“The Government of Kenya wishes to stand in solidarity with the people and Government of India during this time of the COVID-19 pandemic by donating consumable food stuffs,” Willy Bett, High Commissioner of the African country to India, said.

Mr. Bett, who came to the financial capital from New Delhi to hand over the food articles, said the donation is directed to the frontline care givers who continue to work long hours to save lives.
Indian Red Cross Society Vice-Chairman (Maharashtra branch) Homi Khusrokhan said the donation symbolises the empathy that the people of Kenya have for the people of India and is re-assuring.

The global community has united to support India that has been affected by the ravages of the second wave of COVID-19.

There is no shortage of food in India. However, due to the policies of the current government, there is inflation as well as people who have been pushed into poverty rendering food to largely become unaffordable for many. Many daily wage earners have no work because of lockdown and economic slowdown.

yeah but this argument is nonsense and illogical.

By the same logic pakistan has no shortage of gold (I think they have a mine with $3 trillion worth of gold). But it doesn’t mean it’s helping them or it’s participating. Just by having something doesn’t mean anything unless u build the infrastructure to have it participate in the economy

Not likely , they try to get anything they can get from anywhere in the world ,
they receive most aid in the world s well

.

Oh please not again stupid wristband sites or some third party stupidity. You cannot simply turn Japan's JICA investment in India as AID. They are all loan for infra project and such. These are not aid.
Go to the quoted DAC source and read it fully if you can.

wow wow, why Africa gifts the supa powa?

Good gesture from African countries but to be honest it is not required. We are not going to do the same thing what US did with Chinese Ventilators but it is not required imho.

I am surprised you didn't say India is not a racist country because it accepted African aid.

.
I watched an Indian YouTuber saying the government won't allow him to give food to people on the streets. It has to be given by an organization. Why not let people help people?

Africa honestly is doing better then India and I would say majority of African nations are doing better then India.

Few mentions: Djibouti, Kenya, South Africa, Bostwana, Zimbewe, Tanzania, Nigeria, Mozembique, Ghana, Sudan, madagascar, Zanzibar, and Maurtius and most of these countries I mentioned are sub-saharan and have plenty of Indian immegrants.

Aside from some countries warring each other in central Africa the region has entered a golden age of tranquility and prosperity. Africa has become the posterboy for peace and tranquility.. If you visit places like Bostwana and Kenya etc etc you will be amazed there is certain level of peace and tranquility you won't see anywhere else.

Africa will become the only neutral continent in WW3 where people could seek refuge in... It doesn't matter which warring side anyone is on but they will find refuge in Africa and new beginning

Maybe it isn’t gift but a form of tribute?

Africa survived the covid and were sort of spared from that and also they are experiencing lowkey good era. There was surplass assisting India at this given moment was the only logical thing to do since the situation there is deterioting
