Actually it is...What you need is an effective system for a free and fair election....and an effective system doesn't come from a magical wand..It needs stability...and AF is everything but stable...

For example last elections that Karzai won was anything but free and fair...

Karzai can go and talk to the USA AND India let him go and swing on a danda. He is slowly but surely emptying any $ in the afghani coffers and lining his own pockets looking after number 1. Lets see exactly what the 2 parties at his beck and call offer him. Because we have literally been taken for granted have been put on a back burner. Im sure Air India wont be flying the Afghani refugees to Mumbai and Dehli to look after them. Im sure he will see and then appreciate the sh*t we have been putting up with.Pakistan has been shouldering too much and struggles to look after itself. Never has this been taken into consideration. Perhaps very soon he will see for himself and as Arnie once said "He'l be back!"

May i ask has anyone forced you to shelter the refugees??? If they are actually bringing so much trouble for Pakistan then should not you go ahead and remove them irrespective of what AF do regarding her security apparatus???....Isn't this a choice that Pakistan has to make???...in fact i will say it is shear stupidity to continue with refugees if they are bringing in influx of Guns, Drugs and daily bombs....but then ....

Ego aside, for Afghanistan to be a true liberal, free and independent country it needs both India and Pakistan to truly sit together and find solutions.

But as in the past we know that is not gonna happen.

With respect what will and can India offer to the situation in Afghanistan? Have a think. Are India in a position to offer anything on the table? Extremism is to be removed from Afghanistan. The Americans, with all the resources they have, have been unable to remove this. I am not trying in anyway to knock Indias generous offer but why the hell would India want to get their hands dirty where the USA have failed for the last 10 years?
When you guys start putting your thoughts into words on this forum think of the logistics and resources and history of the nation in question. I genuinely feel for the nations people as they have been dragged from pillar to pillar and the last thing they now need is another band of promises that will be unfulfilled.

Well we will not have boots on the ground for one

Apart from Money as loans or aid, Infra, Education, Health care etc. we can teach them to be democratic and cope with all the problem irrespective of all divisions, poverty, extremism etc. coz if you know India then you will know our journey over the past 65 years wasn't easy it was and is a struggle against so much of odds...

No instant solution but a long term peaceful road map should be drawn. It won't be easy but won't be impossible also

Yes and also no.

Iraq they got oil.
Afghanistan, Iraq and Vietnam gave them experience of war in different environment.

USA may be down now but can't say for the future.
