had war not ravaged Afghanistan, the country would've been in an ideal position for SE Asian countries to Central Asia, middle east and possibly mainland europe for rail lines and roads that would've provided enormous opportunities for trade and also bringing in piped gas and petroleum to countries like India.

Yeah,

It was Taliban that saved Afghanistan from dooming down.

Now, Afghanistan is Second 2nd best country in World after Switzerland.
