Compare zardari vs nawaz ..clearly zardari did better at the economic front..slightly better gdp figures are simply due to over spending that resulted in devaluation and contraction of our gdp this year by 25%

Actually it's not that unique...as someone already pointed out, it's similar to USAF 867th attack squadron's patch.

There have been aggressive ancient warriors throughout many periods and many regions...including ours. So there is plenty to pick from that relates more to Pakistanis/Muslims

plus will shows more enlightenment to rest of Airforces.

Adopting/following/mimicking others isn't the way to show enlightenment. USAF, the best in the world, has its own traditions...it doesn't follow other countries...does it make them less enlightened?

I highly doubt Pak would be getting the Greek F16s. Greece just barely got bailed out by EU not too long ago. Their economy isn't doing so well right now. They are not in a position to make new purchases of fighter jets...which means they have to stick to what they got(mainly F16s) if they wanna defend their skies.

Personally I'm not super against this...afterall it is just a name/symbol...and I'm not the type who considers one thing superior to others or looks down at other cultures. It's just that we should take as much pride in our culture as others take in theirs...rather than abandoning our culture while trying to mimick others. So while this single instance in itself isn't a big deal...it is the broader mindset that needs a change.

I would like to know why we can not give Aggressors thee insignia of ABABIL?

1) This Bird infact is the one that showed the entire world the destructive power of an Air Force.
2) It also showed being small does not make one weak.
3) It showed Aggression can be in defence.

There is already a SAR squadron named Ababeel based in Mianwali.

Yes sir, the information i was able to obtain was that it will be designated 29th Aggressor Squadron rather than the CCS flight. I think there are sufficient F-16 frames to form another independent unit.

The GCSE , desi goray boys now being recruited in PAF and all armed forces are far from our traditions , our history and our religion. They have been made foreighners while in Pakistan due to foreign education given to them in expensive private schools.
They were taught about Spartans but not about the event of Ababeels.

I know many young people in the air force who belong from villages and got their education from government schools..Students who study in famous schools like City School,LGS etc etc usually cant even clear initial tests of the selection,most of the selected candidates are from middle class who study in average schools.

Squadron names are decided by upper command who ofcourse are old school people and not the type you are referring to so your argument here is illogical.

Yeah I'm not disputing that there aren't F16s available. I was just telling him that it's highly unlikely that PAF will get used Greek F16s.

As for the new vs old F16s...Pak wouldn't be getting new ones bcuz they are no longer going to be subsidized. Pak's financial problems and being tied to sanction prone platform for the next few decades(if new jets) would keep Pak from dishing out money to buy at full price. US obviously prefers to sell new ones rather than resale of old ones in order to make the most profit...however in the past US has allowed that to happen in cases where due to political circumstances a direct sale wasn't preferred. So while US/Pak relations have suffered in recent years...it's still a possibility that US might allow the sale of Jordanian F16s for example and Pak can get them upgraded in Turkey...all of this as a backdoor diplomacy which will be highly dependent upon what US can gain in return.
