I guess hope sprints eternal -- wonder if it takes into account the Afghan economy's contraction with the withdrawal of International forces from Afghanistan.

Article here, excerpts below:

KABUL: The bilateral trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan is expected to touch $5 billion in 2014-15 but global slowdown has kept the trade at little higher than 2011-11 level.

Afghanistan is the only country that has been allowed by Pakistan to export its goods through Wagah to India. Afghanistan is one of the major trading partners of Pakistan and has been top exporting market for Pakistani products since ages.

...

Afghanistan is the fourth largest export market for Pakistan after United States, European Union and China.
Pakistan and Afghanistan are not only good neighbors but also members of SAARC and OIC.

...

He said that Pakistan’s exports to Afghanistan are wheat, sucrose, soap, tea, footwear, carpets, paper & paperboard, pharmaceutical goods etc.

Major imports from Afghanistan to Pakistan are carpets, textile floor covering (knotted), seeds of anise, guts/bladders/stomachs of animals etc.

. .
Bilateral trade increase is good, but most of the Afghan trade items that were exported their on special and subsidized rates, then returned back to Pakistan and selling in Pak markets.. and also Under the bed Of Indo Afghan trade that is only trade allowed via Wagah ,but should have check and balance over their as some items can be exported to Pak and also to Afghanistan that is not to be exported their.. (hope every one can understand... ;) )

Let the economy of Iran flourish after removal of sanctions, Pakistan will get direct trade benefit because of their financial growth. Afghanistan is also on the path to slow recovery - good for Pakistan and growth of the region as a whole.

Pakistan is very much happy to grow with it's neighbor, but what to those neighbor did not recognize Pak as free nation..
we all have to stop fighting, and remove all the issues on which Armies are relying and make their way to earn... as if their will be no disputes like Kashmir, then their will be no use of that much Armies and their Budgets....
Food for thought....
