Petrol shortage in Punjab irks motorists, passengers
ISLAMABAD/LAHORE - Over the last two days, motorists and passengers are facing problems due to shortage of petrol across Punjab at the gas stations forcing them to stand in long queues, repeating the scenes of rush at CNG stations.
The authorities of PSO and Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources have failed to sort out the fuel shortage and no explanation is coming from them. According to sources, the problem worsened due to the reduced oil imports, whereas fog has also increased the fuel crisis as vehicles carrying fuel have to face difficulty in petrol transportation to pumps at night. Most of the petrol pumps are closed and those opened have long queues of cars and motorcycles. This situation has disrupted the routine life of citizens.
As per sources, a ship carrying imported fuel will dock the port today after which the fuel supply is likely to be improved. In Rawalpindi and Islamabad the situation is more worrisome. Petrol is available at PSO pumps but the long queues have made the motorists jittery. Several people were seen complaining about the attitude of the government towards their problems. They said that most of their precious time is passed while standing in queues. They said at this point of time when the oil prices have come down by almost 50 per cent why this shortage is being created.

Supreme court is handpicked by the govt?Sad to hear that.
According to news coming out at this side of border, I think it will be resolved soon.
Is there any way Supreme Court of Pakistan could interfere in between and ask government for reasons?
There are a lot of times here in India when supreme court questioned government and made them to take action. Latest one is about list of black money holders.
Petrol is one of the basic necessity now a days and I think supreme court could take some step in regard of this crisis.
