Ahmadinejad to visit Pakistan next week/further talks on Gas pipeline

Today Syria is burning because Assad refused allow petro-arab's pipeline to pass through their soil to Turkey>Europe , energy wars are not something to take lightly so i hope whatever decision Pakistan takes it will not bring any harm to Pakistan.

You better get out of your **** temple and you would see the world better. If Iran was selling gas at higher price,Pakistan could choose and not to buy it.Now tell me,how the hell do you want to buy gas from Arab countries when you don't have a border with them?maybe the pipeline could pass through your temple.

humans invented something called ships a long time ago, to transport cargo from one lands not connected to another land

and some other thing called under water pipeline, got it?

some iranians say to promote you to iranian mod, but taking cheap shots like that, you show your true standards here

It's too expensive by ships and last time I saw a news that Qatar was looting Pakistan with higher price for LNG, the deal is yet to be finalized, ip pipeline is the most reliable.

i was talking about saudi arabia and not qatar, saudi arabia sent delegation to pakistan to propose better deal than iran, we have done business with saudi for decades and the other factor iran selling us relative cheaper gas are the sanctions, how come one knows if iran increases or demands increase in gas prices once the sanction is lifted

pakistan has never done business deals with iran

saudi arabia has donated free oil barrels to pakistan when pakistan economy came at a very low, we should deal with some one which we can trust and which we have experience with

I think....we are missing some dots here....Iran has already built the pipeline. And if laying down of pipeline in Pakistan only cost $500 million dollar why cannot Iran provide loan to Pakistan?? Why do Pakistan need to go to any other banker? And 2nd aspect is more important that if GCC nation is not really interested that Pakistan should go ahead with pipeline deal, I really doubt that Pakistan has that much of political will power go against the interest of SA and GCC nations.....

I feel that rather than banker providing the loan, this is more to do with Pakistan is being obstructed by GCC nations so as to stop the projects...Some knowledgeable members can provide more information about it.

Iran don't have that kind of money to provide on loan especially to Pakistan which is struggling to pay interest and loans from other monetary organizations.

It may take 5 more years to materialize, what shall we use till then. Cow waste gas?

Even after development, the extra 0.3-0.4 TCF will add only about 18 months' worth of supply, and likely less than that, given the rate of increase in consumption. Hardly a major addition it seems, albeit welcome nonetheless.

i dont support this project iran is selling expensive gas, we must talk to gulf states and buy cheaper gas for the time being we explore our own reserves

I dont know whats your problem with Iran, but their gas isnt more expensive than others (like Russia), and the cheaper deal with PGGC you refer to comes with conditions, i.e. Pakistan cutting off ties with Iran. While you may be fine with it, but this is a very short-sighted policy. What would happen if US would sanction Pakistan in the future? PGGC would immediately suspend oil and gas exports to Pakistan, Iran is cut off by Pakistan itself, what then? Pakistan would be screwed.

Learn from China, they are importing from everyone, and despite of PGGC "cheap deal" offers, China imports from Iran at the record levels. Because they are smart enough not to put all eggs into one basket.

I didn't talk cheap,I'm saying the truth.you can not afford an underwater pipeline,do you even know what it means?
It's much much more cheaper for you to buy gas from Iran.
You can't transport natural gas with ships, unless you turn it in to LNG,and considering the amount of gas Pakistan needs,it's not beneficial for both sides at any means.

no iran hasnt

Yes,Iran has completed the pipeline on its side,it's only up to Pakistan to build the pipeline in its territory.

I thought I made my self clear, Riyadh did not authorize this deal. Stop wasting your time:coffee:

Ignore that dude. He has to answer a lot of other questions....

Okay let me understand this.

Riyadh is mute on IndoUS nuclear deal that discriminates Pakistan.

Riyadh has refused to gurantee energy security to Pakistan in the event of an Indian invasion.

Riyadh is not forthcoming, with ANY cheaper and more viable alternative to IPP.

What does Riyadh want, makes zero sense. instead of echoing Washington's line through Riyadh to FORCE Pakistan to back off from IPP.

We DONT want, TAPI for political and, security reasons just yet. It would have been, better if Riyadh had realized our energy starved economy needs IPP.

IPP will be operational, even with all regional and international power politics because of the final destinaton on IPP which is called China.
