Afghanistan invoking Pashtunistan

As long as grass is greener on Pakistani side, Pathans are going to stick with Pakistan. Money and livelihood mattes most for them. British have remarked "Buy the Pathan , honour the Baluch"...........that is biggest incentive for Pathan is money and he places it above honour.......As long as Pakistan is economically stronger than Afghanistan, no thought will be given to Pashtunistan by Pakistani pathans.

This is what Afghans say, are you afghan? :P

@A-Team What do you think will happen if there is a referendum on both sides of the Durrand line and Pukhtoons are asked to choose from the 3 options below

1. All Pukhtoon lands to be joined with Afghaistan
2. All Pukhtoon lands to be joined with Pakistan
3. Stay as is and accept Durrand Line as permanent border

Former president of Afghanistan talks to THE PASHTUN TIMES

KABUL: Former President Hamid Karzai said that if Pashtuns from Pakhtunkhwa decide to Pashtunistan, he would respect their decision.

In an interview with The Pashtun Times, the ex-president said that in the Durand Line Agreement, the Durand Line was not called a border. “It was not called a border but the term sphere of influence was used. It means sphere of influence between the British India and Afghanistan, not a border,” he said.

When asked will he stand beside Pashtuns living on the other side of the Durand Line to support an independent state of Pashtunistan, the former Afghan president said that if Pashtuns decide to Pashtunistan, their decision would be respected.

“From the River Amu [Oxus] to Attock, Afghans live. There are different groups of Afghans. If Afghans living on the other side of the Durand Line decide to have an independent state we will accept it. We shall respect their decision whatever it is,” he said.

Karzai said the Durand Line cannot separate Afghans because the line has not been recognized by anyone for over a century. “No one will recognize it. It cannot separate the nation. The line has not separated the nation. When we went to the other side of the Durand Line, the people welcomed us as their own brothers. Therefore, it cannot separate us and no one recognizes it. It cannot keep us away from each other,” he said.

When asked whether anyone in Afghanistan will recognize the Durand Line, the former president replied that such a person would never arise in Afghanistan. “If such a person did come, at that very moment, the people of Afghanistan will kick him out of Afghan Millat [nation].”

He told The Pashtun Times the Durand Line was imposed by British Empire on Afghan people. “It was imposed on Afghans because of a weak government and at difficult time. Neither that time nor now Afghans recognize the line. We did not complain about this to Pakistan because at that time Pakistan did not exist,” Karzai said, adding that there was Hindustan only, which was ruled by the British, part of the British Empire. Pakistan came into being later.

“We say two things to Pakistan, first, we do not recognize the line because it was imposed on Afghans by the British and the whole world knows it, as does Pakistan. Second, we have no grudge against the people of Pakistan, we want friendly and brotherly relations,” he stressed on close ties with people of Pakistan.

He said that not the governments but only people can solve the Durand Line issue.

Responding to a question, Hamid Karzai said that he never recognized the Durand Line, and repeatedly expressed his viewpoint.

He further said that Pashtuns on other side of the Durand Line are victims of conspiracies.

“I am sad to say that Pashtuns on the other side of the Durand Line are also going through tough time. Pashtuns are killed as well as defamed in foreign imposed war. What happened in Waziristan—elders were killed as well as the people who were famous for Jirgas— indicates that there is something else going on in this region,” Hamid Karzai said.

Responding to a query regarding Pakistan’s military operation in North Waziristan which displaced thousands of people and left their properties destroyed, the former president said that he wrote a letter to the Prime Minister of Pakistan to target real nests of the terrorists rather than targeting civilians or a particular nation or group.

He said that terrorists are in the plans and policies of Pakistani military. “They [terrorists] are there [Pakistan], but not among the people. They are not in Miranshah, Wanna and Mir Ali. They are in the plans and policies of Pakistani military. They cannot be eliminated until Pakistani military stop using them,” he said.

Regarding construction of the gate at Torkham by Pakistani government, the former Afghan president said the gate constructed at Torkham is totally unfair and should be removed.
is take ur Afghanistan back lol

even if afganis want to live here in pak. First of all gov never gonna let this happen, secondly we dont know what will come with them!!

They can live here legally on permanent residency by registering their business and paying taxes. Not by becoming false citizens, running illegal business and crime rackets...!

is take ur Afghanistan back lol

Well he should have thought before opening his mouth..Pashtunistan could also mean taking the Afghan-Pushton areas to form a great KP...

Yes this is what an Afghan friend of mine says. He feels that as long as Pakistan's economy is better Pakhtoons will stay with Pakistan and should Afghanistan's economy improve the people of KPK and Balochistan will naturally want to move towards Afghanistan. Now I do not know if he says this to indirectly say that Pukhtoons are with Pakistan only because of economy and nothing else or if he actually believes what he says.

I being a pathan will prefer to die rather then joining the Afghanistan. And all my community has same feeling. Pakistan is my identity and i would love to die as a Pakistani. Some people are creating these non sense to divide us in ethnic bullshit. Love live Pakistan long live K.P.K

Dr shahid masood have said it about 2 months ago that ANP and awami mili party going to raiz this slogon. he expose them on spot.. now they raizing voices again to check pressure they get from stablishment. so Hamid Karzai did it on behalf of it ANP exposed their backers just cuz of their cawrdess approach..
N league is leaking nawaz has no potiential other then feeding haram to their abnormal kids and family. banning honest Pakistani criticizing army ISI is leading front line... someone sud get up i think its time.

I think Indians and Afghans have lost the plot here and have gotten carried away with the false belief that they can dismember Pakistan further. Common sense governs one should only weaken an enemy enough and not take it to the point of attempting to break it, as (ignoring the military capability) the spill over will be deadly enough to ensure their own downfall

They didn't choose Pakistan over Afghanistan so they could mingle with barbarian people in Afghanistan. They chose Pakistan specifically because they didn't want anything to do with the barbarian nation; Afghanistan. Judging by the situation in barbarian nation, Afghanistan, licking the feet of Indians like slave, it appears Khyber and Balochistan made the right decisions to go with Pakistan. :D

Afghanistan is beyond the shameless now; already source for the khawarij aka terrorists waging their wars against God of Islam. Yet, Afghanistan is happily becoming evil stooges selling their souls for Indians who despite Islam to no end given their communal mindset and their oppression against Indians Muslims on large scale under the excuse of beef laws. Never thought in my life that i would witness so-called mighty Afghanistan becomes the pathetic excuse of existence as prostitute for Indians. :disagree:

Most of the folks there will be opt to live in Pakistan, that is no brainer.

Going back in history Afghanistan was part of Persians, there was no such thing as Afghanistan back then. Lets keep going back in history.

What are you talking about? I am talking about an Afghan identity, your mumbling about a state.

Do you think if Afghanistan and Pakistan Merged together, it will be a good thing for the Pukhtoons.

Not all Afghans are bad, the government of Afghanistan is a different thing.

Not all Afghans are bad, the government of Afghanistan is a different thing.

To me, All Afghans are bad. They only become human beings after living in Pakistan. Afghanistan is lost case; beyond the help now.

I doubt Afghanistan as province of Pakistan do good for Pakistan, nevertheless i doubt they would be keen to become under Pakistan as state. Personally, i want Afghanistan to be under the extension of Pakistan, so in the future no nation can exploit using Afghanistan as platform to sponsor terrorism in Pakistan.

Tribal affinities are much stronger among Pakistanis, more so than their nationalism. Karzai seem to take advantage of that and needling Pakistan where it hurts the most. In this Karzai seem to taken the page out of Modi's Pakistan's strategy

Only Pushto speaking are Afghan, not others.
Others are creating probs for poor Pashtuns of Afghanistan because most of Pushtuns are effected from the wars of 40 years.

I am Pukhtoon and like all Pukhtoons I also have a soft corner for Afghanistan, after all it is the home of my ancestors. The reason that Afghanistan is such a mess is because of the corrupt warlords that have taken over that country. You can't have a whole country as an extension of another country. it wouldn't work and will create more problems.

Yes tribal affiliation is strong in Pakistan, but when we are threatened by an outside force then we forget what tribe we belong and face the threat as one nation.
