I don't see it that way, i have meet many Afghans here in Australia and they are very hard working folks, but they are basically brain-washed. They have been bombarded with mis-information like all the vows of Afghanistan is due to Pakistan. We will need to reverse that mindset.

Not all Pukhtoons live in KP mate,
He and many others are gloating over successes of Sikhs against "Afghanis" in early 19th century but it were mostly Pashtun tribes of plain areas of KP who were at the receiving end and were given a bloody nose by the European-trained and disciplined Sikh army.

Why you always mention training as some factor? Pretty sure others like turks and mongols also used to have better training, equipment, tactics etc when they won battles, it's only natural.

lol if we (Punjabis) are daal khors, why are the meat eating superior race Afghans in the videos posted with this thread small and skinny like bhaiyyas albeit of fair color? They need some duddh makhan, desi gheo in their diet, seem to be a victim of Rabbit starvation.

You know about Malerkotla Punjabis? It is majority Muslim and Sikhs hold Malerkotla Muslims in very high esteem.

As per provisional data of 2011 census Malerkotla urban agglomeration had a population of 135,330, out of which males were 71,401 and females were 63,923. The literacy rate was 70.25 per cent. Malerkotla is 55% Muslim majority with mixed population of about 75,000 Muslims and 50,000 Hindus and Sikhs
As if Afghans and Pashtuns dont eat Ghee and Makan, which we call Ghawarri and koch respectively and we are eating it since time immemorial. Also beef and mutton has lot of fat in case you dont know (may be you dont know because you Sikhs are vegetarian). So keep your Protien poisoning bullshyt in your pocket Sardar ji.

Malerkotla was founded by a Pashtun from Sarwani tribe during Lodi period and it was one of the few Afghan principalities allowed by the Mughals in Punjab. Its Afghan Nawabs were very active allies of Ahmad Shah Abdali and participated in his attacks on Sikhs.

Those Afghans are considered ugly, and even dark Afghans in my village are mocked by the fair majority.

Well I don't think afghanis are nazis. They will hate evil panjabay even if they were as dark as africans and panjaby were snow whites. And here we are talking about afghanis being shade lighter on average in brown category.

Undisciplined tribes with no artillery and forts , equipped mostly with swords, shields and jezails were up against one best army in the region beside East India Company. The organization of Sikh army along Euopean lines was definitely a big factor in their successes against Pashtuns....bravery of Pashtuns was not working

Army of Ranjeet Singh

Ranjeet Singh organized his army on the lines of European pattern. The importance of cavalry decreased and infantry became the most important branch of the structure of the army. He engaged French and Italian officers.

Two European generals , Monsier Ventura and Monsier Allard, arrived at the court of Ranjeet Singh. Monsier Vantura was an Italian by birth , and an infantry colonel in the French service and Monsier Allard was a Frenchman who was also colonel in cavalry. Ranjeet Singh employed them to organize his army on European lines. The tomb of Anarkali was converted into a cantonment and high salaries were fixed for them (Steinberg, Henry, "The Punjab", 1846, p-98). They raised new regiments which were disciplined and drilled after the manner of European cavalry.

The third European general arrived in the court of Ranjeet Singh in 1825. It was Monsier Court who had received his training at Ploytech institution at Paris. He served Martial Bassiers in Spain as Aid-de-camp. The fourth general was Italian by birth, Monsier Avitabile , entered into the service of Ranjeet Singh.

Ranjeet Singh also extended employment to the ex-naiks and deserting sepoys and native officers of the East India Company's service.

Ranjeet Singh had a large and well-disciplined army. It consisted of thirty-one regiments of infantry , nine regiments of cavalry, the hundred and eighty eight pieces of artillery of various caliber. Nearly one-half of his regular army was commanded by the French and other European officers and the rest by his native officers.

Besides these troops, there were also forces of irregulars in his army, furnished by Jagirdars. The annual expenditure incurred by the Maharaja in the payment of his regular army was Rs.1,27,96,482.

Soldiers were armed and clothed by the state, and with the exception of two or three battalions commanded by English officers, were organized according to the French system. The men comprising the army were almost entirely Sikhs. Some European officers served in both the civil and military administration of Ranjeet Singh. General Ventura and General Avitabile held civil charges in addition to their military responsibilities. Ventura served as the governor of Multan and Avitabile held civil charges as governor of Wazirabad and later of Peshawar. Merlom, the American, was governor of Jearata and later of Gujrat. John Holmes served as the governor of Gujrat.

Ranjeet Singh payed special attention to the development of armoury of cannons. He installed factories for this purpose and engaged skillful persons in these factories till 1839. There were found hundred and seventy persons with five thousand men to operate these factories in Ranjeet Singh army, the most important among them were Ilahi Bakhsh, Ghaus Khan, Sardar Lehanah Singh etc..In March 1839, the Maharaja appointed Gnaga Ram as the paymaster of the irregular forces. In 1806 Ranjeet Singh appointed Mokham Chand , a Khatri, as the chief of his army. He served from 1806 to 1814 the year in which he died.

In addition to the regular and irregular army, the Lahore government had also on its pay a body of irregular cavalry called Akhalees. They were religious fanatics.

It makes me really sad seeing the relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan increasingly resembling the Saudi-Iranian enmity. You two belong together. Don't let foreign countries ruin your friendship.

The comparison fits nicely but given the history of Pakistan and Afghanistan, it is not surprise why there is difference among each other. If anything, Pakistan had great history of maintaining pro-stances on Afghanistan while Afghanistan remained anti-Pakistani due to their racist mindset towards non-Pakhtoons in Pakistan.

It is centurion old racist mind that still lingers in Afghanistan which comes at the expense of Muslim brother-hood. Prime example is that Afghanistan that once ruled India is deliberately choosing to be slave of India because they hate Pakistan that exhibits the population of Sindhi, Punjabi, Balochi, Hazara, and Urdu speakers [emigrated from India].

Afghanistan still hate Pakistan despite the fact that Pakistan houses the largest Afghani refugees in the world, not only that, in fact one of the province is dedicated to the Pakhtoon and Pakhtoon community in Pakistan outnumbers Afghanistan by population. Yet the hate is still there.

Something tells me that centurion of racist mindset that cannot be resolved overnight. Even now, Pakistan still endorses pro-stances on Afghanistan, at least on official. Otherwise, Pakistan wouldn't have invested 500 million on Afghanistan in the last five years.

If there was no Pakistan, people in Afghanistan would have been in the worst situation than Middle East, and certainly a lot worse than current Afghanistan as they are right now. Because of Pakistan, people from Afghanistan used Pakistan to emigrate to the rest of the world, and some even conducted business in Pakistan. They benefited a lot from Pakistan economically just as people from Azad Kashmir do.

The only different is that people from Azad Kashmir appreciates the contribution of Pakistan while Afghanistan is still stuck on the its centurion-old racist mindset. So it is better to invest on the Kashmir as whole that is appreciate of Pakistan and maintains anti-India which is bonus.

Not only that, if there was no Pakistan, Muslims would have preferred India over Afghanistan. That's how unfit Afghanistan is in terms its treatments towards the other races that is non-Pakhtoons - often deemed as inferior and would have been oppressed to death.

This is non issue. Even people living in border villages without fence know who they are. Pakistani pakhtuns waiting for liberators is myth they have created in their own mind. They get pissed off when reality is opposite of that and then react like savages as they did on these poor civilians.

You people mock dark skinned people in your village?....and here members are claiming that there is not a shred of racism in Pakistanis

They despise dark skin Period! and the dark skinned Afghans (Minority) are very conscious of it.

If you have sticks and other side have sword, then who will win? The brave one or someone with sword? Better horse, better sword, better training, tactics, organisation etc all mattered even before modern world. Abdali didn't won against Marathas on basis of bravery.

They despise dark skin Period! and the dark skinned Afghans (Minority) are very conscious of it.

I will not paint them with same brush, that's racist!
