What's new

After resignation of two Ministers, PM family members involved will be spared in Cyril's issue

Desperate people will cling to anything to bring down a government. If mass protests don't work something else will.

But it is related to National Security, it's been confirmed by a government that it's own secret intelligence agencies work with terrorists groups.

Sir, the whole world knows this ; it is the worst kept secret after Yahya's affinity for the juice of the grape. It does seem like scores being paid off.

But why are the youngsters going hysterical? Just look at the posts on this thread.

The whole world knows everyone has skeletons in their closets. Its the public acclamation, this isn't the PM talking with just the Army Chief.

Some people can't handle truth being public, they don't want to see skeletons but unicorns and rainbows.

If it weren't happening right in front of me, I would have been so sceptical, so amused.

Was it that? I am not sure people are thinking through what happened.
  1. Is it worth trying to preserve the secret? Everyone knows it.
  2. Is it worth condemning the civilians for telling the military the truth, just because the military doesn't want to hear it?
  3. Why did the civilians have to tell the military? Was it not because the military had the evidence all around them, but refused to take it in?
  4. Having had the self-evident truth pointed out, is it rational for the military to kick up a fuss? Do they expect that by heavy breathing, alternately holding their breath until they turn blue in the face, and such antics, they can reverse everything, and people will now forget that they were accused or that they were responsible in the first place?
What sense is this making? Don't tell people that we sponsor terrorists, because then they will get to know that we sponsor them?

Seems like you are one of those useless people who likes to warm their hands, when someone else's house is burning.

Useless rants, and immense heartburn won't change ground realities. Best to worry about your leaky roof.

I am really perplexed by this post.

  1. Pakistan was made so that Muslims of the sub-continent could be sure that they could maintain their life-style and culture undisturbed, without the pressure of a majority community that might oppose some features of that culture.
  2. What has the civilian administration telling the military that its support of terrorism and terrorist groupings is costing Pakistan dearly in the eyes of the global community got to do with that?
  3. What treason was involved? News about that meeting should not have been secret in the first place. It would have put added pressure on the ISI to roll back its support of those groups. That is a bad thing?
  4. Why should civilians be subject to military jurisdiction? Have the civilian courts been abolished?
This kind of thinking weakens a nation, it does nothing to strengthen it.

Don't be "perplexed." Worry about how the butcher of Gujarat, became the Butcher of Kashmir, and how it is weakening India.

You might like to look up 'whataboutery'.

Why would I want to look up your personality traits?

LOL.

It is not a personality trait, mine or yours or the King of Burma's.

It is a logical fallacy that trips up a lot of discussions, where one party is full of zeal but has no points to make.

So nice to be discussing this with such a learned, balanced person.

Your holier than thou attitude, and thin veil of secularism, doesn't work with me. Your hatred and bias for Pakistan is clearly evident, when your own backyard is one stinky mess.

Are you a Pakistani? Or are you just warming your hands?

Proud to say an Honorary one.

That explains it. The constant need to say and do things that keep you on the friends' list.

There are medical cures for that kind of fundamental insecurity, but no doubt you have already sampled most.

Off:topic - it is nice to see that even you know the difference between honorary and honourable.

.

If you have to keep proving yourself to your friends, then they are not your friends.

BUT I don't expect someone, who only has voices in his head to give him company, to understand that.

There are medical cures for that kind of fundamental insecurity, but no doubt you have already sampled most.

.

Well since you are such an expert on medical cures, how about coming up with something for the downtrodded Dalits, or your fellow countrymen who run around abusing women?

Luckily, the world doesn't give a rats behind to your illogical conclusions.

Don't worry about me, worry about your sorry behind, rotting away in that sorry country of yours.
