Comparing the economic performance of the UPA govt vs NDA or to be specific, MMS govt policies vs those of earlier govts including ABV's, is absolutely absurd. The business environment today is much more complex and dynamic than what it was back then.
Not that I'm a fan of UPA2's economic policies, but to say so and so person as our PM or FM would have prevented the increasing economic crisis is actually very unfair on our part cause remember, people occupying those posts actually are much more knowledgeable and competent in their fielda as compared to people like us. They are professionals.
That said, I'm all against the so called 'socialist' policies (or shall I say vote bank politics) of this govt, primarily the increasing of cap for subsidized cylinders, and even the food security bill.
The reason why I admire Vajpayee is cause he was a gutsy PM, perfect example of how a PM should strike a balance between aggression and reasoning. His speeches in the Parliament are actually inspiring.
The name Tejas was given by ABV to our homegrown aircraft project.
Anyone downplaying the validity of India's foreign policy should look back and see where we stood and where we are now in terms of diplomatic relations with the rest of the world. Agreed perhaps our ties with our immediate neighbours are not at their best, but regions where our economic interest lies, the middle east, Africa, we have actually laid a strong foundation.
Too bad both these men (MMS and ABV) actually presided over corrupt govts, opportunity lost for us, wish they had been in the same govt.
