda on behalf of foreign power or government should be considered equivalent of treason and the accused tried under military court and sentenced to death if proven guilty. Because this nuisance of Arabs vs Persian is going to last for eternity and it is important for us to balance the relationship at both end.

It already is treason i think.

Well, its a reality we have to live with. They hate each other based on absolutely NOTHING. We hate none of them, and therefore need to secure our business relationships with BOTH through finding and equilibrium.

.
This corrupt regime made this project late, i hope it doesnt get much delayed now. Energy crisis is worsening day by day.

Fact-1: Most of the funding for the "Jihad" against the soviets came from the US, Saudi Arabia and Europe.
Fact-2: Taliban were a product of "Operation Cyclone" a set of "Joint Black Ops" executed by the ISI & CIA.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Cyclone

Fact-3: ISI is a NOT one organization, its more like a conglomerate of many different intelligence wings, they trained the Taliban and other groups in guerrilla warfare and provided logistical and intelligence support throughout the operation around over a decade, along with the CIA. The Americans had U-2 planes stationed at Peshawar Air Base, from which they flew recon missions over Afghanistan to provide fresh intelligence to the Taliban on USSR movements.

Taking unregistered donations from forgien nationals should also be added to the list.
This is why relations with Israel are important, it will act as a pivotal force to keep clowns in check.

Pakistan is for Pakistanis, those who want to be Sunni or Shia should find a home in Arabia or Iran.

Relations with Israel, will earn Pakistan nothing more than permanent hostility from the Gulf.

Bravo.!

Bravo.!

Gulf itself has relations with Israel through overt and covert means.
They have not reacted negatively to India and Egypt relations with Israel - instead they suck up to them more.

We on the other hand are "brotherhood fools" being pawned for nothing. No reason why Pakistan shouldn't have a relation with Israel because rest assured, we have the daunting task of balancing power with India and Israel has a major defense tech producers posses a serious indirect threat shall we refuse to be on friendly terms with them. This is one arena where Gulf has nothing to offer other than "tawakal Allah" lessons as usual.

.
Thank you but we don't want extensions of Hamas and Hizbollah in Pakistan.

Apples and Oranges , mate !

Iran has got nothing by supporting terrorism in Pakistan ... Why , when Tehran itself is fighting Jundallah militants ? However , our country's best buddies the Gulfers whom they revere and workship to the extent that they will slap you right in the face if you talk about Arab betrayal are actively supporting BLA's proxies ...

No room for Muslim brotherhood in the world ! Let the clash of the interests begin ...

Egypt HAD no choice & India fares on its economic size. None of them are applicable to us.

Israel isn't God, nor it is the sole producer of weapons, we get stuff we need to get from them through 3rd party sources. The balance you are talking about will NOT be achieved UNTIL we have a potent, independent economy which means we can follow a business oriented F.policy and not the one based on rhetoric.

"tawakal Allah": Our nation was created on this principle, for right or wrong reasons, our people believe in it too maybe too deeply to an extent of non productive stubbornness. Right, now we need leadership - there is nothing else Pakistan needs more at the moment. There always will be time to play international politics and we are in NO position to do that right now. This is time to patch up -- one day we will have more Pakistani nationalists than anything else... mark my words.

The past states otherwise, may be Iran is battling Jundallah in its own borders but will be tempted to vent some Arab grudge they carry. We have to be wary and safeguard our interests. Remember Iran did not hesistate to undertake terrorist operations in India recently. The ayatollah regime is dangerous.

There is never end of hope and Pakistani economy is not running on donations from Gulf anyway. We have a much bigger role to play in Afghanistan and Central Asia. By being the trade bridge we can make our economy soar upwards but first we have to divorce the "Brotherhood" mentality. It is in our long terms intrests to distance further from Iran and GCC but bring ourselves closer to Turkey, China, Russia and -Stan Bloc.

Given the unique position of Pakistan, we have to realize that those who pretend to be our friends are not in our best interest to be with.

Let the past be past , mate ! This is all about interests - we have energy crisis and need to solve it ... I do not care if the Gas and Oil even comes from Tel Aviv ! And I still do no think that Iran can afford to piss off its last left friends at this moment , honestly ...

As long as business is transacted as ethical business, I am all for it.

Its a bit shame that with energy rich Iran next door, we look up to IMF, Gulf and West for help.

Iran and Pakistan and neighbors and that reality is not going away until some third country is carved in between - may be unified greater Baluchistan :P (just trolling)

Yara, that is just ONE aspect, Allah has blessed Pakistan with capabilities like no other. The first and foremost, investment Pakistan needs to make is in its youth, its our Wunderwaffe.

You mean the motto of the millions of mostly poor Pakistanis brainwashed with Mullah interpretation of Islam mixed with old tribal mentality ? The motto which asks those people to produce children like rabbits because lets fact it you do not need to do anything after bringing them into the world ... God will keep feeding you without doing anything as if it is the only aim for humans on earth ( worldly education is not ******* necessary by any means ! ) ... For the rest , you have the popular Madarsas - a national security risk running on hard earned Middle class money ready to train them to attack those who do not agree with their sick interpretation ! About time we close them like we did with the Red Mosque if we have to safe the country !

That does it then , brother ! :P

Indeed so ...

Not happening in a thousand years time - for those who know the demographics :D

My question: why?

Why did Pakistan do this? What was in it for Pakistan? I just don't get it.

If the reasoning was that USSR was then going to invade Pakistan so Pakistan wanted to train the taliban in order to stop the USSR than that's also a failed arguement. Having a group like the Taliban is 1000 times worse than the danger that Soviets MIGHT have possessed to Pakistan, specially when Pakistan itself has so many Pashtuns that would become future Taliban members. It's just so baffling to me.
